Genuinely surprised how great the jazz chords sounded on a guitar like this! Guitar link/info - baumguitars.com/baumguitars.com/product/backwing-inca-gold/?currency=USD&ref315
I don't know if this is something you would consider, but there is a US builder that won the GGBO Scratch Build, Sweet T Guitars. His guitars are unreal, and he deserves a shout out and more subscribers than he has!
Your tones on this “BEAST” are second to none, AMAZING, Darrell!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The guitar itself from the front side, to me looks like a Gibson Firebird and a Ibanez Iceman combined. Very Cool! Decent price too…👍👍
Great review ..!! I've been curious about Baum for a long time and didn't know they had a mid-price range available .. That thing sounds killer and looks amazing .. I think I'll add it to the ol' Christmas list .. Also, thanks for reviewing something that isn't a Gibson or Fender like 99 percent of people seem to do .. Nothing against either company or other reviewers .. I own several of each, but I kinda know enough about them I don't necessarily to have more of them reviewed ;)
Love the vibe and surprising warmth in those mini humbuckers. Amazing jamming as always, Darrell. I ordered the same model in the "Ocean Mist" color and the Bigsby wobble stick. Can't wait to hear it and experience the playability live.
Sounds like a neat guitar. Perfect rocker but also having nice, neat n' clean jazzy tones. Though not overly enthused about the headstock, I want it. Excellent demo as always... Thanks again Darrell!
I live in Norway, we have boats/small cruise ships that make it over to Demark in just 3 hours. Im definetly taking my fally over to the Baum HQ this summer!
Thanks for introducing this guitar Darrell. Always interesting to hear about new gear. I would like to know more about the neck profile, fret workmanship, weight & balance.
@nmcg2587, considering the size of the body and that it's probably alder or poplar, I'd bet this weighs about 8-9 lbs or 3.6-4kg. The frets look to be precut and prefinished with rounded ends, which if done well is a great way to reduce production costs on a price-point guitar. They obviously did not give Darrell any cause for complaint in the demo and sounded smooth as glass on bends. Incidentally, also looks like a Fender scale length but with a flatter fretboard.
You may want to try a Hagstrom Fantomen. It has a very similar shape, and around half the price. The Fantomen even has push/pull tone pots for coil splitting. My son has one, and loves it.
Finally something better than your average fender and Gibson copy reviews. Thank you. I really enjoy when you show off more unique guitars. I'm just tired of the world of copy guitars. I have nothing against them it just seems thats all that any company makes unless they are known for their unique guitars.
The finish on that guitar looks excellent, and it sounds great. I like that it has a 25.5" scale length, although I do prefer only a single volume and tone control. And they could have given the knobs a little more thought, perhaps.
Yum! I could devour that tasty main course. Gorgeous body, superlative imaginative use of end-to-end brass. And capable of subtle crisp jazz feel. A sophisticated and versatile work of art and electronic technology
Ooo those Baum minis sound really great on top of the awesome hardware and body! I'm already sold on minis having both a Gibson SG and LP with the DeCola designed dual blade variety of mini (look like Firebird pups but non magnetized blades, bar magnet under).
It would seem the brass on the tuners are just cosmetic as the nut and frets are doing their thing before anything gets to the tuners. The brass roller saddles seem like a wise choice. The pickups sound pretty sweet😊
@halohat2286, it's likely that many decent tuners have brass shafts, just hidden by plating. It's a good material for the purpose. It does look nice to leave the brass exposed. I agree that in itself it probably doesn't do amazing things for tone or sustain and most of that, stringwise anyway, happens between the nut and saddles.
I bought one a year ago.. dark metal gray, but the pickups are the baum p90s.. no mini hb. I think it was a one off prototype or some custom design... i got it during a promotion..
I don’t care for the rock sound you regularly play. I do enjoy the thorough reviews that you give. Playing contemporary Country would sound a lot better on a guitar like this model. Also going with a CLEAN sound would really showcase what the Bow Back Wing is truly capable of producing.
One nice looking and sounding guitar there. Only question is why the roller bridge and then fender type string retainers? come on now...get the rollers on the headstock folks. I could so do the Bigsby version. That is what I call a modern classic.
I watched your video on PRS versus Ernie Ball. I found some great deals on the music man John petruci. Cheaper in price than PRS core models and music man is excellent
Interesting! Another new brand. Checked out the website and will dig deeper, this one has nice touches for sure. Thanks for the nod to clean tones - frankly 'crunch' or OD or whatever might be exciting for some but it's not telling anyone what the guitar actually sounds like, it's telling everyone what the amp or pedal(s) sound like. There are several so called YT 'reviewers' who don't seem to understand that any guitar 'review' thru OD FX is a waste of time and, sadly, just a chance for them to wank off at volume . . . you are not one of them and I do understand that getting some insight on the 'weight' of pick-ups and how they perform at volume is important BUT let's hear how it sounds clean. Honestly, is there anyone out there who walks into a guitar shop, plugs a new guitar thru some sort of fuzz pedal and says 'yup. this is the one!'. I doubt it, somehow (I used to work in a guitar shop in the 70s and have been playing ever since and I never came across any serious musician who required distortion to evaluate a guitar). Yup, old school, but 50 years as a producer and player and as many guitars, so please feel free to laugh 🤣
Personally I think the guitar has a great tone clean and dirty very versatile. I think the roller bridge and the brass are great additions but as far as the looks of the guitar……don’t care for it at all. Looks like the body is huge, but that could be the camera angle. I’m more of a traditionalist when it comes to body shape. I prefer something that is somewhat symmetrical and double cut and this is the furthest thing from that you can find. The minibuckers are 2nd only to P90s as my favorite pickups. I can get a wide array of sounds out of my Shawbuckers on my Tele deluxe. If it had the large body and looked more like a novo serum I’d probably order one tomorrow. Can’t get past that lower bout!
It's a really good guitar. I like the brass parts on this guitar but I would prefer the version with the Bigsby trem system. The colors of these guitars are not really my thing, but my choice would be the green. I will try out some Baum guitars in a guitar store in Germany.
love the specs of this guitar. that’s a great setup and those pickups sound really good. But that body shape… not for me. Brass/brass… yeah PRS does a lot of that as well. All up and down their lineup surprisingly.
Nice guitar, nice appointments and sound... but weird that it goes for that look while being a bolt-on neck. And the price is a too high for an overseas made guitar "set up in Denmark" - the company should take a cue from Yamaha or Cort or even G&L etc, the correct price point for this one should be around 900€/$ max, IMHO. 🤷🏼♂️
Any guitar that is around $1500 but doesn't have stainless steel frets is overpriced. I have one guitar with stainless steel frets, my Revstar Standard and it's my best guitar, quality is top-notch and only $1000!. I have others that are high quality but without the stainless steel frets.
the guitar body is much thinner meaning it looks flatter and cleaner and has easier access to high frets, if that's what you mean. i don't believe Baum sat down and tried to make it look like a glued neck, it's just ergonomics
I’m braaassss, I’m brass in the saddles again. So sure the feel, sound and playability are much more important, but wow, that thing is ugly. Might get used to it though But I would need to play one to see what I thought.
Daryl buddy, I love your videos, but use the tone for god sake’s. Not everybody likes the Tweek dimed out Tones constantly. Besides, that nice review killer guitar
Seems a lot like an instrument for people who can really play guitar well, but most will go to do-nothings w/ lots of disposable income who couldn’t play a tambourine, just so they can brag yeah I got one of those Bum guitars, whatever ya call ‘em.
Genuinely surprised how great the jazz chords sounded on a guitar like this!

Thank You
I still miss your intro throwing the guitar on the roof in the snow! It was great! BTW, the Baum sounds AMAZING!!!
I forgot all about that old intro. It's winter, perfect time to bring it back.
@DarrellBraunGuitar.0. go away scammer.
YeahMe2.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!!
Really cool body shape. Looks like a firebird and an iceman had a baby.
Fire&Ice?
I don't know if this is something you would consider, but there is a US builder that won the GGBO Scratch Build, Sweet T Guitars. His guitars are unreal, and he deserves a shout out and more subscribers than he has!
Well you got me to sub to his channel after a quick peek. 👍
Gorgeous guitar. A cool mix of two of my favorite designs: a little bit firebird, a little bit Iceman.
I gotta get one for sure🎉
Your tones on this “BEAST” are second to none, AMAZING, Darrell!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The guitar itself from the front side, to me looks like a Gibson Firebird and a Ibanez Iceman combined. Very Cool! Decent price too…👍👍
THANX for yet another heads up on another excellent guitar.
I always appreciate when a guitar demo showcases a clean funk strum.
And love that distinctive headstock carrying those brass tuners and trees - and just love (!!) the black with gold signature logo detail
Great review ..!! I've been curious about Baum for a long time and didn't know they had a mid-price range available .. That thing sounds killer and looks amazing .. I just ordered from Baum last week! Seeing get love definitely makes me feel good about my decision
Those are wicked man, loved them always.
Sounds like a neat guitar. Perfect rocker but also having nice, neat n' clean jazzy tones.
Though not overly enthused about the headstock, I want it.
Excellent demo as always... Thanks again Darrell!
Great guitar and great show! 👋 😁
I’d be interested in checking one of theses out for sure 👍
I live in Norway, we have boats/small cruise ships that make it over to Demark in just 3 hours.
Im definetly taking my fally over to the Baum HQ this summer!
Wow! Great tones. Brutal. Violent, but so musical. Brass is the secret weapon. Must have
Why? What does brass do that other useable metals won’t besides “not rust?”
Thanks for introducing this guitar Darrell. Always interesting to hear about new gear.

Return of the 'yeah.' love it! Awesome as always, thanks Darrell. 4:25
That’s a thunderbird on steroids. 😍
I like it, shape is cool, I want one in green.
Sounds excellent and looks fab -> as a Les Paul Deluxe player I love anything w/ mini hums!
Man, that beast sounds nasty! I want one.

Thanks for the video. I have to ask, how much does it weigh? It looks great and sounds good.
Spectacular guitar. I went to their site. Great price 👍

Brass shafts for the tuners and other brass appointments has been a staple in Paul Reed Smith' guitar refinements.
Mini Hums are usually pretty bright and that makes me prefer them to full size humbuckers. Never encroach on the bass territory.
Same
That is a beautiful guitar. Way to go Denmark. Heja Danmark! 🇩🇰
Reminds me of the Gibson Firebird.
It’s obviously meant to be somewhat of a clone of the Firebird. It’s probably as close as they dare come without getting sued by Gibson.
I think I need one of those!
Perfect guitar at all

@@markpell8979 Agree 👍

Good looking and those mini humbuckers sound so punchy, clean and loud, a $1350.00 Baum, made in Indonesia.
I like all guitars that you show and should buy all of them. But can't buy playing like you! 👋 😁
I love Firebird inspired guitars.
I don’t care for the rock sound you regularly play. I do enjoy the thorough reviews that you give. Playing contemporary Country would sound a lot better on a guitar like this model. Also going with a CLEAN sound would really showcase what the Bow Back Wing is truly capable of producing.
Darrell Have you heard any info on Diamond Box portable speakers ?? Might be worth a try.
Very nice guirar
Geeezzzzzz....... Another Mouse Trap... Imagine that!!!
oh god, do I want one of these

Child Of an iceman and a Firebird

Aarrell, hope to see you review the new high-end Yamaha Pacifica models announced at NAMM
Thanks mate

Is the Gibson Firebird the most under appreciated guitar of all?
Nice review
Super cool!
Sweet!
Do you eat a Danish pastry before or after you play the guitar? 😊
Re thinking the Gibson Firebird as a bolt neck. Gatemouth Brown swing jazz capable.
Darrell, check out the Rick Toone trem system.
PRS has been doing brass tuning posts forever FYI
it's an IceFireBird
Finally!!
It's not my style, but I DO think it's better body design that the Gibson Firebird, which appears to have inspired it.
LOOKS OK.
Maybe replace the stop tailpiece with a Dusseldorf trem-arm.
love the specs of this guitar. that’s a great setup and those pickups sound really good. But that body shape… not for me. Brass/brass… yeah PRS does a lot of that as well. All up and down their lineup surprisingly.
Reminds me of the Rivolta Mondata.Nonetheless, cool axe!
It would be nice if Guitar companies would put better String Trees on!
Love the body! Hate the headstock and pickgaurd.
Your Intro sounds very 90s. Don't you think?
Well, I do love a Bigsby, but on a big hollowbody like a Gretsch. I've never put one on a solidbody.
From where did you order the guitar? I don't see any Canadian dealers
We shipped it directly from Denmark :-) And we can also do that for you :) Best,
Nice guitar, nice appointments and sound... but weird that it goes for that look while being a bolt-on neck. Omg I’m early! I love your videos btw
@DarrellBraunGuitar....channel well ur fake so no
🤟🤟🤟🤟
Sounds great looks pretty good , although I not a fan of the grooves on the body, it makes it look like it was glued together by a high-schooler.
Any guitar that is around $1500 but doesn't have stainless steel frets is overpriced. I have one guitar with stainless steel frets, my Revstar Standard and it's my best guitar, quality is top-notch and only $1000!. I have others that are high quality but without the stainless steel frets.
If you upgrade a PRS SE to their locking tuners, the posts are also brass with a black thumbscrew on top.
Weight?
Why make it look like a necktthrough, when it's a bolt-on?
the guitar body is much thinner meaning it looks flatter and cleaner and has easier access to high frets, if that's what you mean. i don't believe Baum sat down and tried to make it look like a glued neck, it's just ergonomics
Too many guitar makers not enough players
Looks like a Firebird.
Looks like a Gibson firebird
I’m braaassss, I’m brass in the saddles again.
So sure the feel, sound and playability are much more important, but wow, that thing is ugly.
Might get used to it though
But I would need to play one to see what I thought.
Weght?
Looks a little like a Gibson rd
Take it darrell doesn't like sg guitars hasn't got any on his Tshirts
@DarrellBraunGuitars ok did you run out of room lol there so many out there
Also super expensive$$$$$$$
Кайф
@DarrellBraunGuitars ok, its great, where we can talk, i'm from Russia, You Chanel One of the Best, thank You
Daryl buddy, I love your videos, but use the tone for god sake’s. Not everybody likes the Tweek dimed out Tones constantly. Besides, that nice review killer guitar

never enjoyed the tone of mini humbuckers
@DarrellBraunGuitars begone bot
You'd probably do better with an Epiphone IBG Firebird at $650 than this bolt on firebird clone.
Sound - very good. Looks - not my cup of tea.
Don't care for the control configuration.
What an ugly design ! Oh my goodness !!
