Although thank God I have a nursing degree and a license, I do not identify myself to work in PJ, I am more of a SF or 75th Ranger Regiment but I have to report that even the Army special forces say it all the time to be a PJ or CCT of the air force is on another level. And the Army operators always say that the Airforce ones are Badass 😃💪

Great video! I realize how much acronyms tend to get silly, but AFSC performance specifications are captured in form of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Others (KSAOs). The skill level framework is advancement performance specifications to higher and greater diversity multi-capable performance utilizations.
Element leader and team leader falls under abilities and others due to the leadership demands and the must have NCO rank requirement due to the small tactical team command authority being delegated. The existence of pararescue having such small tactical team leadership KSAOs and a lengthy core number of KSAO formally established prior to 1953 is unique within the Air Force enlisted force structure.
This contributes why element and team leader doesn’t fit in the enlisted leadership model used for promotion to NCO and upgrade to 5, 7, 9 skill level requirements. Book smart doesn’t translate well to having ability and the other character and personality traits to be an effective small tactical team leader which is why initial and reoccurring evaluation of performance is necessary and loss of element/team leader certification doesn't necessarily cause downgrade of skill level, or reduction in rank.
The purpose of PJ medical capability has always been to extend the golden hour. During the 1940s and 1950s there were hundreds of mission accomplished with PJs parachuting in and giving medical treatments, survival assistance for days until a helicopter (helicopter would be relocated by fixed wing to closest airfield) or a land team could get to the crash site. It was during this period the commander of the Air Rescue Service informed his subordinate commanders that the mission of the Air Rescue Service was to deploy and support the pararescue team.
Although not anticipated or a deliberate pursued the pararescue KSAOs documents written during the early 1950s identify decision rated officer fly aircraft and will not lead PJ teams and further identify the training and proficiency required to be a competent PJ team leader was too costly to justify non-rated officers and warrant officers to be put in such duty positions. There were other factors, but this frustrated attempts to establish an officer AFSC (Combat Rescue Officer) until ca. 2001.

If you are talking about the line items we mentioned, yes, they're listed in the career field education and training plan, or CFETP. You can find them open source, if you know what to look for, but we won't be helping with that one. - A
I hate you guys. Well actually I don’t but you guys make me wish I had gone PJ back in 93 instead of Navy Hospital Corpsman/ Field Medic. Unfortunately back then there was not this level of knowledge and “job advertising”. My job was nowhere near as challenging and cool with as many facets and skills as being a PJ.
Me too. The SARC pipeline didn’t exist in my HM days. Still not PJ level, but better.
