We are delighted that you gave it two thumbs up. We always enjoy seeing and hearing reviews. Thank you.
Just got one for my '24 XSR900, loverly....the dual sport one fits perfect.
I had a back injury years ago and can't ride without one. It's comfortable enough to sit on but for me the main advantage is it stops shock and vibration going up my back. Without it I'm crippled in 10 miles.
I have a herniated disc in my low back and having a hell of a time finding a seat. Curious if you found this better than a custom seat?
@@ryanbrown7240 I haven't tried a custom seat, never had to once I'd tried the airhawk. It's worked for me for years and I can't ride without it.
I tried Airhawks full, almost empty, and everywhere in between, and I never found comfort. I believe some of us need firm support. I have tried so many pads, so many seats, and what I have on my bike right now is the Pro Pad SuprCruzr sheepskin. After some time I finally strapped it to the seat because it's staying there.
I bought an Airhawk for my R1200RT and it has worked out pretty well. I would say after 4-500 mile days I still feel tired, just not as bad. Thanks guys, cheers from Phoenix, AZ!
Hey buddy. Welcome to the channel :)
Rode with one for about 3 years , very comfortable , but a bit of a rolling feeling under your bum . Repaired it with a tyre patch a few times , it eventually gave way at the seams . Maybe I had too much air on board . Kev
I bought one , anxious to try it out.
The seat on my Kawasaki sx is so uncomfortable so I brought an air hawk seat love it works really well
They are great bits of kit :)
Hi Wayne. I too have the SX and like you say the seat is so uncomfortable. Which Airhawk seat did you buy? Size etc? Thanks!
A friend bought one of these in prep for a 6,000 mile tour out west. We ride 'Wings. I have a Corbin seat. I tried to get him to get one also. Somewhere in WY he frisbeed this aircushion AND one of those bead net contraptions off the side of a mountain pull off. He must have been in pure pain most of the trip. 400 to 700 miles a day on a stock seat! What a man! 5600 miles in 13 days.
Sorry for your friend's discomfort, but really that's no excuse to dump it off the side of a mountain. It can be easily disposed of in any gas station or rest area.
Leave no trace.
I just bought one a few mins ago after reading and watching at least 10 reviews. I hope to goodness it works as well as the reviews claim. My tailbone is sore lol. BMW 1250 GSA here.
Do you like it?
I'm going to give an air cushion seat a try, Right now I have a modified medium firm square piece of foam I use on my motorcycle seat, I found it in the sporting goods section at Walmart, and it has a strap. It added shock absorbency to my motorcycle seat, which helped very much. I'm hoping this airhawk cushion does the same.
Thanks guys!
I bought one of these a few years back after a bike accident and ended up with lower back pain..Before this i could only cover 20miles before having to get off and walk around and do some stretch exercises. Once fitted i could cover 50-60miles. Well worth it if you have a back problem or just for long rides.
Excellent that they worked for you matey. Really comfy :) ride safe
Ride a Deluxe with Danny Gray Buttcrack Seat. Not bad for 200-300 miles. Any farther I put on my Air Hawk.Got me from Ohio to Alaska and back.About 10,000 miles.
When filling the seat, fill it tight.Sit on it and then let out air to desired feel
They are good BUT I have had an Airhawk and the $40 copy version on Ebay and it was even better for a fraction of the cost.
Any links.
I did think the price is a bit OTT - £40-£50 would have been more realistic IMHO
Very informative video, as always. Thanks for the tip.
No probs buddy. Ride safe :)
Great review guys, thank you.
I have an Airhawk and a Wild ass I like both. I find the airhawk a little large compared to the wild ass but would recomend them to anyone.
They help alot . If you have a wide seat ,and a wide airhawk , you're perfect. If its narrow, its so -so.
Seems to work magic for many, but I tried one a few years back and couldn't find an air pressure that worked (from almost empty to full). Because the sit bones compress the sides, unless it's completely empty, the remaining air is being pushed up in the middle, creating another pressure point. And damn must they have insane margins on these...it's basically a plastic bag with a valve.
I used to have one them and got it punctured accidentally. Bought the TOURTECS this time from eBay and I have to say it’s just as good as AirHawk yet half the price.
Thanks for the info matey :)
Always good to find an alternative
"Something close to my heart".
"Did i say heart"
Cracked me up 🤣
Just ordered mine!
Here in Japan the ferry staff put a thick folded blanket on the bike seat before they strap down the bike.
No problems with crushed seat foam.
Thanks for the review, fellas.
I am considering a Honda NC750X whose seat is apparently a weak point on the bike.
Great to see you Toby!
I ordered my Air Hawk earlier in the week, coming up from Melbourne and will arrive in QLD Monday.$180.00. If it's half as good as everyone says they are I'll be grinning like a rat with a gold tooth.
You can get chinese copies for about £10-15 and they are very comparable. I have one for each of my bikes.
Link ? 😊
Just re-watching as just bought one for the Explorer. Looking forward to finding out how it performs as the triumph seat starts gives a numb bum after 2/3 hours.
@@richandiben its good, I can ride for much longer but it does take some time getting the right amount of air in.
You guys crack me up!
Just picked up one of these for my Indian scout bobber stock seat is hard as a rock hope this helps
I've often wondered about AirHawks, thanks guys. I'd be interested to know what Cornish Stig thinks.
I will ask....
Whenever I tour I ALWAYS use my Airhawk Seat. I've toured without it on a ZZR and after a couple of days my a**e was aching like hell and ruined the tour to be honest. I then heard about the Airhawk Seats and bought one and have never looked back since. I've done lots of tours since and have never ever been uncomfortable on the ZZR since. Can't recommend them highly enough.
Great stuff Andrew. They are fab indeed.
Ride safe buddy :)
I did the same on a blackbird last year and would have bought anything to help. Ended up with cycle shorts under my trousers. Wish I'd known about these as apart from comfort the airflow under ass is invaluable 😁
andrew bloomer what size did u get? i hv a zx14r as well. Also, did it change your ride heighth?
I've looked at the product and no size on it. It's big and covers the entire seat is all I can really tell you. As for height of the seat - minimal. You only inflate it enough so that your bum isn't "sitting" on the actual seat. Very important not to over inflate it. Hope this helps.....
@@andrewbloomer306 Thank you Andrew! 14r
Hi Guys ..thanks for the comparison ..but the Video tittle doesn`t say you are comparing air hawks vs gel seats ..coz i was looking for this comparison from experience holder guys like you all ... thanks for the information ..i will surely go for air hawks seats
Hey buddy, thanks for the kind words and glad the video helped you out :)
I love the seat. Will get one for my bike soon
Expensive! Here is an alternative: Buy an inflatable seat cushion for just a few bucks on eBay or Amazon. They are surprisingly comfortable and durable/long lasting. You can get a dark pillowcase, cut it to size for a covering (sew the opening closed or add zipper). Attach straps (bungee cord, Velcro, etc.) to secure it to your bike. You could probably do this for about $15 - $20. True air cushions are far superior than any other cushion, but you need NOT spend a lot of money as even cheap ones hold up well. And, should you lose it, no big deal.
Even cheaper yet, just take your bed pillow and sit on it. Or roll up a few old bathroom towels.....
I just bought one and it's a pain to get it right to much air it's pushing you nuts up and you roll back and forth so need to get it right
Your right
Thanks guys, interesting. I’m currently waiting for my seats to be returned as they are away being customised for comfort and non-slip. Cheers, Andy
No probs Andy. :)
What's the size of your Cruiser seat? I'm thinking about buying one for my gsa. Great videos you are making..
Hiya, its a standard cruiser seat.
When mine was stolen of the bike,I replaced it with a wheelbarrow innner tube .Works just as good.Put it in s home made burlap sack.
Bought an Airhawk for my R1200RT, for a trip from South Florida to North Carolina... it was good, but I don’t think anything can do the trick for 11:30 hours riding and 863 miles. Still was a bit painful.
That’s very true matey, I found that too although it makes it more comfy for longer :)
WILL THIS AIRHAWK SEAT MAKE HAVING HEATED SEATS USELESS????
now there is china copy on ali cost less than 10$ - the same quality as oryginal
More like 30$ with the cover but yeah I'm considering buying it and that's why I watched the video lol
Are these any good to assist with tailbone pain?
they may relieve the pressure and they are really comfortable
I spent £15 on a sheep skin saddle and its the best thing ever.
They are great too. Had them in the past too :)
Ride safe
Kiss of death for South-West weather there ... ;-)
Ha! The snow has just melted.....
True true
Here is March ...! :)
I had to laugh. The advert before your review was for Senokot.
😂😂😬
Morning guys from KL. What size Airhawk would you recommend for a R1200GS (2018)? Got back to riding after a long absence and planning long touring up into Thailand and beyond and even 250km rides are feeling a tad painful at the rear so looking to opt for the Airhawk - any suggestion would be great! Thanks for the vids. Informative with humour!!
hey buddy, thanks for the kind words. we would get the large one as it covers the whole seat. They are great and make the seat so comfy
Nigel Tufnel and David St. Hubbins after they retired from music and took up motorcycle touring.
hahahahahhaha, wish we had their money
Hello chaps, is the seat heater still effective with this fitted, or does it insulate it?
it doesnt affect the heated seat (although on the GSA's there isnt one) but not sure how well the heat would come through it but we havent heard of any issues :)
Interesting review gents. I was sold the "adventure" size seat last year for my (2017)GSA, but that is much smaller than the "cruiser" seat you have. I've done 25000km on it so far and I would say I'm happy to have it there, but I'm not amazed by it. So, I'm wondering now if I was sold the wrong size for the bike?
Given the price, I'm reluctant to throw it away and try again. Cheers, DS
thanks for the comments Dean. Might be that the size you got is a little too small as the one we have fills the whole seat and is really comfortable, that's not to say that everyone would find it as comfy though.
Yeah they are a waste of time. Always a good video though guys.
hi bro i really need one of these or the one from sw-motech for my back to feel better because i drive daily more than 8 hours so do you recommend it to me ? i looked up around many reviews and i get comfused about the products quallity! does it has a life time warranty ? or whats the warranty on it? for a small patented pillow its price is a bit risky if it wont last long! and if theres a small hole how do we could fix it ?
they are great and add to the comfort indeed. they are durable and have a good warranty, but if in doubt, buy the cheaper one and see what you think :)
The AirHawk is soft and comfortable. But you're not as free to move around on the seat, which also is something that helps with fatigue. The stock seat of my 2015 R1200GSA is very soft, soft enough that using the AirHawk is actually worse than without. If you have a harder seat (a R1150GS for example), then the AirHawk may be useful.
Very true. Thanks for the comments buddy. Ride safe
It did not make my Harley anymore comfortable at all
The cover straps are a bit fragile. Mine lasted about a year with moderate use. Air Hawk told me to buy another one. Support for your butt, no support for the product
Gotanything for 2018 honda cbr1000 sp
I’m sure they do. Have a gander on their website as you might need to measure your seat to see which one would be best :)
Wind that's running through it lol
😂
Why bike manufacturers cannot provide good and different seats? You can choose colors but no seat is comfortable. Get a custom seat from LAAM or Corbin and forget all the strap on junk!
I feel like I'm trying to balance myself all the time, and don't like moving around. Not for me just my 2 cents.
good point although give moving about on the bike a try, you will be surprised how it improves your balance and relaxed stance when riding
Hi guys, great vid. I’m going to try one of these for my wife and if she likes it I’ll get one as well. By the way how are you doing those subscribe pop ups ? Cheers, Geoff
Anyone have long term experience?
Burned Pixel hiya. We have both had these on our bikes for over two years and have had no problems. Mark even used his on a marathon trip of 1300 miles in two days and says he couldn’t have done it without the Airhawk. Keep well.
.
Dont leave home wthout it,says my 68 year old back.
definately
How it can be received from Pakistan?
i guess you could have it posted?
Contact the Harley store in karachi
Air is not springy.
I'm sure they are good seats but they are priced outrageously. If this was a domestic product it would be a fifth of the price. Ok- so low economies of scale keep the price up a bit, but almost all products with the name "motorcycle" attached to them results in a rip-off price. This is just a rubber base with a fabric cover. It's not miracle science. Tourtec do a similar seat for a far lower price.
Im sure there are cheaper options out there including much cheaper ones on ebay, but these were the ones that we had tried :) Agree totally about adding 'motorcycle' to the use or title and everyone seems to add money to the price.... if things were a little cheaper, im sure more people woudl buy them
Im still riding on my blowup dolly
Dual purpose
£100-130 !! No thanks … Bloody rip off for what it is, can have an entire seat professionally repadded with memory foam and upholstered with real leather or vinyl for £200-250
that you could and there are much cheaper ones on auction sites :)
i wonder how many 1250 bandit owners are here? ;)
bmw riders ha ha you guys just throw money away ...... keep your money for the tour on the road not money wasted on ooooo look at me
Don't worry, there is plenty to spend on the tour, too. :) Welcome to the BMW world!
Bike needs a clean!
Ha! We used Toby's bike because you could not read the number plate on mine.... Standards!
Disgusted! Ha ha
Yeah it did. It was washed 2 days before too! Cornish roads were filthy! Haha
There a waste of money….. i have one and there crap! Don’t work
Wake up people use your own brain and save yourself pounds 👍
cheaper to go to ikea and buy a sheapskin .... dont listen to all these muppets blah blah
those thin straps look like the weak point, I bet they tear right out of the cover in short order. Is that why you had to replace the cover?
No, the cover was worn out. The straps were still good. I ride around 40k miles a year… Ride safe
