Link seems one of those movies that seems pretty respectable. Taking an extremely stupid idea and actually attempting to take it seriously and be somewhat poignant, even if it fumbles the ball. Could be a great movie to check out

May I also recommend the following: Ultraman Dyna, episode 28, “Simian Forest” Land of the Giants, episode 36, “Comeback” Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, episode 64, “The Wanna-Be Ranger” Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, episode 140, “A Chimp in Charge” New Adventures of Jonny Quest, episode 6, “Vikong lives”

I've got a couple more I plan on covering, but those videos take a long time to prepare so I'm saving them for later next year. Gotta focus on smaller stuff for the time being.

Not saying it's a good "joke," but the Landis "See You Next Wednesday" phrase is a reference to the expression "C U Next Tuesday," which is a covert way of saying the C-word in acronym form. It's okay if you didn't get it, though, because I didn't get your joke about referring to the film "Dunston Checks In" as "Dunston Fucks Good on the Sega CD."

I would describe Link as an orangutan actor playing a chimp character, the same way a fantasy movie may have a human actor playing an elf character.
Ape horror is so wild to me. Especially for how old it is, since I’m fairly certain it dates back as far as the Victorian Era, since even Poe did one
"Schlock" as a movie is like "C U Next Wednesday" as a movie title.
