    I was born and raised in Chicago, but after working 12 years in the financial Industry regulating the futures and options markets at the CME/CBOT I decided to pursue my passion fishing professional tournaments and left my full time corporate job. At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I've been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I've qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.

    My goal for 2024 is to finally fish all the "must have" baits I've bought over the last 3-4 years. I have piles of new baits that have never gotten wet- hard baits and plastics. So, I have made myself stop buying new baits until I fish everything I have at least once. I still have a bunch of Berkley plastics you sent me that I've never tried. I am still buying terminal tackle, but I've backed off baits for a while. I have so many plastics tbh I don't think I could ever fish them all- I need to sell a bunch. I have a Vixen I've never thrown- I'm that behind.

      @stoneysdead689 i thought I was the only one that has like 3 years worth of plastic baits/hardbaits/cranbkaits/jigs/finesse - all of the above thst I still havent used but 2024 will be the year. Side note: I ve tried all of the Berkley platics and hardbaits and its a “nay”😢. Sorry Matt for reading this. Ive transitioned to Japanese baits/plastics late in September to end of 2023 and I am getting more bites. NOT a PB but lots of small to medium-small Largemouth, bluegill and crappie. ❤

      @pequenioedgarito3067 ive heard a lot of wi guys up here SWEAR by chigger craws/bugs and honestly for my first year of learning fishing those cought me quite a few summer bass and ive seen the guys that LOVE them pull out smallies and largies from all diff places. Other than that i think jdm is the way to go in terms of soft plastics. Except the hog farmer bait he mentioned, i have a few and they are great chatterbait trailers in scenarios that youd want a trailer. And the occasional sk kvd bait, gotta love the coffee😂.

    • @stoneysdead689
      @stoneysdead689 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@insertname941 I love Berkley baits man, I do really well with them. I fish a lot of JDM stuff as well, a lot of what I've got stored that's never been fished is JDM stuff- but I would never stop using Berkley, Gambler, or Strike King, or anything else that works- I don't care where it's made.

    Hmmm ... Must have lures for 2024? I guess I'd have to go with the good ole football head swinging jig with a craw trailer. Color depends on water clarity, of course. Another one I'll always have tied on is a swimbait. Size dependent on time of the year and color depends on water clarity and the natural forage in the particular body of water.

    Maybe I'm wrong but I'm guessing it's the bait I saw a Lake Lanier shop accidentally post online a few weeks ago. Jerkbait style but the lip is inverted and pointed upward (or something like that). Remember reading the description that it was a new category of bait. It disappeared from the site shortly there after and I can't find it mentioned anywhere online now.

    • @mistertwister1816
      @mistertwister1816 8 месяцев назад +1

      Core Tackle doesn’t need Randy’s jig. Core Tackle needs to focus on making an ethically sourced jig that’s not made of toxic Lead. Randy’s Toxic Lead jigs most likely contained Lead from his own state of Missouri, home to 4 of the 5 largest active US Lead mines and at least 10 toxic Lead EPA Superfund sites related to Lead cleanup. Get the Lead out, so to speak. This happened decades ago with waterfowl shot.

    The Crush City Mayor is the most amazing soft plastic swimbait I’ve ever fished. I’ve only been bass fishing for 5 years but I’ve been fishing for over 40 years. I’ve always been told the Keitech is the way to go but this swimbait has out fished the Keitech swimbait by a large margin. I’ve been using the 3 inch size and on Christmas Eve of 2023 I caught over 50 bass and around 40 crappie using the pro blue red color and I caught every fish on the exact same swimbait using a screw lock jig head, so it is also the most durable soft plastic swimbait I’ve ever used.
