Geoff's character, Frollo, is considered to be Disney's most evil villain...
This was such a dark villain’s song that Geoff had resisted doing it. But Layne’s arrangement is amazing.
Although they only put out a couple minis last month, they are now back with their usual one long (and some minis) each month. Next month’s is already recorded and in final editing.
They will be singing in the Chicago and Friends concert in Atlantic City next month, but hopefully they will still keep to their recording schedule. Even Pattycake Production’s Halloween video (starring Geoff!) has been recorded and is being edited. Geoff had been too sick with COVID to record it early. Better late than never.
In the mean time, Geoff did release his Halloween video, Jack’s Lament. (Forgive me if you’ve already reacted. There have been so many).
Can’t wait for you to see Geoff’s cover of Jack’s Lament. It’s a masterpiece!
Geoff & Voice Play have been releasing new videos every month. Last month there was a slight delay because he & his wife & son came down with Covid but they have recovered nicely. They are getting to play with the group Chicago, I believe it is in Atlantic City in November. Thats around the time Eli & his wife are going to welcome in their first baby. Geoff just released his new solo cover of Jack's Lament from The Nightmare Before Christmas about 2 weeks ago.
Thank you for another priceless reaction to Voice Play. ❤ Geoff originally didn't want to do this & Layne had to talk him into it. I think because it is a very dark & heartbreaking song with a character wanting to kill someone & burn down Paris it was most likely too emotional for him to play someone like that.
VoicePlay is doing great! They’ve been putting out a new video monthly just as in the past. Geoff also posts new videos monthly.
I can’t wrap my brain around the fact that this song is from a G rated Disney movie
I know, right? Maybe that's why it's so underrated.
Your reaction was thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you.
That was a great reaction. Thanks.
Phenomenal performance. Yes it's from The Hunchback Of Notre Dame.
Great Reaction
I saw it, but it has to be 25+ years since I I've seen it.
Enjoyed your slack-jawed reaction to this piece. It is absolutely mesmerizing, I've watched it hundreds of times since they released it on Patreon.
Voiceplay released their new video today Friday the 19th.... Black Hole Sun.
It is amazing.
Yep. Voiceplay addiction is a thing, I believe. As it is with Geoff's solo stuff.
Just so ya know, ft. is equal to featuring. So VoicePlay ft J. None basically means Featuring J None. If you already knew that than I apologize. Great Post by the way. 🙂
❤❤❤
You seemed stunned and mesmerized thoughout the entire song.
Amazing, huh? ❤
The premise here is that minister Frollo--a cruel, violent, prideful and bigoted man who has been oppressing the Romani in Paris for years--becomes infatuated with the street performer Esmerelda and tries here (unsuccessfully, as you heard) to find strength in the faith he's never really taken seriously. The Latin background vocals, from the Catholic prayer the Confiteor, are directly contradicting his claim that none of it is his fault: "mea maxima culpa" means "by my own most grievous fault."
Someone replied to everyone with a sketchy link with your name and photo. Please confirm or deny those replies are from you
Thank you for telling me. That’s not me.
Just seen it
