Came across this while researching media buying. Honest feedback --> You spend the first minute of the vid telling us who you were, not about media buying. You spent the next minute defining the two different media types (not sure why though). Then you spent the next minute making a cake analogy to something you still haven't clearly defined. At exactly 3:57, you tell us what you hope to do for the customer. At this point, I hoped more nitty gritty details would follow, but at 4:18, you immediately leave that topic and go on to explain how great your company is. Then I realized that you did not give clarity to the questions laid forth in your video caption and video description. Cake analogy was decent though. Keep doing it!
I actually found this video helpful as an overview - which I think is her point. I also think it was a great piece to share to people that want to know more about her, working with her. Now to your point, for a video or someone that wants to learn more about the nitty gritty that I was looking for (and maybe other people are too) no it didn't do that.... so I want to say good feedback but more importantly, great video that I think serves the purpose she needs :)
Thank you for this! I'm an (organic) social media manager looking to boost my career and I figured merging organic and paid would be a great next step. This gave me a clearer understanding of what I need to do.
Hi Onion, I was surprised to find someone in the same situation looking to merge organic and paid media in the next step pursuing a paid media planning/buying role. Saw that this comment was from a year ago, wondering if you have landed a job in paid media already? How’s it going?
Got an interview for a Media Buyer position and there's a commissions plan alongside a base salary. Is commission normal in the industry? Can someone elaborate a bit on this please?
Although I don’t talk about “new consumer classification system” in my video, I did a little research and found that it is a system used to classify households in India. In regards to your second question, media research is researching the various forms media can take (TV, radio, billboard, print, direct mail, email marketing, digital marketing, etc.) and using that information to decide what’s best for advertisers.
While we haven't heard that term used before, media buyers and media sales reps both implement, or coordinate, the recommended campaigns. Hope that helps!
I absolutely love the cake recipe analogy. That's a perfect way to communicate this line of work. Thank you so much!!!

I just heard of "media buying" about 10 minutes ago. I feel like this was Media Buying 103 or 104. I still don't understand what it is.
Clearly this is an older video however as a new media manager for a large brand this was informative. Thanks
How did you become a media manager?

Is media buyer title same as media implementer?
While we haven't heard that term used before, media buyers and media sales reps both implement, or coordinate, the recommended campaigns. Hope that helps!
