He says to tune the high first and that the high will adjust the mixture overall but he is using a ys120 where it's the MID needle that controls most of the fuel flow and the high only comes in above around 80% throttle and on a 120 even flying hard it will rarely be on the high. His tuning method is correct if it was an OS though which is what the majority of people run.

I need this guy to help me damn he knows his stuff, I just aquired a Bergen Intrepid Magnum 90 , however It has everything onnthe bird even a reciver, but still need to buy a transmitter for it believe it needs a 9 channel as well as a glow plug igniter, have the Hobbico torque master 90, I am a newbie to nitro and never fired it up as I fly Electric 450 V2 3D Helicopter. Right now its just a beautiful show piece as it appears to never been flown.

This is interesting, I am a surface nitro guy, so it's interesting to see what characteristics make up a good tune in air. For surface, we call it a 'race tune'...I imagine the principals are the same good crisp low end, smooth transition throught mid range, clean out, screaming its tits off up top...then immediately snapping back to a low, reliable idle. Surface has a lot of start/stop, start/stop so getting through the entire RPM range quickly (i.e. smoothly) as possibly is key.

You say when it's hot you lean the mixture. When a motor is run lean it runs hotter... is this correct, you lean when it's hot?

Steve Kennett yes you run leaner needle settings when it's hot outside. Hot air is less dense so you need less fuel to keep the same fuel/air ratio. In hot weather your engine will run hotter. This is why engines love the cold!

The tuning is with the governor on or off?.

Marcos Sallua you want to leave the governor on...this is why hes loading the engine doing climbs and hurricanes which require more horsepower and the governor will increase throttle

Hi Clinton. Finless bob here. I am going to start putting all my vids on RUclips and monetize my channel for ads. Can I ask that you remove these videos from you channel please? I will repost them on mine so they are out there. Thanks man.. I appreciate it.
