  • Chiapas at Phantasialand is one of the best log flumes in the entire world. This Intamin creation features a record-breaking 66 ft (20 meter), 53 degree plunge, backwards sections, and immersive theming. The way this water ride is integrated into the Mexico area is incredible.

    That angle of the massive drop with the theming surrounding it looks so good. Im not a big fan of theme parks, but Phantasialand looks like its a ton of fun.

    Rode this in december in an extremely cold day, and loved it so much we got back for another ride later in the day before park closing, and I have the soundtrack on my playlists because it is so damn good. The last drop blew my mind the moment I saw it, I remember being like "fuck, that's bigger than I thought". I had never been so intimidated by a log flume until I saw it, and it definitely gives you a pop of strong airtime on the back. 10/10 ride.

    The "dark" section with the skulls and lights is paying homage to their traditional holiday Dia De Los Muertos. Celebrating the dead!

    Yeah I rode Chiapas once and got absolutely soaked. But it's so good.
    I did not expect the backwards drop at 3:55, I was absolutely shocked.
    I hate Water Rides and usually skip them, but it would've felt so wrong not riding Chiapas. I made one exception that I regretted during the ride, but afterwards I thought about the ride again and I think it is a Phenomenal ride. I am very happy I rode it.

      I wasn't surprised a flume advanced as this would have a backwards drop.

    I know this was coming up when you posted footage of Chiapas yesterday! I don't think I've ever been this hyped about a non-coaster. I can't wait to get to Phantasialand! Thanks for the review

    Stonewash and Wildwash Creek replaced a longer and bigger logflume. It was basically reworked and split in two. Mack Rides helped with that.
    The old and long one was built in 1974 and was Germany‘s first logflume. It was created by the park itself with some help but not by Arrow, Mack Rides or other usual suspects for log flumes.

    Definitely the best flug ride i've been on. I have been to Phantasialand several times and Chipas is still great! The last drop is the best one that a flug ride can have i think.

    This looks like the best balance of thrills and theming on any log flume. Splash Mountain probably has the better theming, but this one isn't lacking with theming either and the thrill aspect seems better on Chiapas.

    I just rode it today, and i gotta say The restraints are like hell, they basically stops you from lifting your feet up from The boat and that results in really wet feet plus on The first drop be Aware you Will get soaked, water Will come in from The sites but besides from that Its an amazing ride 9/10 from me😄

    I Love This Ride , I Rode It In 2019 ( I Think ) With One Of My School Friends , The Line Moved Pretty Quickly Which Was Nice. The Ride Experience Is Amazing And The Drops Are Nice , The Final Record Breaking 53° Drop Really Feels Insane Knowing That You're Actually Riding A Log Flume And Not A Coaster , The Restrains Are Not Really The Best , They Pin Ur Legs Down Which I Hate Personally , I Like Rides With Room For My Legs To Move Freely , I Wish The Trains ( Or Log's ) Could Have A Sort Of Buzzbar Restraint So The Legs Won't Be Pinned Down But Overall The Restraint Hasn't Really Bothered Cuz I Was Mostly Enjoying The Ride :)
    Great Video! 👍😁

    This ride is best experienced on a hot summer day, fun and refreshing in a small package.
    Also, just like the log flume that came before, you are photographed during one of the drops and can buy said picture at a booth after the ride.

    I under stand the issue with the restraints however I'm great full for them. I had an experience on rip saw falls when I was a kid. In the late 90s early 2000s when ripsaw was under refurbishment when they were shaping from the original handrails to the new restraint. However myself, my father and 2 others manged to make out way to an employee section only of the park when confronted by the one employee we told him we were trying to get on ripsaw. Hey took us to the unload area and proceeded to get us on the ride. The log had its hand rails removed and bo other restraints were installed yet. On the final drop I put my hands up as we went down the hill I slid all the way forward out of reach of my dad when we hit the bottom thankfully the other adult in the log with us grabbed my shirt just barley. I was starting to become ejected from the log when that happened. Thankfully she pulled my little but back down into the log before hitting the little air time hill were I certainly would have been ejected from the log to be possibly crushed by the next one coming down.

    This log flume is the best one I've ever ridden. The only thing I don't like about it, is the restraint system. The sitting position is quite awkward and my legs usually start to hurt during the ride. That's the only thing that could be better.

    I can relate to the lap bars being a problem because that happened to me on Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. They put me in the second row because I was too tall for the front.
    The first two drops have breaks at the bottom to slow the boats down. Do you believe they may have ruined the ride at all or did you barely notice them?

    BTW Valhalla has 2x 19M drops at almost the same angle, plus all the crazy theming and effects. It's hilariously unreliable but IMO it's still the best water ride in Europe, possibly the world (although it was better when it had the backwards drop)

    For me Chiapas has too many flaws. The restraints are horrible, the boat constantly hits the ground of the canal, there is always water in the boat completely soaking your feet and water dripping on you from higher levels just makes the ride feel poorly sealed and cheap. Of course the ride is a prototype and problems as such do arise. Aside from these points it is a good ride, but these problems just take away from the experience. Furthermore it just doesn't really fit Phantasialand's vibe, which to be fair is something you cannot judge from your position as you have not experienced this park's development over the last decades. River Quest is just the superior experience in my opinion and I'd take it above Chiapas any day.
    Also, I think its quite arrogant to display your subjective opinion as an objective fact. "Chiapas is the best water ride in all of Europe". No it is not for everyone. It might be from your viewpoint, but I know many people who would disagree, just sayin. Just because you might have ridden more rides than everyone else doesn't mean your opinion is correct.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  2 года назад +1

      All my reviews are subjective. Of the ones I've ridden, I think it's the best in Europe. But I know not everyone will think that.

    • @medea27
      @medea27 2 года назад

      Not sure where you get the idea of 'objective fact' from here.... _obviously_ it's a subjective opinion, as are all reviews. He's entitled to his opinion that Chiapas is the best water ride in all of Europe, just as you are entitled to have a different one. He never mentions, implies or states that it's a fact.
      The only arrogance here seems to be your own, because for some strange reason you feel the need to be rude about someone else expressing an opinion... it's OK to agree to disagree.

    • @mariuscannaka8940
      @mariuscannaka8940 2 года назад

      @@medea27 This video is not a review, it is a description of the ride with some opinion mixed into it. For me a good review does not merely describe the layout and state some basic facts that everyone knows already. There is just significant lack of analysis here.

    • @medea27
      @medea27 2 года назад

      @@mariuscannaka8940 Again, you're talking about your own opinion on what a 'proper ride review' entails while simultaneously discounting any other point of view... different creators produce different types of videos. There are some that go into depth about the engineering, others that discuss the history, and the majority are similar to this one in providing an overview of the ride with opinion mixed in.
      If you don't like this particular style there are plenty of others out there. And it's easy to provide feedback without being rude to the creator who's put a lot of effort into producing the content you just watched for free.
