A few tips for speedrunning: 1. do it on easy difficulty, hard makes you lose hunger much more quickly and you can't afford to spend time gathering food in a speedrun (hay bales for bread is good) 2. reset your run every time you get a bad seed 3. ruined portals, villages (i think acacia is best), and desert temples are really good off spawn 4. iron bucket is a must, as is flint & steel 5. practice speedrunner portals, speed crafting, and bed cycles 6. watch pro speedrunners, study how they play and try to mimic that. this is probably the most important thing i can tell you, as this will give you a much more comprehensive understanding of precisely what to do 7. wear 1 piece of gold armour in the nether to avoid being attacked by piglins 8. learn more about water physics, they can be weird sometimes 9. learn bastion routes to get the most gold, which you use to trade for pearls 10. use boats to negate fall damage in the nether 11. learn pearl triangulation to find the stronghold quickly and without wasting eyes 12. make sure you pick the best update to speedrun, as some versions are quicker than others, and some versions have different methods 13. im not sure how but i think you can get a program that will automatically time you in game just a few things to keep in mind, as i am not a speedrunner im not particularly well versed in the more technical aspects of it but you should definitely put some proper research into it edit: you should also make sure to learn more simple mechanics and strategies, such as flowing lava turning into cobblestone, whereas lava source blocks will become obsidian also never waste time mining for iron and dont worry about trying to get a world record, id say anything under 20 mins is pretty impressive

I know Danny probably won't see this, but a HUGE part of Minecraft speedruns is chance. Basically you just have to load a good seed. Some speedruns will choose a good seed but some just randomize until they find one. So don't feel bad that you couldn't brute-force it. There is talent involved but you also want a good seed

Danny actually got me into minecraft. Used to think that the game was cringe and boring without even trying it. But after seeing him play it it actually looked fun so i tried it. Now i have 2000 hours in it lol.
If I'd known he was going to stream I would have watched and I'd have had to say something. I think Danny has said that part of the reason he stopped streaming games was because of some of the comments. Some people on Twitch are just plain rude and they try to "help" by scolding him. Some people, and I would include myself, do find it hard to just "banter" with people, and people's words and comments, even if they're not trying to be hurtful, still hurt; it's rejection sensitive dysphoria. For me it came from years and years of bullying that in some cases was laughed off as "jokes", but I was always the butt of the joke. I don't know if Danny experienced anything like that, but even if he didn't, he could still be experiencing rejection sensitive dysphoria.

I get the same thing when I'm in danger in video games. Now, I've played a metric ton of games and I'm pretty good at most of them after 20+ years of gaming every day, but it took me many years to realize that the best players are the ones who aren't afraid to die and start over a lot. Especially in these types of games with randomly generated worlds and lots of different systems, you've gotta experiement a lot to learn the rules, and that's often at the risk of losing health or dying. You could probably take that lesson and make a profound statement about the importance of taking risks, or something. Edit: *most of the games I've played. I'm not good at most games out of all games ever made (unfortunately).
get lots of hay from the village, you will need food to survive. you can also kill the hoglins to get pork yumyum all you have to do is make a wooden pick axe and then find stone to make other stone tools, making a wooden sword or axe wouldn’t be useful if you have stone nearby. try to check most of the chests in the village (esp the structure made out of cobble stone that has a furnace and some lava, sometimes they will have diamonds or iron assassinate iron daddy sand biomes or dry biomes for lava pooools if you find a desert temple then go and check it out, it has ores most of the time for getting flint, you can pick up one block of gravel and if it doesn’t drop flint you can place it down again and break it until it gives you flint make gold boots cause they use the least amount of gold (and you can look rich) nether sucks, i think you just have to get lucky to find the fortress quickly if you spawn in the poopy basalt biome, then immediately rage quit. i lost so many worlds to that biome. for killing the blaze, they take some time to charge up their fire balls and in that time you can hit them without getting burnt if you open a chest of a bastion in front of a piggy they will attack you for ender pearls you can trade with the piglins and can go to the blue forest biome to kill ender men there are tons of other things u can learn online, btw danny this was a great attempt and i hope you make this video because you WILL be the speedrun king

As someone bad at Minecraft, I've had this idea forever but don't make content so I'm glad its coming to life via Danny
I get the same thing when I'm in danger in video games. Now, I've played a metric ton of games and I'm pretty good at most of them after 20+ years of gaming every day, but it took me many years to realize that the best players are the ones who aren't afraid to die and start over a lot. Especially in these types of games with randomly generated worlds and lots of different systems, you've gotta experiement a lot to learn the rules, and that's often at the risk of losing health or dying. You could probably take that lesson and make a profound statement about the importance of taking risks, or something.
Edit: *most of the games I've played. I'm not good at most games out of all games ever made (unfortunately).
i had a random kick of watching all the minecraft streams repeatedly for the last week or so and i feel like i manifested this return
get lots of hay from the village, you will need food to survive. you can also kill the hoglins to get pork yumyum
all you have to do is make a wooden pick axe and then find stone to make other stone tools, making a wooden sword or axe wouldn’t be useful if you have stone nearby.
try to check most of the chests in the village (esp the structure made out of cobble stone that has a furnace and some lava, sometimes they will have diamonds or iron
assassinate iron daddy
sand biomes or dry biomes for lava pooools
if you find a desert temple then go and check it out, it has ores most of the time
for getting flint, you can pick up one block of gravel and if it doesn’t drop flint you can place it down again and break it until it gives you flint
make gold boots cause they use the least amount of gold (and you can look rich)
nether sucks, i think you just have to get lucky to find the fortress quickly
if you spawn in the poopy basalt biome, then immediately rage quit. i lost so many worlds to that biome.
for killing the blaze, they take some time to charge up their fire balls and in that time you can hit them without getting burnt
if you open a chest of a bastion in front of a piggy they will attack you
for ender pearls you can trade with the piglins and can go to the blue forest biome to kill ender men
there are tons of other things u can learn online, btw danny this was a great attempt and i hope you make this video because you WILL be the speedrun king
