My DIY Roof rack for less than $50

So I had this idea of adding some pool noodles on the top of my vehicle to make a roof rack. Now I'm not sure if it would work but the concepts seem like it would. Using ratchet straps to hold the pool noodles down to the roof then another to hold whatever you're transporting on the top of your roof. The idea came because I don't have a truck and I wanted to buy a 75-inch TV and I know it wouldn't fit in the car. After speaking with friends and my father they all thought the concept would work as well, so today I found out.
My vehicle suffered hail damage years ago so that was another reason I thought I can try it because it couldn't really damage the roof anymore than what it is now. You might see it in the video.
