He took responsibility as a captain, but he never took responsibility with Jimmy. (I'm saying this bc of what happened between Anya and Jimmy and the fact that Curly knew and decided to side with his friend.) If it happened once I find it difficult to believe it didn't happen before too. Not ingame, but i think it's a possibility. That's how those kind of relationships go. Jimbabwe wanted to be captain, and he became one. Now, he has to take responsibility. But Curly could have prevented all of this if he had taken responsibility with Jimbabwe. (Not taking care of him. That's different. Just talking things out with him and not letting Jimmy get hiw way.)
I think Curly's biggest flaw is that he tries to see the good in bad people. He tried to see the good in Jimmy, who also had been his best friend for years, and that ended badly. Curly definitely wasn't the best person, but he also didn't deserve what happened to him.
What sucks is people often forgetting Curly is not a good guy. He did nothing when Anya confessed to him, and continued to allow Jimmy to be in her presence. Regardless of what it was, his job as captain was to protect his crew; and he failed to protect the one person who needed him most when he should've. Yet somehow, a good chunk of the fandom still downplays his role as an apologist and lack of action. It was most definitely directed at both of them. It's like, you can like a character and NOT completely undermine them AS that character because they're "attractive" or "he tried" (he didn't)
You know it's a well written character when the whole fandom hates them (Credits to the developers and writers for realistically making Jimmy a total self-centered, manipulative monster that refused to take responsibility)
I'm so pleased that this fandom is giving Imogen Heap a bit of a revival, I loved her music when I was a teen & it's great to see a new generation of folks find her!
