      Djing is a b-r-o-a-d church. If the "room" is a nondescript bedroom, then zoning out (especially in a shared VR world) with decks is gonna be REALLY appealing.

    DJing in VR is a great way to access and learn equipment you might not be able to otherwise. In TribeXR, I’ve been able to use the virtual equivalent of thousands of dollars’ worth of Pioneer DJ gear that I wouldn’t have easily had the chance to experience otherwise. Highly recommended!
    I look forward to giving this one a try as well especially due to the hand tracking. However the ability to share the experience with others is a crucial element. Definitely one to follow! :)

    Great review Phil, and very exciting gear. I can't help but think this is a little weird when performing in front of crowds, but for livestreaming DJ sets it's brilliant. There's also the Tribe XR CDJ emulation which is a great way for anyone on a budget to hone their "club standard" skills at home. I love the idea of hybrid mode. If Tribe XR do somthing like that it would be great, because people could for example buy the hardware mixer and use virtual decks, then maybe add a real deck later when they can afford it, and so on. It's exciting times to be around.

      Yes and no. Tribe maintains a license with Pioneer and it emulates real club gear. I literally learned Pioneer CDJs and DJMs with Tribe. Algoriddim is going the other way, taking advantage of the VR platform with larger virtual controls. Algoriddim looks like it has better ergonomics for VR controls whereas Tribe will prepare you play in the real world.

    One additional cool thing with VR is going clubbing e.g. in VRChat. Then there are real people in the (virtual) club. Still even then I would prefer to play with normal equipment and stream this in the virtual club. But it is a cool thing if people want to start DJing.
    I would also recommend getting the normal Quest3 and not the Quest3s. Quest3 has better lenses and also features a 3.5mm headphone output which will result in much better sound quality.
    But VR is in general really great and I'm confused how this is not raising at it should be. It is not only single player gaming it is more the multiplayer things where you can meet friends like they are in same room even if they are living far away. Recommendation would be a very good minigolf game called Walkabout Minigolf... playing this with friends like 90% of the time using VR 🤣

    Technology when used PRUDENTLY, has amazing "MENTAL" 💪rewards.
    The ability to "DISCONNECT" from the real world to relieve stress, all the while being in a SAFE and familiar musical environment, is priceless😁
    Just remember to reconnect to be among the living and most importantly, remain grounded✌
    Now as far as using in a LIVE club setting I do have reservations, as that is meant for use to engage with your audience via the lens of your 👀, not a head set.

    I'm a huge tech fan, but I'll definitely give this a miss. This is like driving a Lamborghini and then jumping into a Tesla. Losing the whole tactile experience throws everything about REAL DJ'ing (Like James Hype would say) out the window. Not to be negative or to discredit the concept, but I really cant see this taking off. It seems pretty disorientated and disconnected from a real crowd engaging experience. Lets be honest . . . Its going to take a whole lot of DJ's a whole lot of time to properly make the transition from their existing gear . . . that they've paid a pretty penny for . . .to this kind of artificial experience. Cant see it happening. Maybe for a much younger generation that don't know any better...But 100% kudos to the Iron Man experience...

    Put my DJ booth in the middle of the dance floor so they’re bumping up against the booth and I can feel the crowd and ride their vibe. That’s why I DJ.
    Virtual DJing heads in the completely opposite direction. I already feel a bit disconnected with in-ear monitors, don’t need to strap this thing on my head. The tech is amazing, but the hype is over the top - it’s got a heavy dose of gaslighting and techno-wankery.

    They shipped the wrong product. it annoys me to all fuck that companies keep doing this. this shouldnt be a standalone APP, it should be an overlay. there is an entire scene of VR DJs clucking for a product like this but instead of shipping a product where there is Product Market FIt, they are aiming at a casual market.

    • @ShamanicArts
      @ShamanicArts 13 дней назад

      @@digitaldjtips from what I have seen it doesn't work as an overlay, you can use it in passthrough mode, but thats not whats meant by an overlay. To be an overlay it would have to run on the desktop & hook into steamvr. An overlay is able to run "on top of" other VR content.
      Every weekend there are 100s of events with 50+ people each inatance in vrchat, there are thousands of VR DJs that play at these events, many of whom spend thousands of £ on their vr setups who currently dj in vr, half wearing their headset and looking down nose or navigating controllers by feel. This audience is who this product should be aimed at, users who treat vr as a lifestyle and therefore see algorriddim as an investment, not who they are currently aiming at, which is users who see VR as a fun toy .

    • @ShamanicArts
      @ShamanicArts 13 дней назад

      Especially because over the next few years this audience will have an outsized impact and representation on the DJ scene as a whole going forward. Where else can a junior dj get experience playing 5-6 clubs a weekend, every weekend . Capture this audience and you capture a sizeable chunk of future up and comings
