Awesome, I just picked up a 92 Z34 with a 5 speed. It sat for a number of years, but i drove it home which was 2.5 hours away. It needs a bunch of rear suspension work and some brakes, but hopefully will be good to go after.
I had a Lumina and it was super fast. I drove 3 hours straight on cruze control governed out at 125. Absolutely fantastic car, just hugged the road at high speeds, And it was Red like that one.
High idle check the intake gasket for leaks, had a Z-34 and that turned out to be the issue. Gave it to my son who abruptly sold it after I went thru the entire thing. Wish I still had it, the engine was not the easiest to work on, but it was in a class by itself. Also check the resistance of the injectors, they were know to short intermittently when hot. Mine wouldn't start after you took it for a drive, let it cool for half and hour it was fine. One injector developed a short which pulls down the whole bank, batch fire system.
Great looking car. We had one of these with the 3.4 back in the early 2000s. It developed a leak on the intake gasket, I think, and it never really ran right after the repairs. In and out of the shop for valve and timing issues. It think it had 90k miles on it when the issues started? At any rate, you got a really nice one there. Great find!
Awesome. My first car in high school was a Black 91 Z34. Red interior. If you keep it, be sure to change the timing belt. Mine went and bent all the valves. Sure was a fun car though!!
Nice low mileage car. Sounds like Throttle position sensor might be bad or maybe the MAP sensor. But yeah plugs and wires I'm sure will help. You can fix the holes in the console with SolaRez. It's a quick fiberglass repair cream that's UV activated. Just rough it a little so it can grab.
Nice car..I have a Black '93. that I bought from the original owners in 2003. I love it, but it's been a pain in the ass..Kind of like beautiful women!..Can't live with em, can't live without 'em! Anyway, Can't help u with your current problem, but these are know for alternator failures..and they're burried. 5 hr. jobs. I'm trouble shooting my 2nd alternator failure. I've heard that bad grounds can cause this.
The 3.1 and 3.4 liter motors are notorious for blowing intake gaskets and that may be a issue but they can be checked with a can of brake clean
The heartbeat of America!
This is a major score, congratulations!
Super clean. My grandmother had a grey Lumina when I was a kid. I always loved that car

I had a 92 in the same spec/color. Miss that car, definitely a head turner
I want one sooo bad these cars are the personification of my taste in cars

Nice! Looking forward to seeing it freshened up. That would look great displayed with a Cup Lumina alongside.
I hear you Scott. I wouldn't have passed that up either. Hope you get all the issues worked out.
Good looking car!! 👍🏻

Nice find. I have a 92 with 17,000 original miles on it.
Very nice car. Scott, I'm jiggity76.

Yeah, the timing belts should have been inspected every 30,000 miles and absolutely changed out no later than 60,000.
Nice nice car, I have always liked them, I'd prefer black, cuz they looked more like Dale Earnhardt Sr car

Hmm, these are non interference motors from 91-95. Were you giving it the beans when it let go?
Could be intake gaskets. Really nice car thoe 🍻

3:52 cigarette burns. 4:18 the same.
Still very very nice!
Looked smaller more like a pot seed burn. In that era it was pretty dirty seedy stuff. A seed or two was often missed and popped out.

It's cool 😎
Needs some paint correction and it’ll be good. Maybe a one step cut and polish.
Check transmission filter. That might be the cause of the "no balls" problem.
4:44 lol yeah thats awful.
