As someone who went from a Bronco to a Wrangler. For me there were trade offs with both. Jeep has better overall put together interior and more soft touch materials but the seats and width is inferior to the Bronco. Highway driving Bronco. Off-road Wrangler. Accessories Wrangler. Either one is great.
This is a great breakdown. I totally agree with you. Really seems like do you want an actual little rock climbing rig or do you want a bigger rig that's better for driving that looks like a jeep. Then get the bronco. Seems like the bronco is just a more road capable, and larger version of the jeep. Which my two complaints with the jeep, the steering is loose and the interior is cramped for me being 6ft and 230 lbs.
Hard to compare these two vehicles when they both have very passionate cult followings lol. That being said, both are emotional purchases (unless you offroad for a living) . So the ultimate choice is up to which one you feel more emotionally attracted to
3:11 - Minor correction: Automatic emergency braking is standard on the Bronco on all trims and has been since launch I'm guessing you were thinking of Lane-Keeping System, which, yes... is optional on the two lowest trims. Great video as usual, not a whole lot of people out there doing family-oriented videos on these more enthusiast off-road vehicles 👍
A couple of things too with the engine choices. Yeah the Jeep has a V8, it's also not selling it anymore after '25 and it's over $100K! You mention the base model Jeep, (which is also not being continued), however the base to base comparison, the Bronco has way more features than the Jeep. Just my.02. Having owned both, the Bronco is my choice... If however you were going to purchase a new vehicle to really hard core off road, the Jeep might be your choice. (For me honestly, if I'm going to hardcore off road, it won't be a $40 -50k vehicle).
I use to own a 4dr Wrangler for a couple years and trade for a truck, when the ford bronco came out, I am all in for a 2022, even though I pay more than MRSP Price, it worth the money expecially the offroad 4x4. it slight upgrade to a wrangler in terms of some feature that a ford bronco have and it wider.
Great idea for a video, love it :) I do agree with the style assessment, Bronco looks like nothing else and gives me FJ Cruiser vibes. Love the look of both :)
I have 2 gripes with the video. First, the Jeeps and Broncos I've been in, the interior of the Jeeps have always been put together better. The other issue is lane assist as a safety feature. Lane keep has proven to increase dangerous driving behavior by making drivers more confident than they otherwise would be while sleepy or distracted. Overall though, I agree with the end premise. A Bronco has a slightly more practical edge design wise. If they had a PHEV version, I might consider trading out my 4xe
The Elephant in the room is reliability. The 4xE seem to have some serious quality issues, the first ones were bursting into flames some of the battery packs were legit exploding. Now they all seem to be having issues with some kind of coolant assembly for the battery pack, which is a 3 month back order part, and jeep doesn't offer a loaner with that (should give everyone a hornet to drive) Then there's the manual transmission recall from 2018 and still no fix.. so the only one you should buy is the v6 with the ZF automatic. The Bronco also has issues, the 2.3t 4 has issues with blowby on the pistons and they are eating rings, and the 10 speed automatic has so many issues in so many vehicles it's on the list of worst transmissions ever made.. so the answer to which to buy is simple, Jeep automatic and v6. ❤
I hear you and it's not an excuse, but the Bronco is very new comparatively. I have the auto with no issues and the 2.7l with no issues. (The recall with the engine was a small percentage of engines on the early build V6 in the '22 models and covered a lot of Ford models). I have had two Ford vehicles with the 10spd and no issues either. GM also uses the "same" 10 spd.... So I would maybe question it's reliability from your standpoint... Not trying to argue, but it may be a small percentage of these. I see a lot of comments online that basically group everything into a majority based on small issues. The only reason I'm asking...
When it comes to reliability..this is like choosing one of two poisons to drink: both suck. I would go with the Ford over Stellantis any day at this point considering Stellantis is all but dead and they are planning to kill off brands.. Jeep being among the ones they supposedly are planning to kill off. So for future support, go Ford. The future of Jeep as a brand is grim and nearly dead.

We have a couple Bronco's at work...I don't get how Ford can't get that 'wave' out of the soft top rear side windows...I don't own either (I drive and FJ Cruiser), but they've had ample time to fix that and still haven't.
My wife owns a Wrangler 4 door and I have a Bronco 4 door. I would take the Bronco every time. Im 6’1” with a tall torso and I hate the seating position in the wrangler. It’s super uncomfortable to me for long drives. I also hate the wander in the steering. Bronco drives straight and smooth. My wife loves her Jeep and will always have one.
Jeep has done wonders with the steering in the 2024 Wrangler. It's a 1000 times better than previous years. I'm a Ford guy, but owned Wranglers for years including a 2020 JLU with the crappy steering. I finally went to buy a Bronco 2 door last summer, drove it and IMO it was not good. Loud, tinny, rattly, vibrations and didn't drive nearly as well as I expected, so I figured a 4 door would be better, but it wasn't. Drove a 2024 Wrangler and was amazed at how much better the steering is and drove a Willys home. Doesn't help you, but I bet if your wife drove a 2024, she'd trade the old one in ASAP.
@@Brotherhood676 Solid axle doesn't equal wander. For years all pickup trucks were SFA, Ford and Dodge still use them in their HD pickups. The switch to IFS was for comfort not steering. It's a Wrangler thing that they've finally pretty much worked out in the 2024s

Neither. I’ve owned Wranglers and a Gladiator. None of them are safe nor good, family vehicles. I now have an F-150 Raptor. There are so many SUVs out there that make great family vehicles.
I'm confused by your comment. But to clarify, our point is that the cost to move up from a 2-door to a 4-door is much higher with the Wrangler. For example, it's $4,600 to move from a 2-door Wrangler Sport to a 4-door Sport. Meanwhile, it's $740 to move from a 2-door Bronco Big Bend to a 4-door Big Bend. Since families will likely choose a 4-door, the Wrangler's 2-door price advantage is largely irrelevant. I'm not sure what you think we've twisted.
Buy neither. Anything this expensive should come with ALL the safety features as standard equipment. Get a Subaru Forester Wildnerness - which I do not own.
Any reason why they both not been crash tested and auto emergency brake not standard? Sounds like a death wish....reason why I moved on to Tesla. We know most people buy these 2 suvs to flex.

I believe the seats on a non-4xe hybrid wrangler recline and fold the same way as the bronco. Plus they fold flat.
That is an excellent item to note. The last two Wranglers we've reviewed have been 4xe. Good to know!
Love my '24 Badlands. wife has a '22 Rubicon 4xe and is due to trade and is leaning towards a '24 Outerbanks.
