We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
Just got mine today and now I should be able to do this WITHOUT having to ask a friend for help!! Thanks for all the great info. Well done!!
Awesome. I hope you enjoy it. Glad to help. Thanks for watching
Do you like it?
@@blackbeauty8685 I'm very happy with it. I like it a lot.
I'm glad you showed the view of the doorbell on an angle from far. I was worried that it would look a little off.
Thank you for the video. Great review. I do have some feed back. I purchased the Eufy and had problems with it from the start. The video quality was so bad, you could not make out the face if they stood there long enough. The other issue I had was the system almost always started recording after the person was walking away. It never recorded when people were approaching. I worked with tech support and they sent me a replacement. The replacement did the exact same thing. Finally returned it. I was hoping it would work because I like the idea of on site storage.
Love this doorbell, way better than Ring. Best selling part is no cloud service fees! Great video
Thanks a lot. And yes, I love it. Works like a champ and no fees. I'm very happy with it
This is amazing , I have one in the post . I'd say the Ring is a 1960 Chevy Corsair and the Eufy is a spanking new Tesla . Couple of thing.... maybe your driveway alert is clashing and slowing down your doorbell alert , maybe a Torx screw would be more secure than a pin and pinch system , and lastly .. why not fix a solar panel on the roof nearby and run it free and forever style . at 6th Feb 21 it was £134 from Amazon UK , a 20% voucher too so it has come down a lot in price. And ps. Ring have been having a lot of hacking issues as well as Amazon who own them have been sharing cloud info with the cops ...and the cops are sharing stuff with other agencies , they can listen to your recording and hack live to your home conversations too. So Eufy don't cloud it or share it ... No Brainer !
Update , I just called Eufy UK and asked if they have a solar panel bespoke for the doorbell and they are working on it and will email me when they have one I can try . A few months so maybe May , Cool huh .
Good review! However I would have like to see how you set it up and connect everything and talk about when the wifi goes out does it still work because the battery?
Yes it connects directly to the base station using proprietary wireless connection
If you search for it on amazon it has a video and shows how to install.. pretty simple. :)
If your router is plugged into an outlet when the power goes out and it has no power, I would imagine the communication link would be dead because it uses your home network.
I've had my battery version installed about 10 days, but connected to my old doorbell wiring. The notifications to my phone are a little quicker than the 8-10 seconds on yours...about 4-5 seconds on mine. But wish it had the 3 second pre motion buffer on the Eufy wired version. I wanted more storage and inside my house rather than on the doorbell. Good review, first time viewer.
can you hard wire the battery version as well? are you happy with it 4 months lateR?
@@adyady3099 Yes, but it still behaves like the Battery doorbell.
Wish you would have spent a little more time talking about the local storage and how much footage 16GB of space actually translates to in reality, since 16GB of storage seems rather small for 2k footage?
And does it automatically delete the oldest footage as soon as it fills up?
I jist got one and I love it so far! Eufy also makes security cameras which I heard are great too. I'll be getting those next after I move.
I have them. Installing them this weekend. Stay tuned
Still happy with it?
@@scottb_02 yes! I highly recommend. Security cams are great too.
I love their security cameras.
Running the floodlight aswell as the 2c system
02/09/2022: They have a new two camera version coming out late February. I just pre-ordered mine. Cant wait.
Does the chime in your house come from the home base? Or did you get the “chime” device separately?
Excellent, very helpful review! I'm going to Best Buy after work to pick mine up. Staples has it for $157.99 so I was able to get a price match. I'm excited to install it and add another line of defense against porch pirates!
Awesome. Glad I could help. I hope you enjoy it when you get it. Thanks for watching and commenting
I ordered the battery operated one today with 1080P. I am not knowledgeable on these items because I kept seeing needs existing doorbell wiring and where I am moving doesn't have a doorbell so I went battery. Wish it was 2K but 1080P is still great quality.
Thanks to this video I felt comfortable with the purchase and next month will set it up.
Buy the 2k one why you complaining.
@@spike378 Who said I'm complaining besides you?
Just so happened to be my luck I find an upgraded one right after I buy the one I bought. I'm happy with the purchase either way.
@@MidnightSky1821 you mention you wish it was 2k one but this review is for 2k camera. I'm confused why didn't you just go get the 2k doorbell
@@spike378 Because I didn't see it when shopping for it?
Great review, I've been looking for a video doorbell without subscription and a data company logging every delivery. Will check it out.
Ive had one of these for about 2 years. I really do not have any issues. My main problem/concern is that they do not respond to emails, and they have never updated the software (firmware, or app). Software-wise the issues I find are - they do not automatically delete old alerts, so it will fill up your phone and you have to go day by day to delete.
WiFi range has not been an issue for me. It has never gone offline. Really good product.
New to your channel but Great review! I've Subscribed! Looking forward to future reviews, I appreciate your level of detail while not creating a 40min vid!
Have you considered pairing this with eufys security cameras? I'm curious if they would all run off the same home base and app?
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. I will find out in a few days. The eufy cameras are supposed to be here at the beginning of next week! So I'll let you know. I'm guessing it will though. I just recently got the security door lock and it integrates to the same station
Great review, think I will buy that Eufy 2K version. Having a person ring our doorbell after midnight and by the time I I can put on my jumper and ready my baseball bat, the person is gone. Want to see who the person is.
Haha. Be careful.
Looks really good, I'm going to get one, thanks for the review!
You're welcome. Glad I could help. Thanks for watching
Eufy makes some great products. The delay is a little long but a lot of it have it. Good review.
One thing I should have captured better was that it actually records sooner than the delayed notification. Maybe it will improve with updates but even though the notification is a little slow when you go back to look at the video it's sooner
I’ve had this doorbell for a week now and I’m disappointed at the noticeably delayed or missing notifications
Thank you for the video. I recently purchase "Ring" and I am returning it because my voice sounds very low on the device itself. I went online and saw many customer complain about the same thing. It was mentioned that it depends on the phone so I am returning it because I am not going to buy a new phone after spending $200 on RING, it doesnt make sense. My question to you is, have you experienced this? on Eufy. I'm searching around and looking for other products like Ring but the battery opperated one. Have you have any issues with the recording? I read peoples reivews and some have said that it will start recording after the person leaves your door?
Does it work with apple HomeKit...that’s what I’m looking for? Great video
no, it doesn't work, i thought it was but only homebase and 2c cameras are compatible with Apple HomeKit
Thank you so much for your good time, I do bought it on Amazon 2 days ago 😊.
God bless you
You're welcome. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful
Still happy with it?
@@scottb_02 absolutely. I love it. Works like a champ
Can you turn off the outdoor audio tone? Ridiculous to let your neighbours know whenever you have visitors so they can have a nosy each time your doorbell rings.
Have you found the answer to that?
@@spike378 no I just bought a different one instead
@@Hashterix ok i tried it. You can turn down the volume outside on doorbell but it also turn down the audio for talking which is really stupid
That’s what doorbells do...I don’t get it hahaha
@@bigbossignition Doorbells are supposed to ring inside the house, not outside the house.
Just bought, do I need to plug this into Ethernet or does the base work over WiFi? Edit: found out yes, you can use the home base on WiFi but to set it up you must connect to Ethernet first
Wifi connection is smae as LAN internet connection.(wireless vs. wired) your router upload speed be higher than 2MB/s for smooth video display. I am installing wired version.Waiting for heavier doorbell transformer to start.
What happens if your wifi goes down? (powercut or just broadband issues) Will the doorbell still ring without saving the recording?
It saves the recording to the base station. So works without wifi and internet.
Do you need a homebase for this to work?
What is the FOV of the camera? And how long can it record before overwriting older clips? And can the wired version connect to an existing chime already installed in the house?
If you wire up the battery version do you also get the Wired version options? like continuous recording/video streaming? for including the 3 second buffer if somebody presses the doorbell so that the 3 seconds before that are included as well?
No, its still battery fed. It just trickle charges it so you don't have to remove it for charging. I wish it made a difference but it doesn't.
I usually have about a 2 seconds delay with motion it might have been longer for you because of the other notification
Great review loved how your wife was playing Animal Crossing 🤣
Haha. Thanks. Yes. We both used to play a lot.
@@TechOdyssey I still play 😂 I will have a good look on your channel but did you ever review the RING doorbell?
@@lola1234342 No, sorry. I haven't reviewed the Ring doorbell.
Nice door bell review. Gotta google about it for more info 😁
hey, new to your channel. Great review. I hope you don't mind answering this question:
1) You mind telling if there is a possibility of somehow connecting also a monitor which will permanently be in a room, which will instantly get the video feed when the button on the front camera is pressed?
thank you in advance
Nice flow and review, but how's the night time video?
Why would you need a camera at the front door if you can access the video doorbell on live mode at anytime? Just curious.
Wider coverage and a different angle.
What's to stop some else using a security pin, or paperclip to detach the camera and walk off with it?
How many people can get the notification that the door bell is being pressed?
Ie: Doorbell on a gated rural property with multiple houses and persons. Can all persons linked to the doorbell / app see ?? Cant seem to find this in any review
Hi,
Thank you for the demo, really helpful.
A couple of things unclear to me:
- is the interaction possible through the homebase?
- is the interaction possible through Alexa?
- does it ring through Alexa?
Idea would be to have Alexa downstairs (where it is now) and put the homebase upstairs, so that when someone rings we can interact from these two places in the house... without using always the phone.
Thank you in advance for your answer!
Yes you are correct. They both can announce the alerts. Jusy enable the skill with Alexa app.
@@-Dwight-Schrute thank you. And can we speak in the home base? I mean as interphone?
Also does the homa base work as a chime.
Thanks
Will you be reviewing the Best Buy exclusive eufy doorbell pro which has 32Gb local storage and 5 day 24/7 continuous recording?
I think so. Waiting for confirmation
I've had one of these for nearly 2 year and up to a few months ago had no problems with it. But recently it will not connect to the base station. I brought a new Doorbell but have have received 2 each with a problem with them.
The chime that you hear inside the house, is that coming from the home base or the pre existing chime from your old doorbell?
Nice! That's a good deal.
@@TechOdyssey
What the hell??
@@adictiveadictive The chime comes from the Homebase station.
How fast can you access the recorded videos on the home base after the motion sensor sets off?
First of all thank you so much for your detailed video.
I do have a quick question / issue on Homebase2 connection to my router.
I do have tp-link Deco X20 mesh system, when I try to connect my homebase2 with the internet , it has blue blinking light only and then I could see error message "Network Exception, please try again later."
With an error screen titled "Unable to add HoemBase2".
Could you please help me out? I tried everything reset, unplug power cable, router restart, reset button on homebase2 but it just keep blinking blue led. Help would be highly appreciated 🙏🏼
I am loving my ring pro 2 😅
Cool deal
Thanks for this good review, What is the max range between the base and the doorbell please?
Hey I know this is late, but they both connect to your WiFi, so as long as both can reach your WiFi router somewhat. It should be good
Great review. Thanks.
You're welcome. Glad I could help!
how long does it take for the video to come up after someone rings the doorbell. My ring is so slow it is useless.
Several seconds. The notification is slightly delayed.
Thanks for the review. Will the Homebase work with an alternative longer cable connected to router as we wont hear the doorbell upstairs if the Homebase is next to our router with the provided cable
should i have wifi at home to check who is ringing if im away ?
You mentioned that the battery didn't quite last 180 days so how long did it last for you?
Great information thanks so much
Hi, smartphone notifications and intercom features needs internet? I mean .. Can they be used just on the same wifi?
I believe it needs internet - can’t confirm though. Would have to test it. If you’re away from home obviously it needs internet lol. But, I haven’t tried unplugging my modem to test if you can use it solely on wifi
Good video, but lacks the detailed information on setting up and using this item.
Do you use Apple’s HomeKit, heard they just became compatible and is wondering if it works good or not?
Nice Review I may get one
Thanks. And thanks for watching
Is the home base worth it? I don't really want to use the interactive voice option, I just want a video recording doorbell. But I may also buy the smart flood light and maybe a camera. Can I link all of these to the non home base storage chime? (Looks like a febreeze wall mount with 2 antennas)
Is_the_base_station_wireless_to_the_internet_as_well?
When you get the notification on your phone and you click on is there any more delay before you see the camera?
Thanks, super helpful.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching
Would I be able to answer guests from anywhere (without being on Wifi)?
Yes it is on box
@@deckthehalls8767 thanks. I bought it. Awesome product 👍🏻
CAN I USE ONE HOME BASE FOR THE DOORBELL( WIRED) AND OUTSIDE CAMERA?
How long are the video recordings? Is it comparable to Ring? pls say no 😖
I would like to ask if you can use the app on different device at the same time. I heard that some app do not allow it because of security reasons
Ok so if u get motion alert like someone walking up to your door, will it pull up a live feed so u can see who it is?
Yes it will. You'll get a notification and that have to open it.
One cuestión my friend?I have battery door bell eufy.and I want to know if I can add cameras at the same home base of door bell.
Bought it from you review thanks
Nice! Glad it was helpful. I love mine. It's fantastic
What are the 2 screw in the back of bell for please
Great review. What’s the paint color called on the exterior that the door bell is mounted to? The grey color
Thank you. Also, I’ll have to ask my wife. I’m not sure. Lol
Try Revere Pewter BM -this is the color of my entire house
Cape Cod Grey
Hi mate. I have a Lenovo google smart hub. Can I view my eufy doorbell camera from the hub. Do you know if it will automatically show the front door on the google hub when the doorbell rings??
Does the blue led around the button stay on at night?
Thanks!
You bet!
Fitted one of these for a lady and the battery lasted less that ten days. Drilled through the door and put the charge lead in and the lady charges it by plugging in the USB to the home base near the door. It shows it is charging. I also pushed hot 4mm ( long ) screws (x4) from glasses 👓 into the side casing so the camera cannot now pop off and be robbed as it is a town house with front door on the street, no garden. I will glue gripper rod tacks to mine on the sides to stop it being ripped off.
Am I the only one who got distracted by the fact that the person inside was about to start playing Animal Crossing??
Where does he indoor chime ring at? Does it come with an indoor speaker?
On the doorbell itself and also the chime inside which is the base station and connects to your router.
Compatibile Apple HomeKit???
is it possible to put my own bell sound ?
hi could you share the spec for the ac adaptor for the homebase 2 so i can see if i can get a third party UK type ac adaptor for it?
Can I use the 2K model as 1080 because I have slow internet? Now 2K and 1k area almost the same price.
Yes you can
Will it work with existing chime or have to replace the chime also?
It may but I'm not sure because I don't have an existing doorbell. It connects to the same wires that would normally power the doorbell though.
Is there a monthly fee? Does it have free cloud storage?
No monthly fee. That's one of the selling point of the brand , and also the base has 16gb for local storage
Am I understanding correctly that the wired doorbell stores footage within the doorbell (which can easily be stolen) and the battery doorbell stores footage in the hub (inside the house, therefore, much more secure)?
Yes
Is it water/rainproof?
Can you get multiple indoor chimes? Example, one in the main floor and the other for use in another room where it might be hard to hear the chime say in the basement?
No one has a setup video of this wireless door bell but with wires
I don't have wires so I can't set it up that way
Interesting video, since I'm looking for a better alternative to my Ring doorbell. For this eufy doorbell, does anybody know -- does it use the internet at all? I believe it would use my household wifi network to send video from the doorbell to the base unit. As I understand it, that doesn't involve the internet, just my household wifi network. But how does it send videos or doorbell alerts to your phone? Does it use the internet for that, or does it use cellular phone network to send it? This is an important question for me, because my internet service goes out frequently. My household wifi network is fine, but my internet often goes down (rendering my Ring doorbell useless). Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer.
How well does it work when it is minus 30 Celsius outisde
Mine worked when it got that cold but not sure how long it will work in sub-freezing temperatures.
I want to know that i have this door bell with home base and i want to add surveillance camera do i need a new home base with cameras or i can use the same home base
Thank you in advance
You can use the same base. I’m still using mine. I didn’t setup the new one. Still on the box.
@@TechOdyssey thank you so much for your quick response
No worries. Best of luck.
If you connect the 2 pins on the doorbell to a transformer what's the best power in voltage, 12 volts?
I don’t know what the voltage is on that. It should be whatever the standard voltage already on the connections for the doorbell
@@TechOdyssey I took a shot and with my 220v to 12 v transformer the Doorbell works ok!
16V at 30 VA.
Can you connect it with multiple devices?
By devices you mean phones or tablets to access the cameras using the app? If so, yes. You can
Does it work with Google home?
How many phone can you add to this doorbell
No secure mounting method so someone could just pull it off and run away with it? Nope...
@4:19
What if you got the home base for the outdoor cameras, do you need to connect both home base for cameras and doorbell or do they connect to one?
They connect to the same base. I have my floodlight, doorbell, and cameras all on the same base station
@@TechOdyssey thank you for answering!! Is this doorbell compatible with HomeKit?
@@kingplayz_yt9553 no worries. That's a good question. I'm going to be completely honest here. I have never used homekit before. I would have to look around and find the answer to that
What is the wireless doorbell chime mean? On A Amazon purchase it says add for 20 dollars
I haven't seen that. As long as it has the base station it has the built in chime
@@TechOdyssey Thank you for the reply. I really enjoyed your review. I think this is A 2nd receiver that runs on the bluetooth signal. As it looks you have to have the door bell camera wired to have this feature work. This is how I see it.
@@rickgray5731 The chime for sale by itself is really just for the wired only doorbell, because your original chime in house gets all the power robbed from it and it will not work as a chime anymore. It gives you a new chime wherever you need it instead.
I just saw with lifehacker about the 2 way audio; he says there is a delay. Do you find that to be the fact now that it's 6 months later? he did his review in Feb of 2020.
Love it
Thanks
Hey man is there an option to lower the volume coming out the doorbell? I live in a condo and have 3 neighbors pretty close to me and it seems to be pretty loud in your video,
