Brr...Brr...Breathtaking. a masterclass in atmospheric perspective and bold bright underpainting. Emma you are the Queen of light and shade. Thank you for another inspiring tutorial.
Thank you for such lovely feedback!
You are truly talented.Love this!
Beautiful colors in this pastel painting.
Absolutely stunning use of color, Emma!
I love the many colors of snow.
it is a stunning painting. I am very impressed.
Wow that’s beautiful
When I decided to try pastels, I learned from your videos of painting animals. I used Pastelmat and Unisons as did you. I learned so much that I applied to still life successfully. I am now learning to paint landscapes and appreciate this video since I paint more realistic than other pastelist and so this tutorial helps immensely🥰. A HEARTFUL THANK YOU EMMA.
Thank you for the lovely comment! It's amazing how the same skills can be applied to different things. Keep exploring as I am too!
Great!
I know just what you mean about gettng stuck beteeen styles! This turned out beautifully.
I admire your work so much and every video you upload is like a little present to me
Thank you! The lovely comments are a present to me too :-)
Beautiful play in the shadows, I enjoy the blenders and have even used cotton ear buds. I enjoy Richeson pastels very much. They are made very well and their company cares. Lovely play on complementary colors a bit in the sky. Super!😊
Thank you! I love the Richesons too. So many lovely brands out there!
WHAT A WONDERFULL PICTURE BRAVO!!!BEAUTYFULL
Thank you!
Lovely!
Beautiful!!
Absolutely gorgeous Emma……it’s snowing here in Aberdeenshire just now, and I live out in the sticks, down a lane……you’ve got this spot on! 👌 this is like a scene from when we get snowed in every winter 🩵🤍💙💜⛄️❄️
Thank you! I bet it's been beautiful there this Winter. Glad I got a chance to experience it a little even if only through painting it.
It's so incredibly beautiful. I love the colour choices and all the details in the front. Your trees are flawless.
Thank you! Trees have definitely improved :-)
Excellent!
Great job Emma, it looks wonderful. Definitely, trees and winter limbs are very difficult.
Absolutely gorgeous and takes my breath away with the purple blue haze and sunlight 🙌✨
Thank you!
Very interesting to see your painting style! Some other pastel painters do so much more layering, as it would be the only way to paint with pastels. I feel liberated to see your style. Thank you!
Thanks for the comment! There are so many different ways to use soft pastel. No right or wrong way, just lots of variety!
Emma this is absolutely stunning. You are an incredible artist and a joy to watch and learn from. Thankyou so much for all the inspiration you give me to improve What you make those stubby little sticks do is amazing❤
Thank you so much!
You are an artistic genius! It’s lovely to hear your beautiful local accent too Emma. 🥰 I’m from Co. Down and absolutely love your work. ☺️
Thank you! Putting a bit of Norn Iron out there :-)
Hullo Emma, As I watched you create this better than the photograph painting! I wondered how you manage to use every speck of soft pastel? You use the smallest pieces and I guess my ham handed use just seems inadequate for the fine use that you are able to put them to, is there some technique that I am not discovering? I am using pastel pencils for my fine lines, I am just not able to get the fine lines your able to conjure out of those fine specks of pastel! Thanks for sharing this quick time version with us. I know Patreons get a better look and how I wish I was able to be a part of that group again! Thanks for continuing to show others how it can be done, even if we are a bit taken away by your prowess with the sticks! Lovely painting, Thanks again!
Thank you! I don't think there is anything more I can say only that I have spent so many hours using the pastel sticks and sometimes it is a case of sitting very still and barely daring to breathe when adding a small detail. But it's also great that we have the pastel pencils as even I need to resort to the small point sometimes! It's definitely a struggle with the sticks, don't be fooled by the ease of the timelapse :-)
