Why do all of you people have to be so mean and negative?! How about instead of saying how you don't like this music or the choreography, you could congratulate her on a job excellently done? Gabby: I love this routine and a MASSIVE congratulations!
jtg8811 cuz they can't criticize her on the thing so many really wanted to happen: Gabby Douglas failing. Instead she SLAYED the competition with cool reserve. Lol ppl gotta be mad about something else then.
(and i didn't even like this choreo but i just came here to say a goddamn job well done Gabby because she looked nothing like this in PT)
jtg8811 because I think Gabby deserves better than this in a routine! I thought her Jesolo mix and choreography suited her comeback much better- a more mature routine all around. this just wasn't as good for me, but that's my opinion
kb1025 okay but u realize this is her jesolo choreography with different music right? The only difference is the ending. I loved the Mascara soundtrack she used at Jesolo as well but she just scored a 15 on floor (!) and ppl are always focusing on the negative with her. Like all the russians have shitty remixed music all quad, but somehow we manage to just focus on the performance and not care too much about it. Or at least we'll say we hate the music but also list what was good in the routine. A lot of these comments are fair criticisms when they stand alone, but they're overwhelming to read one after the other. So much negativity on just one aspect of the floor routine.
Anyways, i exempt you from being a petty hater :)

Putting aside the fact that I happen to think this is a much better routine than Jesolo primarily because she is very clearly happier with it, thinking "she deserves better" is no reason at all to be mean and catty. I do not believe in any way that all of these people are being mean because they want better for her. People are mean because they want to be mean--plain and simple. And anyone who makes excuses for this kind of unwarranted and nonsensical behavior is just as culpable. Practicing kindness is ALWAYS the right way to go.
jtg8811 oh, I completely agree with you that people should always be kind and that they need to cool it on the cattiness. however, I would also argue that Gabby-stans see anyone making a critique, or simply expressing a preference for one routine or another, and label those people as "haters," when it's completely not the case.
say whatever you want about her, but you can't deny those landings were amazing.
This song is written about Brazil...specifically Rio...so I think it fits her goals pretty well.

Why would people dislike such a great routine?? I mean all I can do is a cartwheel and a 1 hand cartwheel. So basically nothing. However, its like.... She's amazing!
Her difficulty has grown and she looks stronger than ever in this regard. Very clean tumbling. The Jesolo mix was better, but c'mon people, this is hardly as bad as you're making it sound. In fact, there are things to like about it (it's Shakira, y'all). I think Gabby needs sometime to grow into it. Sheesh, calm down.
withlove312 Yeah, I agree. This is no where near as bad her 2012 music. I also prefer the Jesolo mix, but I think this really suits Gabby regardless. I think it will be better when she "performs" it more as she had less smiles than usual. Tonight, I think she was on a mission to prove to everyone that this is the real deal. She definitely did in my opinion.

new floor routine for her... maybe/hopefully she'll get a new one again before Rio that suits her even better but I am happy that this routine looks better than the one she competed at Jesolo this year.
webinuri i noticed that all of the buckeyes gymnasts did very well on FX. I'm sad Nia left because her scores on 3 events are lower than last year and a real disappointment from the potential ppl thought she showed.
***** has it come out yet why Nia left? I was shocked that she did as well.
webinuri meh she was just unhappy that she was left off of the panams team which last year wouldve been an easy assignment for her but this year she couldnt even make a mixed B/C team. So time for a gym change when that happens. Altho, long before the injury Nia was always inconsistent but I heard she bombed at camp and according to legacy elite, she's out of shape to boot, which is why she scratched floor.
She was apparently frustrated with the coach's lack of ability to coach her through pressure situations (hence her inconsistency) and I believe she has a family friend or relative of some sort in the Chicago area so she can stay with them while training at legacy elite.

"oh wait you don't do gymnastics" what childish sarcasm... They do gymnastics for show, for being seen and judged. If someone doesn't like a song, it's not the fact of not doing gymnastics that will impede him of say it. So, in your mind, just who has a floor music can criticize another floor music?
Love it. Love the music and the choreo. Now her expression could use a little work and hopefully Gabby will get those turns under control - and eventually upgrade some on the tumbling. But a great start! :)
You know, Gabby may not (not saying anything for certain, anything can happen) have individual Olympic success again, but her comeback here is definitely real. If she keeps this up, she can provide Team USA with solid team scores at the next Olympics and get herself (and her teammates) another gold. Maybe she won't be back-to-back Olympic champion, but I'm sure back-to-back team champion wouldn't be too bad :P

That was an medal winning floor routine to me if she does that routine as well as she did tonight at the trials then she is definitely on the hunt to making another Olympic team!
Gabby is one of the greatest USA gymnast of all times....... Come on she could have quit after 2012 but it looks like she is after another medal in 2016 our own little Nadia......... I am proud of her and Aly..... Kyla need to up her start vaules asap before she is left off the team at worlds...... Bailey Simone Gabby Aly Maggie and either Kyla or MyKayla are my guesses for worlds
Nastia, Shawn, Bross, Sloan, Biles, Raisman, Maroney, Miller, Ross and Sacramone are all imo better, as well as being more accomplished. To say Gabby is one of USAs best when they have produced athletes like Shannon Miller is silly.
Maroney? Bross? Sloan? and Raisman? She only has one AA title to her name...Gabby has at least 3 of those ending in GOLD and Silver AA at World's.
Now 2x Olympian and 3x gold medalist.....Can't say the same for Maroney, Bross OR Sloan...Bye hater.

Simply Ash wow really. All around champion? Simone is performing so good that she deserves a platinum medal lol. Simone is the world all around champion two times in a row and she haven't lost since I don't remember lol.
Are you sure this is Gabby? She isnt smiling as much as she did in the olympics.
Internationally she would have scored near 8.500 in E. She looks very confident and strong.
I think she's trying to show everyone that she's grown up a bit but she's still a great gymnast. Not that my opinion counts, but I like her make up better now that some of it has worn off.
I can't wait to see her performing the 1,5 twist to triple again. She needs it in this routine. However she has all the time she wants. Smart choice to begin upgrading dance elements instead of doing difficult tumbling

I actually really like the music. It suits her style, and I think she thought really far ahead in the case that she makes the Rio team, as this song holds great significance in Brazil.

Well, it wasn't her best, but it wasn't her worst either. The fact that this was given a higher score than Raisman's (even with the fall) is crazy to me.

Eh.. that's a hard task I think she's just trying to make it to Rio. She also will have huge competition Simone (unbeatable) Larissa (wildcard) Mustafina (Queen) all three i don't see her beating and we don't really know who else will emerge..scores at this meet where a little iffy if u ask me..
I think both for RUS and ROM are hard to increase D value!! But Aliya is more artistic yet current code doesn't encourge that! Anyway, Gabby looks good! She returns to her elite level so short!!

It's hard to tell! Because Aliya is metally very strong and experienced. But after Baku, unless Aliya increases all her D value, it's not easy for Aliya to be ahead of Gabby. But I hope Aliya can do better!

I like the staccato movements a lot, but the non-staccato parts could use a little amping up. This is a fairly new routine it seems, though. Can't expect too much when you change during the season.
At this point, returning Olympians should be at 80% according to Marta. And she is above that. She just needs to maintain consistency and add some more difficulty.

I'm not a gymnast myself, but I just thought this routine didn't fit her. You can always tell when people are "comfortable" and I could see a difference in her aura between this routine and 2012 Olympics routine. But then again, it is the Olympics.

My friend has this as her floor music and I have to say that my friends dance parts are way better
yeah she was good and all but yep extremely overrated. let's just see how the international judges have to say... not saying that she's bad or anything but you can never trust the scoring at these American meets.

Her and Skinner's music are genuinely irritating to hear. Imagine listening to them 500 times.
This routine is so awful, the music, the choreography, the spins, argh. Tumbling is good, massively overscored here, but good. So sad that she'll probably use this music in Rio.
She's a terrible dancer and has zero emotion on her face. Her routine desperately needs some personality before an international event.
