The Airhawk seat has been around for almost 20 years, but the technology The ROHO Group invented dates back to the early 1970's. Originally developed for long term care and wheelchair patients, it was soon discovered that the "dry flotation" could be used in a variety of applications, including truck drivers, pilots and motorcyclists. The interconnected air cells help alleviate pressure hot spots and also absorb shock and vibration. The Airhawk seat now consists of 3 choices for motorcycle use. The Original Airhawk seat requires measuring your motorcycle seat to determine proper fit and uses neoprene rubber bladder, a sweat-wicking, washable polyester cover and 2 straps to attach to your motorcycle. Offered in 5 sizes for both rider and passenger. The Airhawk2 is a more economical choice for those who are only doing the occasional long trip and is made of polyurethane rubber instead of the more luxurious neoprene rubber. Offered in 3 sizes for rider and passenger. Last and the newest addition to the Airhawk family is the AirhawkR that is offered in one universal fitting shape. The AirhawkR also uses neoprene rubber and has been designed to relieve pressure on the tailbone and prostate with it's specific layout of air cells. The Airhawk seat is designed to double your ride time and is backed by the "you bet your ass" guarantee.

If the Airhawk R will fit your seat, that the one to go for. The ergonomic layout of the air cells are really nice for long distances. Check our site for measurements of the R version. For all other Sportbike riders, the AirHawk original comes is a variety of shapes. ~Ali

Purchased the Airhawk R this past summer for a cross country trip from Tucson, AZ home to upstate NY via Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore etc. 400-600 mile days on my Triumph Rocket III Roadster were a breeze with the Airhawk R. Now I use it even for shorter 100-200 mile day rides.
Have a Harley 2013 FLD with the Signature seat with a backrest, looking to do both rider and passenger areas, measurement looks like the 11x 11 is only option is that correct, my wife and friend want a pad bad as the seat ends up killing the tail end.
What would you recommend for a 2007 Harley Davidson sportster? Thank you in advance

You shouldn't move around much in the Airhawk Seat. The cover is rubberized on the bottom to prevent movement where the cushion interfaces with the seat, and the slight inflation of the air cells should help keep you in place. ~Ali
Hello, which size would you use for CRF1100L Africa Twin?
I got the Airhawk 2 just on a whim sense they have a terrific 60 day guarantee. Felt I couldn't lose since the stock seat on my 2012 f800gs wasn't going to cut it at any distance. It took me a couple of rides to get it just right, I think I started out with too much air in the cushion which made it feel unstable like I was sitting on a beach ball. It really doesn't require a lot of air in it. I have since comfortably ridden the a 1000 mile weekend which included the entire Blue Ridge Parkway

I ride a 2005 BMW R1200RT. I'm looking at the Airhawk Low. I looked at their sizing chart and saw lots, but the closest was for a GS or GT. Advise. And thanks.

I have a tailbone injury, I have been unable to ride any length of time due to that injury. Will the Airhawk R alleviate some of those issues. Right now I have the stock seat on a 2003 Yamaha 650 V-Star and would like to purchase this now. I do have plans on purchasing a set of Mustang seats but would like to know if I do so will this air hawk R fit on the new mustang seat when purchased?

Those seem like a really cool and cheap way to stay comfy instead of breaking the bank and going with a Corbin or Sargent seat. I was wondering though...you said the bottom is rubberized so it won't move on the seat but will my ass still slide forward if I brake hard like on my stock seat??
Bought the R for my 2012 , 650 ninja , best thing I bought , can ride 2 hours without getting off
They work and look great as long as you do not over-inflate the bladder.

It can be used on the passenger seat, but you don't want the pad to be larger than the seat. I don't know the size of the Vision's passenger seat off-hand, but the Airhawk R sizes are 14" x 14" or 11" x 11". Take a look at the Airhawk Pillion Pad as well, which is 11" x 9". -DrewZilla

A great product.
The only thing better is a Russell custom seat. Makes 500 mile days much more bearable.

Probably a stupid question. I currently have a fitted sheepskin cover on my Harley. Is there any reason I couldn't simply install this atop the seat and under the sheepskin?
I’ve got a fitted sheepskin seat cover on my bmw GSA and did the same thing but with a thin gel pad. You kinda have to make sure it’s secured properly before fitting the sheepskin cover over it as it can move over time. Not sure how tight fitting your seat cover is but mine was professionally made to fit seat and there’s still room for the gel pad underneath it. So an airhawk should work so long as it’s not fully inflated

+Best Woodchuck No, I think the Dual Sport version would be too wide for the stock XT seat. Ideally, I'd recommend widening the XT seat first, so that you have more surface area on which to sit. If you don't want to go that route, you may get a little comfort by adding a narrower Airhawk that fits the width of the stock seat. That was an issue with mine when I first got them for my RK. I had seen a video on how little air you need to put in it and tried that and it worked great. I sat the cushion on a wooden bench and sat on it letting air out until it just kept me off the wood, put one small puff in it and it was set. I’ve had it for two or three years now for both my wife and I and still happy with them. They also keep your but from getting sweaty on the hottest days, a big plus.

I got the R to deal with the Tiger 800 stock seat, which has too much ridge and too much scoop and becomes painful very quickly.
I put about 8000 miles on the Airhawk this summer and the only reason I stopped using it is because I got the Saddlemen seat, which is great.
The Airhawk R performed flawlessly and kept me riding. Wicked decent seat pad.

About a year in and the straps that hold the pad in place are tearing. If after 6 months, they recommend buying a new cover. If you ride a lot, this may not be the pad for you.
