Written by John about his wife, with whom he has six children, unsure how many grandchildren by now, and as far as I know still living in the same place he bought with his first big cheque from Queen. Fred hated the electric piano and just couldn't get on with it, so John took it away and taught himself
John Deacon wrote this on an electric piano Freddie gave to him, John wrote this for his wife, they have been married for 49 years this year and have 6 children.
The electric piano was part of the studio equipment. Freddie didn’t like it and refused to use it. So John took it home to work on teaching himself how to play keyboards. During the process of John’s at-home self-teaching, he decided to write a song about his bride (they were newly married and expecting their first baby). John and Veronica celebrated their 49th anniversary on Thursday (Jan 18th).
The song has been used in several commercials, not too sure about tv shows or soundtracks. John was the lighthearted writer of the bunch and wrote some real winners. It was on "A Night at the Opera" their fourth album, so 74 or 75 was the year. Thanks for all the reactions!
Their first two albums when they were just getting popular in the early-mid-70s. So good. The rest was no surprise and amazing, but I still love that original Queen sound from when I was 16.
Yes...that line “I’m happy at home”.....that didn’t suit Roger...got married and had children...left his wife and took up with someone else...didn’t marry that woman and had more children with her....left and got married to someone else....what a prince!
Awwww love this song!! The music video was filmed in 1976 in a huge ballroom surrounded by over a 1,000 candles, including a large chandelier. It has been featured in television, film, and other media, such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Break-Up, & Shaun Of The Dead, to name a few! 👩❤️👨 👫👯♀️

According to Roger he hated the line 'I'm happy at home' and said it's not rock and roll lyrics. Look at his face at 3:15 when he sings it 😆.
