I really don't know if you belive me, but when the AREA 51 was live I was at school. The english teacher was not feeling well so our teacher from the computer lab was our substitute teacher. well even them having guards shooting people is beyond ridiculous being that the 100% civilian guards are not only NOT authorized to shoot anyone if they do in the state of Nevada killing any unarmed trespasser is considered murder and being found guilty of the crime of murder in the state of Nevada carries a sentence of life without parole or even the gas chamber. This is also stressed during the briefings to the guards that if they shoot someone esp someone who is not armed and not a threat to there life they better get ready to go to prison because there is nothing that lockhead or EG&G (the co all the guards aka camo dudes work for) can do to protect them from the law if they commit murder.

On the day this was supposed to happen, I was on active duty in the US Army and I was attending a school on how to instruct small unit tactics on Ft Lewis. For the first half of my presentation I covered the power point. Explaining an area defense with defense in depth, and a point defense. We took a 15 min smoke break and when we returned the base commander as well as the commanding general of MCOE was in the classroom to observe our class. For the second half I gave an audio / visual presentation of how to execute an area defense, with this video as my example. Generals sitting in the back of the room I stood at the podium stoic and professional. Playing a video of kids dabbing while running across the desert to Through the fire and flames by Powerwolf, and a Soldier in a tower yelling WHAT THE LITERAL FUCK!" I continued the entire video, pausing at moments and explaining the tactical preparedness of the defenses at Area 51, As well as the opposing forces creativity in their attack. Breaking everything down professionally. I had the generals in the back, as well as the entire class laughing their ass off. It was a peak moment in my Army career.
Oh, and I received the highest grade in the class for my presentation. 🤙

(In all seriousness I do think that the entire population of the internet charging one location is something that modern militaries are not, strictly speaking, prepared for, short of nuking their own position. Obviously a lot of weapons are plenty effective at wiping squads but I don't think that even an M134 can just swing right to left and wipe out everything in front of it. The CBU-89 GATOR instant minefield thing seems like it might be the best-optimized for such a situation, but even then, if we assume the raiders simply never retreat in spite of casualties, they could gain some ground. It's no contest, but it'd get messy, is my point. Also I think saying that might have put me on a watchlist.)
