The first one was from the Rudolph-Ising era. The second was after and featured the first bullseye. The third was common throughout the Golden Age of Looney Tunes, and the last was from the Dark era, which was also used from Looney Tunes cartoons from 1963-1969, even from Warner Bros- Seven Arts.
I agree. That version was by far the snazziest and most exciting, and I think Stalling erred in changing it after that. The 1945-54 version feels so tepid in comparison.

So MM stated using the rings before looney tunes did, that's interesting. They were also in colour earlier too.
