For over 30 years Frank Vincent has starred in such films as "Raging Bull", "Casino", "Do The Right Thing" and "Goodfellas" and most recently he received critical acclaim for his role as the feared New York Capo Phil Leotardo on the HBO award-winning series "The Sopranos".
Before acting, Frank Vincent made his living as a professional musician. At one point he had his own band and in the late 60's he hired a guitar player named Joe Pesci.

I love that he has a sense of humor about the whole shinebox thing. Instead of being angry that he's typecast as a gangster and mostly remembered for that one line, he laughs about it and sells t-shits and mugs! lol

He doesn't resent anything anymore.
That's because Frank had class. A real man can laugh at himself. I myself get respect as Frank Vincent did: wisdom, life experience, an eloquent voice, & staying calm when everyone else is freaking out acting like chickens with their heads cut off. But I don't have what it takes to have shined his shoes (lol!(no pun intended)).

@@insertusername7141 No. I met him in Dublin Ireland. He was the least pretentious of any celebrity local or international than i ever seen in the shop. Maybe because he was getting 20 thousand euro worth of suits for nothing or because i knew a lot about his career and asked him about more than just Goodfellas but he was a legend to me and gave me 10 minutes of his time to talk.
I like the fact that he always kept the hairline of a 5 year old. He had amazing hair, and an even more amazing shinebox.
His success is because of his shine box.

Frank was a Club Drummer who led a band for years. Pesci played guitar with Frank and it was Pesci, one of, if not the very best Actors as a Gangster, who brought Frank into acting. He was a natural at it and is gone from us now, but left a very nice slew of films to watch of his performances.
He did a two man comedy act also.

He used to have a website and it had a contact tab. I clicked on it and it showed an email address with Franks name in it. I thought what the hell, I'll send in a message and see what happens. I just wrote a couple of sentences telling him what a fan I was and that i had recently learned he was a musician, that I was down because the Sopranos was ending, blah, blah blah. A couple of weeks later I look in my email inbox and see this strange email address. I clicked on it and it was a real nice reply from Frank. He was so friendly, nice and cool.
