- The new production of Gershwins' musical Crazy For You arrives at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London direct from Chichester Festival Theatre.
Crazy For You stars Charlie Stemp and Carly Anderson and Tom Edden. It is choreographed and directed by Susan Stroman. The set is by Beowulf Boritt.
Paul Seven Lewis reviews it and asks how it compares with the other recent hit 1930s musical revival Cole Porter's Anything Goes.
Crazy For You was at the CFT in 2022 and ran in the West End at the Gillian Lynne from 24 June to 31 December 2023.

Unfortunately I rarely go to the theatre, but what a treat Crazy For You was earlier this week. Absolutely phenomenal !
Just seen Crazy For You and I am buzzing! I loved Anything Goes, but I wish I could stay on my seat and see Crazy For You all over again this evening. It deserves a West End run!!!!
Yes!!!
I knew I would feel like that too so bought tix for both shows on a Saturday 👍
Yes Crazy for you at Chichester has the edge over Anything goes with Sutton Foster...which is saying something
Never seen anything like CFY, in terms of everyone being perfect (well Charlie's voice is nearly perfect), energy levels, combination etc -Carly was amazing
Yes!!! Surely a West End transfer. Charlie Stemp returns to Mary Poppins until January, but after that…
As I'm starting this I'm already gonna say Crazy For You (which I've seen on Broadway and heard this production kept the choreography for) is better than Anything Goes (which I saw last summer at the Barbican.)
Oh wow Beowulf Borritt is my favorite theater designer. I really need to fly back and see this.
@@nicoletrudell2065 If Crazy For You doesn’t transfer to London and get a long run, I’d be amazed. Who knows, with Susan Stroman and Beowulf Borrit involved, maybe it will even go full circle back to Broadway.
@@TheatreReviewsWithPaulSeven Yet I still feel like I'm leaning heavily towards a wildly unwise financial travel decision 😂
@@nicoletrudell2065 You only live once.
@@TheatreReviewsWithPaulSeven DONE - made my way to Chichester from NYC and saw it twice on 27 August - very much worth the trip!
