I'm sure this has already been covered here in the comments but the Fanatics are supposed to be price cheaply for those that don't want to spend 200+ on a jersey. So that's why it's all heat pressed on and not stitched and the materials are lighter. No tie down fight strap. And the team crest and patches are glossy and no substance or embroidery on the crest.

In my opinion, the very small differences don’t matter. For example if you’re not fortunate enough to be able to afford an adidas jersey, a fanatics jersey is literally perfect. It’s actually super comfortable

The black and blue? I like it, looks pretty dope if you ask me! As far as the fanatics and adidas version goes, it really all depends on your preference. Adidas is built to last longer than the fanatics brand. If you’re looking for something more casual wear wise, the fanatics jersey should be your go to.

Great video. Grabbing the Fanatics Kraken blank. Sounds like they are a bit more comfortable and I won’t have to worry about the heat pressed numbers and name peeling off. I, personally, am more into comfort and repping my team than an “on ice” jersey and specific players. Been burned many times in the past by players leaving. 😊
You should buy an adidas no matter what, but if you are a bigger person, the fanatics will fit a lot better and they go up to around 4X, adidas doesn’t think about bigger people

what’s up, and thanks for watching! Fanatics is more bigger on the tagged sizes compared to the adidas counterpart which is more true to size. Keep in mind these jerseys are not sized like older CCM/KOHO/REEBOK era jerseys. They run much more tailored these days, but the fanatics brand fits slightly bigger than what they’re tagged at. Hope this helps narrow down what size/brand to go for!

Glad I found this video. I went to purchase a new Rangers Liberty jersey last night, and saw there were Adidas ones and the Fanatic ones. Obviously first instinct was to go buy an authentic, but the Lafreniere's were all sold out, and only available in Fanatic. Just wanted to make sure the jerseys were still quality before I snagged one. Thanks man!
To my knowledge all the adidas authentics should have stitched numbers. Adidas never made breakaway numbers. However be careful where the customization was done as they may use the cheap vinyl press feature on authentic jerseys
I know I’m late but you helped me by my sharks jersey all the way in the uk. The reason you can’t see the SJ in the little arm bit is because in the fanatic version it hasn’t got it. But the Adidas one does. You wasn’t blind. I’m really happy with mine so thank you

Thank you for the close ups. I didn't realize that the Fanatics were basically premium NBA swingmans. The main patch looks like it's printed on, with some details stitch over - is that right? I.e. the Shark's teeth are printed, but the body of the shark is embroidered? It's a clever illusion - you can see the texture of embroidery, so it looks like every color is finely embroidered with different thread colors. BTW - what camera do you use to film? It's good quality, and a big upgrade from the camera you used in Size 60 jerseys with tall tees underneath lol.
You’re welcome! Yes, as I’ve mentioned in the video, Fanatics brand is not completely bad. I would place the quality above the new/current M&N Swingmans. The Shark patch on the front of the Fanatics is like one big graphic/printed patch that is single stitched on the outer layer of the jersey. In regards to my camera. I use a Sony lol. A huge upgrade from my older 2007 camera I would hope 😂 🤞
@@REZRECTION I assume that's an RX100? I actually think they're better than swingmans. The Adidas Swingmans use to chip in the wash and show the white underneath, not sure if the Nike swingmans do that. But the Fanatics NHL front patches don't seem like they would chip because they aren't "plastic" like. The fact that the patches are a woven (but printed on) material means they are probably more durable. But it looks like the numbers are a different material than the logo patches? I could see myself settling with a Fanatics NHL jersey if it was way cheaper than the authentic, but I had to sell my whole Adidas Swingman collection because they're destroyed after like 10 washes.
@@IntrigueAvenue I’m shooting with a Sony Alpha A6400 Yeah the patch material on the Fanatics brand is definitely different material than the numbers/letters breakaway jersey. The numbers/letters on the breakaway jersey are basically like the same material they use on the current Nike NBA swingmans today. Though I’ve heard that the patch on the fanatics brand jerseys can potentially tear/rip since they’re so “flimsy” but I would imagine you would have to really put the jersey through some hell for that to happen. Almost all of my jerseys, I get I usually dry clean or hand wash, so I never really throw them in the machine to get washed. Pricing is definitely a huge factor since fanatics/breakaway jerseys are like half the price of what the authentics would run you. In the end, I hope my video helps you make the right decision! 🦈🦈🦈

Thank you! I would advise not to machine wash any jerseys and strictly hand wash or dry clean if possible. If throwing in a machine, use the most delicate cycle as possible and turn the jersey inside out. Keep in mind heat press vinyl jerseys are more prone to seperating from heat.
A ton of people knock Fanatics, but over here in the UK Reebok/Adidas Jerseys go for anything from £90+ brand new, and even then you have import fees or you have to buy second hand. Fanatics are like £50 new, and on eBay you can get them for less then £25 if you're lucky new. I got Colorado, Nashville and Columbus new for £15 each from a warehouse clearance.

Thanks for watching! A small in adidas authentics currently would be a size 46. A 50 would be medium, and 52 would be large and so on. The adidas website will also have a size chart for full sizes!

I don’t mind the Fanatics hockey jerseys at all. Big issue, as he alluded to, is it runs big. The logos stitched on are lighter but not flaky. I’ve yet to get one to peel or fall off. Or come close to it.

Depends on how you like to style your jerseys. If you want to style your jerseys like the fitted look probably a 54 but if you want a more relaxed fit go with the 56
The SJ initials on the sleeve is only visible on the Adidas jersey. I don’t why that is but it’s only on the authentication. I have a Authentic Adidas jersey with Jumbos name and number and I love it. Awesome video. Informative video for peeps that are looking into buying a hockey jersey.

Later that day, I tried it on, only to find out it was a fanatics women’s large! I felt like a dummy, but fortunately, I was able to exchange it for my actual size!

Really all depends on how you like to style your jerseys. I’m 5’9 and 200+ but I try to get XL for al my garments since majority of my preferred fits are a little on the loose side. If you like to wear / style your jerseys like me I would say get a 54 if getting the adidas authentics or a large for the fanatics brand!
Even to this day, I think both are good for their purpose. The fanatics ones just need to be wayyyy more reasonably priced, but that authentic looks sick even after Kane left. Really nice jersey.
Is think here the only choice is connected with the cash and it's clear: Adidas. Fanatics looks soft compared with the Authentic Adidas one. I started hating Fanatics, damn! Old replicas (Nike, Koho, Proplayer...) weren't so bad quality as nowadays and didn't need to spend too much either.
You can’t go wrong with either one in my opinion. At the end of it all, it all comes down to preference, I think the biggest difference from fanatics & adidas are the quality and stitching features. I own both, and I’m satisfied with both to be honest. Fanatics is the best route when it comes to affordability. Either way, either jersey will still show the same amount of love you have for that team!
Picked up 3 Adidas over the last 3 months. 2 from Cool Hockey and one from a private seller on eBay. Compared to my Reebok and CCM, it’s night and day. Adidas has really stepped up their quality for us jersey heads and we’ve bought accordingly. Breakaway jerseys are good for when you don’t care if you get them dirty or messed up a bit. Thank you! Adidas fits a little more smaller in my opinion, I would suggest going a size up from what Fanatics sizes are tagged at. You can prob go size 52 for the same fit as the fanatics jerseys or a size 54 if you like that loose / baggier fit for adidas

People complain on the fanatics for being really bad for the price and maybe its kinda true but it stills bring you the having a hockey jersey experience and for some people having an adidas for like 75$ more is not worth it. So like you said they both have pros and cons. ( btw if you want a more authentic looking jersey you can remove the little fanatics tag with a tiny scalpel blade and if you’re careful its gonna look clean)
I have two Jerseys a ccm Stockton heat Jersey and a winnipeg jets fanatics Jersey the fanatics Jerseys are decent ther not as good as Adidas but if you want a inexpensive fanatics but the Adidas ones are also a good choice too
I bought a custom breakaway jersey and I can honestly say that I was really disappointed how narrow, of a spacing the letters were. It just didn't felt like a jersey. Luckily the place I purchased it from are giving me a refund.
@@REZRECTION The person I was dealing with over in customer service at Fanatics told me that the person that put together my jersey, screwed up when I showed her the image of my defected product. They used small lettering sizes for youth sized jerseys on an adult one. wtf. They offered to replace it for me so we'll see if it's right this time around. The only authentic one I got is currently framed, but ordered another one to rep at games. My replica and just be worn around town haha.

NHL shop had the black stealth and regular teal home jerseys of Patrick Marleau for 20 bucks in the fanatics breakaway. I jumped and bought both and I’m actually pleased with the fanatics. I have some adidas authentics already for comparison. So can’t go wrong with either. The black sharks jerseys are so sharp and crisp. Love them.

One for the full priced ones and then the reduced ones. Then the listing disappeared later that day. I for sure thought I was gonna get a cancellation but I just got them last week. Perfect for running around town here in south Florida with the thinner material. Always get compliments. Now I gotta get the new 30th anniversary jerseys which look awesome!

I have been told that fanatics is horrible with their items, but they’ve always been pretty good to me with customer service Responses. Never tried their live chat though so that’s good to know in future💯
save money buy the cheaper version of breakaway and find some one to use authentic lettering other than that but comparing a break way to authentic is comparing shaqs at walmart to jordans at nike . Quality is way different and I have jeseys over 40 yrs worth and all authentic . Only jersey type I will ever buy and I still mainly wear the jerseys from 80s era n mid 90s .. 3 days ago was wearing my 87/88 season Bob Probert jersey and 3 men asked me where I got it from and said back in 87/88 season and couldn't believe how good it looked . Looks new they said lol. I take my jerseys to the dry cleaners because to me they don't belong in the washer . If I played pro sure toss it in cuz I get new one next game lol but yea classics and the quality n materials 100000x better
It depends on how you want it to fit and which one you are going for. If going for fanatics, I would recommend ordering a size down as opposed to the adidas authentics. I would prob recommend getting a medium in fanatics and large for adidas.
@@niiokanyasu5941 Reebok nhl authentics are a lot bigger. The adidas nhl authentics are more with a “tailored” / fitted look. If you want the jerseys to be oversized, I would go with the 54 adidas or or large on the fanatics
Honestly I don't hate the breakaway because when your going to a game you want to be comfortable, but the authentic is built to be played with like the numbers are double stitched because the players are getting tossed around on the ice.

Yes, large and xl will differ with sizes. Though as mentioned in the video, the fanatics jerseys do run a bit big

Fanatics is more bigger on the tagged sizes compared to the adidas counterpart which is more true to size.
Keep in mind these jerseys are not sized like older CCM/KOHO/REEBOK era jerseys. They run much more tailored these days, but the fanatics brand fits slightly bigger than what they’re tagged at. Hope this helps narrow down what size/brand to go for!
I haven't bought an NHL jersey since the Reebok days. Are the Fanatics jerseys kind of the same material as the replica Reeboks?
Fanatics are much different than the older Reebok stuff. Much more lighter in weight and less durable, but easier on the price!

Glad I found this video. I went to purchase a new Rangers Liberty jersey last night, and saw there were Adidas ones and the Fanatic ones. Obviously first instinct was to go buy an authentic, but the Lafreniere's were all sold out, and only available in Fanatic. Just wanted to make sure the jerseys were still quality before I snagged one. Thanks man!

Is the pre-2022 Adidas SJ Home jersey double stitch for the number on the back?
To my knowledge all the adidas authentics should have stitched numbers. Adidas never made breakaway numbers. However be careful where the customization was done as they may use the cheap vinyl press feature on authentic jerseys
How did you find the adidas fit compared to the Reebok one?

I got a Steelers hoodie for Christmas. It’s a fanatics brand. Iron on came off like sand first time I washed it.
Thank you for the close ups. I didn't realize that the Fanatics were basically premium NBA swingmans. The main patch looks like it's printed on, with some details stitch over - is that right? I.e. the Shark's teeth are printed, but the body of the shark is embroidered? It's a clever illusion - you can see the texture of embroidery, so it looks like every color is finely embroidered with different thread colors.
BTW - what camera do you use to film? It's good quality, and a big upgrade from the camera you used in Size 60 jerseys with tall tees underneath lol.

Yes, as I’ve mentioned in the video, Fanatics brand is not completely bad. I would place the quality above the new/current M&N Swingmans. The Shark patch on the front of the Fanatics is like one big graphic/printed patch that is single stitched on the outer layer of the jersey.
In regards to my camera. I use a Sony lol. A huge upgrade from my older 2007 camera I would hope 😂 🤞

I actually think they're better than swingmans. The Adidas Swingmans use to chip in the wash and show the white underneath, not sure if the Nike swingmans do that. But the Fanatics NHL front patches don't seem like they would chip because they aren't "plastic" like. The fact that the patches are a woven (but printed on) material means they are probably more durable. But it looks like the numbers are a different material than the logo patches?
I could see myself settling with a Fanatics NHL jersey if it was way cheaper than the authentic, but I had to sell my whole Adidas Swingman collection because they're destroyed after like 10 washes.

Yeah the patch material on the Fanatics brand is definitely different material than the numbers/letters breakaway jersey. The numbers/letters on the breakaway jersey are basically like the same material they use on the current Nike NBA swingmans today.
Though I’ve heard that the patch on the fanatics brand jerseys can potentially tear/rip since they’re so “flimsy” but I would imagine you would have to really put the jersey through some hell for that to happen. Almost all of my jerseys, I get I usually dry clean or hand wash, so I never really throw them in the machine to get washed.
Pricing is definitely a huge factor since fanatics/breakaway jerseys are like half the price of what the authentics would run you.

Thank you! I would advise not to machine wash any jerseys and strictly hand wash or dry clean if possible. If throwing in a machine, use the most delicate cycle as possible and turn the jersey inside out. Keep in mind heat press vinyl jerseys are more prone to seperating from heat.

A ton of people knock Fanatics, but over here in the UK Reebok/Adidas Jerseys go for anything from £90+ brand new, and even then you have import fees or you have to buy second hand.
Fanatics are like £50 new, and on eBay you can get them for less then £25 if you're lucky new. I got Colorado, Nashville and Columbus new for £15 each from a warehouse clearance.

I’m 5’9 and about 230lbs currently. The authentic adidas I showed in the video is a 54 / XL - I probably could’ve done a 52 but I like my hockey jerseys to run a little on the bigger side.

Thanks for watching! A small in adidas authentics currently would be a size 46. A 50 would be medium, and 52 would be large and so on. The adidas website will also have a size chart for full sizes!

I don’t mind the Fanatics hockey jerseys at all. Big issue, as he alluded to, is it runs big. The logos stitched on are lighter but not flaky. I’ve yet to get one to peel or fall off. Or come close to it.

Depends on how you like to style your jerseys. If you want to style your jerseys like the fitted look probably a 54 but if you want a more relaxed fit go with the 56
The SJ initials on the sleeve is only visible on the Adidas jersey. I don’t why that is but it’s only on the authentication. I have a Authentic Adidas jersey with Jumbos name and number and I love it. Awesome video. Informative video for peeps that are looking into buying a hockey jersey.

Funny story, I bought a fanatics brand sharks jersey a few months ago and I was surprised with the number/letter quality. It was almost like that of authentic quality!
Later that day, I tried it on, only to find out it was a fanatics women’s large! I felt like a dummy, but fortunately, I was able to exchange it for my actual size!

Really all depends on how you like to style your jerseys. I’m 5’9 and 200+ but I try to get XL for al my garments since majority of my preferred fits are a little on the loose side.
If you like to wear / style your jerseys like me I would say get a 54 if getting the adidas authentics or a large for the fanatics brand!
Even to this day, I think both are good for their purpose. The fanatics ones just need to be wayyyy more reasonably priced, but that authentic looks sick even after Kane left. Really nice jersey.

Fanatics looks soft compared with the Authentic Adidas one. I started hating Fanatics, damn! Old replicas (Nike, Koho, Proplayer...) weren't so bad quality as nowadays and didn't need to spend too much either.
You can’t go wrong with either one in my opinion. At the end of it all, it all comes down to preference,
I think the biggest difference from fanatics & adidas are the quality and stitching features. I own both, and I’m satisfied with both to be honest.
Fanatics is the best route when it comes to affordability.
Either way, either jersey will still show the same amount of love you have for that team!

Picked up 3 Adidas over the last 3 months. 2 from Cool Hockey and one from a private seller on eBay. Compared to my Reebok and CCM, it’s night and day. Adidas has really stepped up their quality for us jersey heads and we’ve bought accordingly.
Breakaway jerseys are good for when you don’t care if you get them dirty or messed up a bit.

Adidas fits a little more smaller in my opinion, I would suggest going a size up from what Fanatics sizes are tagged at. You can prob go size 52 for the same fit as the fanatics jerseys or a size 54 if you like that loose / baggier fit for adidas

The fanatics have less details but are so much more comfortable and adidas look sharp and have details with different materials
There are definitely pros and cons to both brands and jerseys. At the end of the day, it comes down to the buyers preference.

People complain on the fanatics for being really bad for the price and maybe its kinda true but it stills bring you the having a hockey jersey experience and for some people having an adidas for like 75$ more is not worth it. So like you said they both have pros and cons. ( btw if you want a more authentic looking jersey you can remove the little fanatics tag with a tiny scalpel blade and if you’re careful its gonna look clean)

I bought a custom breakaway jersey and I can honestly say that I was really disappointed how narrow, of a spacing the letters were. It just didn't felt like a jersey. Luckily the place I purchased it from are giving me a refund.

@@REZRECTION The person I was dealing with over in customer service at Fanatics told me that the person that put together my jersey, screwed up when I showed her the image of my defected product. They used small lettering sizes for youth sized jerseys on an adult one. wtf. They offered to replace it for me so we'll see if it's right this time around. The only authentic one I got is currently framed, but ordered another one to rep at games. My replica and just be worn around town haha.

For me, comfort is much more important than authenticity. What am I a professional athlete? Do I plan to skate up and down the ice and bang into other people for an entire night? No. Breakaway works for me.

NHL shop had the black stealth and regular teal home jerseys of Patrick Marleau for 20 bucks in the fanatics breakaway. I jumped and bought both and I’m actually pleased with the fanatics. I have some adidas authentics already for comparison. So can’t go wrong with either. The black sharks jerseys are so sharp and crisp. Love them.

@@REZRECTION It was actually earlier this month. Which is weird because he’s back with the team. It had to be a price error because there were two listings for the same jerseys. One for the full priced ones and then the reduced ones. Then the listing disappeared later that day. I for sure thought I was gonna get a cancellation but I just got them last week. Perfect for running around town here in south Florida with the thinner material. Always get compliments. Now I gotta get the new 30th anniversary jerseys which look awesome!

The only true authentic jerseys are the Adidas made in canada team issued ones. All other jerseys (including adidas Indonesia made) are all replicas

I have been told that fanatics is horrible with their items, but they’ve always been pretty good to me with customer service Responses. Never tried their live chat though so that’s good to know in future💯
save money buy the cheaper version of breakaway and find some one to use authentic lettering other than that but comparing a break way to authentic is comparing shaqs at walmart to jordans at nike . Quality is way different and I have jeseys over 40 yrs worth and all authentic . Only jersey type I will ever buy and I still mainly wear the jerseys from 80s era n mid 90s .. 3 days ago was wearing my 87/88 season Bob Probert jersey and 3 men asked me where I got it from and said back in 87/88 season and couldn't believe how good it looked . Looks new they said lol. I take my jerseys to the dry cleaners because to me they don't belong in the washer . If I played pro sure toss it in cuz I get new one next game lol but yea classics and the quality n materials 100000x better

It depends on how you want it to fit and which one you are going for. If going for fanatics, I would recommend ordering a size down as opposed to the adidas authentics.
I would prob recommend getting a medium in fanatics and large for adidas.

@@niiokanyasu5941 Reebok nhl authentics are a lot bigger. The adidas nhl authentics are more with a “tailored” / fitted look. If you want the jerseys to be oversized, I would go with the 54 adidas or or large on the fanatics

I wish the numbers were double stitched not printed. Man things change and not always for the better, just quicker and cheaper..... SMH
In that case, authentics are your best option. Price people pay when trying to go got the lower tier end.

Adidas jerseys are definitely a lot smaller than the fanatics. Wish we got authentics in both brands imho!
Honestly I don't hate the breakaway because when your going to a game you want to be comfortable, but the authentic is built to be played with like the numbers are double stitched because the players are getting tossed around on the ice.
