- CMSgt.(Ret.) Dave Milsten served with William H. Pitsenbarger's during many of the rescue missions in Vietnam to include Pitsenbarger's final mission on April 11, 1966. "Back then, I was a staff sergeant and his noncommissioned officer in charge," said Chief Milsten. "Pits was 'gung-ho' and always ready for action."
Interview recorded at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in 2019.
Telling the story of how the legacy of CSAR began. What a joy to listen to a CMSgt with his experience as he passes on some wisdom. Thank you Chief for taking the time.

The PJ legends speaks more like reminiscing and informing in their own words for those of us who never knew about PJs. I've met Chief Milsten briefly in passing. I knew of your artwork about what a PJ looks like plus the Cheshire cat... Chiefs Vargas, Madamba and Holler I knew..
I am happy that Pits finally received his well deserved MOH; HA [HOOYAAH and ALOHA]
Awesome! Good job!
