The fact that they fed their kids so much that they couldn't get through the opening is so funny. Might have to build the next house to be chubby bird friendly. 😂
I have had the pleasure of having a bird nest near my bedroom window for the last 6 years, hearing the baby birds chirping is adorable. Our yard is very active with birds all year round and it provides great entertainment for not only me but my cats as well! I finally put a cat hammock on my bedroom window and now it’s the perfect place to bird watch. As I have grown older I have found such an appreciation for birds and see why my grandma loved them so much.
I am the same. We have a large feeder suction-cupped to one kitchen window and I like to sit at the counter and watch them, up close. They’re fascinating creatures.
Right in front of my doorstep, on the drain pipe for the last 2 summers a momma bird has her babies there. I recorded them last year and she's currently there right now with the new chicks she just had , it's cool
This proves that when a mating pair feel their nest is safe, they will lay more eggs! I've heard that and this totally supports it! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing video and for what you did for this birdie family! What a great video to show kids! Way to go mom and dad, and human host family!👏🙌👍🫶
When brushing your animals fur, toss the fur into your yard. Birds actually love to collect it, and build nests with it. I have a hummingbird nest made of all my dogs fur, and it is one of my most meaningful objects. Also, Mazel Tov to the little birdie family. May they, and their wee babies always be blessed!
@@journeywithnichole please think twice about that one of my finches got a long piece of hair wrapped around his toe. It cut off the circulation, and his toe fell off. Thank God there was no infection.
@stizelswik3694 please think twice about that. One of my finches lost a toe because of a long piece of hair they got wrapped around it. Thank God there was no infection, but it actually could’ve killed him.
Not human hair, there's a video of a poor mama and her babies that got twisted in human hair and the babies didn't make it. It's from one of the people that have the burgers monitors on I can't remember who it was. Human hair can act like thin string and can be impossible to cut with their beaks.@stizelswik3694
@@teresahaugen3974 oh my, thank you so much for that information! Wonder if that would happen with dog, cat or goat hair? Maybe there’s a different instinct with wild birds. I have seen them grab the whole wad of hair & take it straight to their nest. They instinctively grab what they like & know.
I had birds made their nests on my window, i can hear the babies yapping all day long until it was dark and i had the pleasure of seeing (peeking) them grew and left the nest. Beautiful noise i'd say! It was such a lovely experience for me who live in a city
What a perfect bird home.!!!! Beautiful, spacious, light comes in, they can see out, it's protected from the elements, what more could a little feathered family want.? It was a delight to watch this. Thank you. God bless you and yours. Stay safe.
Lovely. My favourite humans are the ones who help wildlife. Little things like putting out fresh water or leaving dead plants/flowerheads in your garden over the winter so the birds have seeds to eat--can make a huge difference to the wildlife around you. 💖💖💖
In memory of my Parakeets that we had..is the most precious and priceless moment of the birds once they become parents they take turns on incubating the eggs and feeding them. ❤.. thank you for this precious video..

A very beautiful documentation of a Bird Family...😄 From day1, 'til the last day they leave their Nest...❤ Very responsible Parents...👍 A nice Short Film for the Kids... 😊😊😊
@stizelswik3694 Yes but it would be amusing to watch. Making some miniatures is easy and very cheap when using natural materials. Twigs and brown craft paper and string...
This sounds awesome! 😎 They'll be inviting magazines round to do those home tours that celebrities do! 😂💖 I'm not trying to be one of those negative moaners when I say this, just trying to help as I can see that you want to help our feathered friends out. I volunteer in wildlife rescue and, from experience, ask you to please, please only use furniture/items that the birds can't get stuck in. No holes that little legs can get in, or any type of string/twine that doesn't snap as easily as grass. The reason is that they can harm the chicks. Chicks grow really quickly and often, in small nests, don't move too much to start with, so often grow touching the same bedding. Therefore a hole that their legs might be able to get in and out of easily at first could be something that they keep their leg in for a few days and then it gets stuck as they grow, which can be catastrophic. The worst one is twine that doesn't easily break. We had a case where a mama owl had made her nest and, amongst the natural fibres, used a few pieces of polypropylene rope that had broken down into individual strings. As the chicks grew, it wrapped around two of their legs (one on each chick, tying them together), slowly got tighter, and cut the blood supply off so the legs became necrotic (died). They fell out of the nest as they couldn't fly (due to being attached). It took a while for them to be found and so they didn't make it. This is why I implore everyone - if you see anything that's string-like and not easily breakable (string, twine, plastic ribbon, etc), please pick it up and pop it in the bin. You could save a life 💖
@@t-and-p I was thinking of using twigs from storm debris around my area. No glue either. Have to dig out my bird house book and get correct info for my "local" birds.
@@melindajohnson3394 Sounds fab! 🤩 Most bigger birds tend to like twigs to get the outer structure and weave in some grasses to hold it together (smaller birds will often use harder grasses like reeds). Then it's soft stuff to line it, that they can mould and shape (like moss, pet fur, grasses) to make it comfortable. Wool (not the acrylic sort, ypu want yarn made of natural materials to avoid microplastics) or cotton that's pulled apart into what my nephew calls "fluffy clouds" (to stop it being an entanglement hazard) goes down a storm, as does any dead hair from after you've brushed (so long as you can pull and snap it). Looking into what works for your local birds is an awesome idea and incredibly kind. Thank you for caring and looking after the feathereds! 😎💖
