I have always machine-washed my many silk items in the “Hand-wash” cycle without any serious issues (hang dry, or flat dry for silk knits). Silk does have a strong tendency to fray, though, so keep a careful eye on the seams and other edges, most can be stabilized before the damage gets bad. I just bought a pair of white silk trousers (Lily Silk). I was hoping they would make these in an easy pull-on style, like the Toteme ones, but they’re structured instead. I’m very easy on my clothes, but I’ll be selective about where and when I wear them, no eating pasta in Italian restaurants. I would check the composition of the decorative embroidery on those silk trousers, it’s unlikely that it will change color, if washed with like colors, but might appear darker if the fabric lightens.

I was bitten by the “silk bug” too, years ago. Once tried, nothing else feels half so comfortable, especially on sensitive skin, or if one tends to have overheat or get hot flashes, it’s highly breathable. In the beginning of your video, I thought you said you were going to show “items from my freezer!” Eventually I figured out that you said from “My Theresa”! It’s not your speech, which is perfect, it’s my hearing, which isn’t. I though My Theresa only sold designer bags, I had better take a look again. Someday, I must have the Toteme patterned silk trousers, and now that I see it, the matching shirt as well🙂

I hate spending a lot of rain-gear, but that raincoat is exactly what I need, it can be worn with equally well over my skirts and dresses or joggers, etc., for walks. So many trench coats aren’t even water-resistant, much less waterproof, but I want a long coat that IS waterproof.

They could look a bit crowded together but try it and see how you feel in the combo. Pairing that top with a pair of silk trousers in the same colour way (or in black without pattern) would also be a nice and chic option. 💕

Would you recommend going one size down for the Toteme cable knit jumper (the second item you shared)? The oversize looks great on you. Though I’m having a hard time finding jackets large enough to wear on top of oversized jumpers in general without looking like a bear. 😂
