You got a Goodun there, you want to hang on to him. Maybe get him a waist-high board and stand to save his back from future strains and disabilities though. I know scooping out the bucket is the fashion these days but it's 'definitely' counter-productive in the long term ...... #OOPS!! :-)
Good luck but you're not getting well taught Step ladders are a no no Board and stand not bucket trowel and tub otherwise your elbows and wrist will not last
Far to slow, id use the fucking hop up myself instead of the ladders. No scrim, looks too thick. And hes not working fast enough. 2 months in he should have something about him But hes attacking it like he has all day. No spot board, not a huge fan of out the bucket. If hes this slow on a wall god help him on a ceiling.
I think I was quicker at 2 months. Not to mention start from the left. Not right left middle left right. Something you should point out to the lad. Teach him timings if your going to get him skimming a customers wall’ ie timings got to be right for a perfect finish. Also the wall isn’t prepped fully. Something I thought you as a supervisor would realise. Once heat gets to the bad boy expect cracks.
me I start on my right at the top doing a coat right against the ceiling working down but I've been at it 44 years now sometimes I go in robot mode and don't even think about plastering weird but prep is the most important thing in my book wish my son could have been one but I knew he wasn't going to make it a few weeks in a real shame
The speed will eventually come. I started when I was 16 myself at Carpentry was put straight on a roof and never looked back. Qualified at 20 and my own building Company by 24. I have 1 major problem with the work and I know it's not the young lads fault but the wall is not even prepped yet. As soon as a bit of heat gets at the walls them joints that you haven't taped will crack nicely. Rookie mistake my friend.
Dan Pilsworth u start at the top because if u drop shit from the top onto the stuff you have finished at the bottom youv got to try go over it once it tacked off. Makes perfect sense to start at the top
holy shit, that's fuck ALLL. Plasterer/Plumber in Australia gets $60-80k a year m8. 30k pounds is still just shy of 50k aud. fuck me. Pay your tradies a proper wage.
Don't forget all the little cash on hand jobs on the side, mates, mates auntie has always got a mate she goes down the bingo with, who is shagging the bingo caller, will always need a room doing
I watched this shit for 5 minutes and he didn't fall off the ladder
It’s not often you see a young lad happy at his work these days.
Who wants work on sites now
Good on you mate, 2 months in and keeping it clean is a good start. Learn to be clean and the speed comes later. ATB.

Need to get it on the wall quicker than that
Well he is a apprentice 😂
give him a big spatula, this tool what u use its not comfortable, the big spatula saving alot of time
Working clean good lad. If you work messie you will lose control and end up getting into a state of panic.
More on the floor than the wall
But nicely put on for a newbie
Too much. You don’t need that much.
All wrong from the word go .
That wall has got re skim all over it

Peter Gibbons he is 2months in.... speed comes with experience.
A ladder is no workplace!
He also has awful trowel skills as well.
They way he uses his trowel and hawk is terrible.
How dose a plaster make an hour in the uk? And is it good career to into? Thank you.
10 to 30 grand a year, apparently. Electrics and plumbing will earn you a bit more.
holy shit, that's fuck ALLL.

Non self employed tradesmens earnings top out at about 40 grand a year, i think they should earn more.
I'm an experienced plasterer and roughly make 100k a year less materials and running costs of my business.
Don't forget all the little cash on hand jobs on the side, mates, mates auntie has always got a mate she goes down the bingo with, who is shagging the bingo caller, will always need a room doing
The boy done well
dude's not built for it, physically or mentally. just quit.
If you can piss you can plaster
Itz Buggy 😂
Yeah everyone says that 😂 you can say that about any trade
If it’s that easy why are people employed to do it dickhead
If that’s true then why are good plasterers on £200 a day
