Those falls from Glo had to be 1 the best representation of just keeping on getting back up and keeping on skating and 2 some of the funniest falls in braille history, at least the longest line of them 😂 and Gabe’s giggle at the end to top it all off just before the redemption heel flip it was all just so Braille and I love that 😂❤
In terms of attaching to the board, best thing you should use, is spray contact cement. You spray a thin layer on each surface, wait for it to dry a little, then when it contacts it won't let go.
You should have used contact cement glue, it is what is used to adhere the laminate to wood in making countertops. Also there are different grits of sandpaper, so I am sure you can find a closer grit to what matches grip tape. I have never skateboarded, but have spent a lifetime in construction.
man, you got like the gnarlyist grit sandpaper for this! I wonder what it would be like if you tried super fine sandpaper, like polishing 3000 grit? or maybe multiple grits, like 80, 180, 220, 320, etc? Also 3M spray adhesive might work great for this, and a lot faster! spray the paper then the board, let it dry, stick them together and go!
Some sandpaper does have glue on the back. It is made different for different needs. Also griptape is made for abusive use over a longer time. Where as sand paper is typically made to be abrasive, but not longevity
let's see how they remove the excess. im curious to see how thats gonna work. you can probably get a less coarse type of sandpaper and try it but yeah putting it on is a challenge. thats what i figured was going to happen.
Honestly, I think if the glue had been spread out with a paintbrush or something it might not have flaked off quite as easily. Still pretty amazing what the boys were able to do with it!
Aaron didn't spread the glue out so it's ripping off where it's not actually glued down. Also medium grain sandpaper would be more similar. I think if someone can buy grip tape that's the obvious way to go, but lots of people are trying to skate with little to no money and sandpaper is a real way to cut cost.
Sandpaper falls about when you sand with it. It doesn't last very long, which is why you buy it in rolls or many sheets. So I wouldn't expect it to last long on a skateboard. The more it gets used, the less grippy it will become because the little rocks/sand will fall off. It appears, that's exactly what happened.
I didn't feel like scrolling through all the comments to see if anyone said why don't you just use some double-sided tape on it because that would have worked great
Ok someone with actual engineering experience needs to make a micarta or g10 skateboard and send it to Braille and tell them it grips better when it’s wet.
I double layer my socks, my grip tape is worn, my shoes are thick af, and yet the side of my foot is obliterated from my grip tape and I ripped two holes through my socks. I've got no idea what to do lol.
Aaron's return fixed my Braille algorithm. 😂😅Finally getting recommended Braille videos as soon as it's up again. ❤
Good to hear!
there is more coarse sand paper 20 grit@@brailleskateboarding
Same. I love seeing this dudes face pop up in the preview of the video haha
“Fried” 😊 my new favorite word, thanks Glo! 👍
i'm glad i was able to come back to this channel years after trying to learn how to ollie, and feel the same way ❤❤
Welcome back!
i remamber lance, great guy
You should try different grits of sandpaper to see which is best
400 grit 😊
And use a spray adhesive instead of regular glue
they also sell self adhesive backed sandpaper.
Those falls from Glo had to be 1 the best representation of just keeping on getting back up and keeping on skating and 2 some of the funniest falls in braille history, at least the longest line of them 😂 and Gabe’s giggle at the end to top it all off just before the redemption heel flip it was all just so Braille and I love that 😂❤
Buy smaller grit sand paper and use a strong spray tack adhesive, would love to see this again
higher and higher grits and find out what smoothness works best for skating
In terms of attaching to the board, best thing you should use, is spray contact cement. You spray a thin layer on each surface, wait for it to dry a little, then when it contacts it won't let go.
I agree. I was thinking of a spray adhesive
man I love aaron I havent even skated in years but he always makes me laugh and would always watch him
Time to start skating again. Its a sign
Need higher grit and spray adhesive
I need more Aaron. He’s the goat
Much love
Gabe, you need to try making a double decker board with riser pads between the decks
Bru, I'm just imagining the pop you could possibly get from that. That's a sick idea!
Braille carry’s the weekends
Daily as usual. Love this channel
Gabe - it's called grip TAPE and sand PAPER. Speaks for itself my man 😃
You should have used contact cement glue, it is what is used to adhere the laminate to wood in making countertops. Also there are different grits of sandpaper, so I am sure you can find a closer grit to what matches grip tape. I have never skateboarded, but have spent a lifetime in construction.
Lance was one of the main reasons I started watching you guys I miss him
I've had to use sand paper for Griptape before 👀 It works 👍🏼
10:42 Glo almost takes one where the sun is NOT shining today brother 😆

You can buy spray adhesive.
Yeah that would be my go-to for this.
Even if it didn't work out as well as regular griptape, I still enjoyed seeing a new idea and would love to see more experiments in the future.
Let us know what to experiment with
@@brailleskateboarding I can't think of anything at the moment, but I can let you know in the future if I think of something.
Glo goes hard in the tricks and harder on the falls! He's too sick!
Gabe is spot on. You wouldnt get me to click a video with just grippiest griptape. But ive always wondered what sand paper would do as griptape.
Should have glued it with spray contact cement (3M Super 77 or similar) for near instant gluing!
I LOVE YOU BRAILLE!
You can really see Glo's skating getting better in the last few months of videos
Yes!
You could get many different grips of sandpaper and use a spray adhesive. It wouldn’t take as long to put onto the skateboards.
Ok
"Whats up Jady? Whats up☺️" got me 💀
Back in my days of skating we had clear griptape and it only came this course but then again this was like 30 years ago
Loved this stuff.
It still is coarser.
This was the crazy idea Braille
Reminds me of K-Mart Nash brand skateboards with their painted on grip tape. It was basically road tar, and rocks.
The painted on grip tape! I remember that horrific ness
@@brailleskateboarding with ZERO concave.
They have pill and stick sandpaper too if I'm not mistaken it's for a sander if I'm not mistaken tho. I'm not sure.
You should try again with a bigger grit like 60 or 80 to 100! Keep it up!
Bru! Did that back in the 90s🔥🔥🔥🔥
Try finer grain sandpaper, do like 40 grit to 1000 grit
i think around 400 will be the sweetspot
I think 180, 400 is pretty fine. 1000 you cant even feel the grit.
@@LeSkateWA they're all goofs, try them all and let Aaron wreck himself trying them all out
@@mikeythezero lol true more videos for them.. you'd think they would know more about sandpaper. Trying to peel it lol come on
How about Stick On surfboard foam grip? That was some Pro glue application. No air pockets. 👍
ooooh we should try that
There is sticky back sandpaper. Round for da and strips for sanding blocks. 😉
How many layers of bubble wrap is needed before a board will break or chip? Lets find out.
the exit of the braile house is legit the entrance to heaven
Truth
Try the grip tape they use for stairs it has an adhesive backing to it.
That actually is, grip tape.
Some sandpaper does have glue on the back. It is made different for different needs. Also griptape is made for abusive use over a longer time. Where as sand paper is typically made to be abrasive, but not longevity
Glo is sooo steezy in this vid 🤙🏼
You guys need to get industrial doublesided tape...
cant wait for you to find out that there are different stregths of sandpaper
Grit, not strength lol.
@@vLowset english isnt my first language my bad
What was that trick glo kept trying?
So what do you think they used before griptape?
good point
I DID MY FIRST OLLIE TODAY I THINK IDK IF IT COUNTS THOUGH CAUSE I DIDN'T GET FAR OFF THE GROUND
It counts
Send me the video
Try a slightly finer grit and use a cheap brush to apply the glue so the glue is covering the whole deck evenly it might not peel as easily 🤔
ITS SIMPLE, YOU SEE BRAILLE UPLOAD AND YOU HIT LIKE
let's see how they remove the excess. im curious to see how thats gonna work. you can probably get a less coarse type of sandpaper and try it but yeah putting it on is a challenge. thats what i figured was going to happen.
You could make a template for that by tracing the original Grip tapes with pencil and cutting it it with scissors
What grit of sand paper is it
Use spray on adhesive
*Braille* - ‘ALWAYS cut away from yourself when cutting grip tape guys!!’
*Also Braille* - NEVER DOESN’T CUT TOWARDS ONESELF!! Lol 😄
guy in palace shirt chill af
Honestly, I think if the glue had been spread out with a paintbrush or something it might not have flaked off quite as easily. Still pretty amazing what the boys were able to do with it!
Sand paper hurts my teeth. I don’t like eat it or anything, just the feeling of it in my hands hurts my teeth idk why 😭 This is so off topic
Same 😂
Hahahaha I feel this is very on topic
Try resin and pepper for me
I remember when I didn’t have to skip the first 7 minutes to watch you guys skate. That was over 6 years ago
You guys actually can use a double sided tape that made out of paper double tape
That's another video:
Different grades of sandpaper compared.
Also, get aerosol spray glue so it's a better coat!
yes to the glue
Really miss lance, even if he could just make a cameo it would be awesome, the og fans would be so stoked
You should try this with a less coarse sandpaper.
Lance is the OG
Haven't seen Glo slam this much since the 80's 😂
You should try this again but use a spray adhesive instead of regular gorilla glue. That way, it would be more evenly secured to the board.
Ok
when I was 13 I was living in a place with 0 skate shops. And I used sandpaper as a grip tape on a pennyboard
Of course I remember lance… hope that man is doing well!
Never will i forget lance, was sad when he moved on from braille!
Glofalls will never stop being funny
You should get some wet sandpaper it has smaller grit like you’re looking for
Ok
How to end your shoes in one day.
Yess
Day? Try after 1 hour..
Try spray glue on deck then pour sand on to dry? Skate tape idea
Mount a bunch of spikey style snowboard stomp pads on a skateboard for "griptape" maybe?
How did bro think that sandpaper peels 💀💀💀💀 (love you Arron)
17:37 IMHO, it's exactly like it. 🤣
👁️💚🛹
LoL! I put sandpaper on my first wooden 70's board my uncle gave me in the early 80's. Didn't last long at all. Definitely not waterproof either.
true
Next video title: We covered a skateboard with roofing shingles 😂
We should!
Definitely should it would be great!
That would be a really hard darkslide I would love to see it
Try it again with a spray adhesive
Glos taking a beating here lately
I was so confused I was like have I been using sand paper wrong this whole time lol
I think y'all need to try out different grits.
You guys should use the glue that’s in mouse traps as grip tape see how that work
You also might have gotten too coarse a sand paper. The more fine, the more uniform the ‘shards’ and space inbetween is
I didn't feel like scrolling through all the comments to see if anyone said why don't you just use some double-sided tape on it because that would have worked great
Ok someone with actual engineering experience needs to make a micarta or g10 skateboard and send it to Braille and tell them it grips better when it’s wet.
I second this idea
I used Aluminium Oxide paper on my board in the 70's... It dissolved when it got wet 😄
What is that?
@@brailleskateboardingIt's what you were using! Aaron actually says it in the first section round 30 seconds in 🤣
Two things. First you can get Sam's paper with a peel and stick back. Second, grip tape is about 120-320 grit. Y'all got 36 grit. 😊
Maximum abrasion doesnt mean maximum friction..
I double layer my socks, my grip tape is worn, my shoes are thick af, and yet the side of my foot is obliterated from my grip tape and I ripped two holes through my socks. I've got no idea what to do lol.
If there ARE PPL IN CHAT WHO DON’T KNOW LANCE!? Shame!!!!!! GO TO OLD BRAILLE I MISS THAT SO SO MUCH
Much love
When I realized they never built houses: When they thought sandpaper had a sticky backing.
If I was there, I would have likely asked, "what are you trying to do?" As they fingered the paper.
Hahahahahhahahaha
Glo getting bodied over and over 😂😂😂😂
Did Glo dirty with that slowmo 😂
We need, "day in life" video please
Try like 1000 or 2000 grit
Spray on carpet glue is the answer!
Shoutout to lance.
Lets go
