Finally, was waiting for this built, learnt alot from your vids. There are all kinds of people with different mindsets. Its boring for people who know it all, spectators, talkers, they are born for that. But there are people who are learners and your channel has done a great difference to the unreached, DIYers, communities in the globe especially third world nations...thanks Sam continue your built!.
I bet the 80 series is it gonna be one of the best on the Internet it’s already a beast and it’s not even finished if it’s anything like the bnb truck it’s gonna be an animal
Here I am trying to get my rd28 patrol rebuilt and you're using parts on a 4wd that I'd put in my race car. Awesome work man keep it up eps like this are good to watch because otherwise they go stale when talking about wires for half an hour. Getting keen to see the end results
I'm keen to find out more on the airbag suspension and the 200 series steering wheel. could be just the thing to give my 80 a more modern feel. I'm digging this build mate!
MAP manifold absolute pressure 👍 with your cam and crank connectors find some pins crimp to wire and glue them in with araldite. then pin them to a common connector
Download toyodiy get the part no. For the plug you need, the log onto Amayama and order it through them. The amount of stuff I ordered for my hilux surf that way was unreal. 👍🍻
Should do a review of your flooring mate, how do you clean the dust dirt mud grinding sparks ect and I presume you can't weld over it is it flammable, doesn't look that practical for the works that you undertake in your shed would love your honest opinion? Looked great to start with. Keep up the great work mate 👍
Yo Auto Tech here, MAP sensor is Manifold absolute pressure, whereas MAF is Mass Air Flow, where it measures the Mass of the air passing the sensor. Interesting fact though, some Vw Audi group cars and Hyundai/Kia cars run the MAP sensor on the intercooler, this makes no difference as the pressure stays roughly the same post turbo and the part description of these sensors when ordered genuine still says MAP.
I think the worst part at the end of this build may be that Sam will have to use those big doofus looking wheel arch flares. I get why, but I just think the smooth factory ones are a much tidier looking finish. Good on ya though mate, I reckon it’s a pretty sweet lookin 80
I know it's royalty free music or whatever you call it. But When I heard the music start at 7:25 I thought of Shed Built. Since I recently rewatched all the videos.
You should look at using a cherry sensor top and bottom for the trigger system. You really need that controll with big power 6 bagers. Have a look at ben brays drag car on haltech 18 minutes in
Most genuine toyota plugs will have 5 numbers stamped on them. Put 90980 in front of those 5 numbers you have genuine part number for replacement plugs
Have you ever used the spray on dashboard flock it looks just like the finish you see on Rally car dashboards, it covers all sorts of evils and anti glare also.
Hey man with the sensors etc that you can't find plugs for just solder some wires to the pins. And Araldite the plug. And crimp the a Deutsch plug to the wires.
Guarantee toyota have those plugs you just need to give them the part numbers yourself. I've got a full toyota connector catalogue saved on the work pc I can send to you. Went through the same thing doing a starter on a vdj79 about a dozen connectors had gone brittle and needed replacing, toyota didn't want to know about it until I got the catalogue off a local truck dealership and gave em the straight part numbers.
Hi Sam, really enjoying the 80 build. I was just wondering if you may be able to post a link to where you got the 200 steering wheel with the bluetooth control please?
so the big question....how are you going to stop the front diff from exploding?? they are a weak front diff? I think some have placed a Patrol front disk to disk conversion.
Mate, awsome ep....n what a tuff 80 it's gunna be!!! I'm sure you have mentioned it before but what is your work background as in mechanical fitter or mechanic or....
She’s coming along gonna be sick, instead of suede or recovering the dash, why not “flock it” that’d. be sick and I doubt anyone’s done that ( and won’t be upset ya use my idea 😜🤣) on an 80dash, gonna do mine, reckon she’s the go in those low sun bright high glare days, rally approved 🤙
You have probably already sorted the issue, but for the plugs you can’t get; why not pot some wires onto them and run a Deutsch off that? Makes it a pain when you need to replace them, but🤷🏼♂️
I’m pretty sure you can buy plugs separately from Toyota, you need to look up on saris the ewd and the get the part number from it to order one it’s just parts department are lazy and those resources are Toyota dealership only
Your videos always make me want to do more work to my car! Stop encouraging me to spend! 😂❤️ Great video mate!
Agreed, everything Sam does to this 80 I am thinking I need to do this to mine...lol
MAP sensor - Manifold Absolute Pressure :)
FINALLY THE 80 :D

Awesome work and moustache mate.
Great vid. Love the build. Nice haircut!
Awesome choice of engine mounts. I know Jason waye the owner of tuff mounts. Top bloke
Download toyodiy get the part no. For the plug you need, the log onto Amayama and order it through them. The amount of stuff I ordered for my hilux surf that way was unreal. 👍🍻
that tailgate storage is mint

Awesome content man, really enjoying this build.
Got my seats done by incharge automotive they are unreal 👍👍
All over the place? Yes. Do I like that? Hell yea.
Definitely should’ve used Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter prior to vinyl dye. Helps it stick more
Awesome wheels and tyres....
Great piece! Thanks.
Your 80 vids are the best
Can’t wait to see the 80 done please do more on the 80
I think the worst part at the end of this build may be that Sam will have to use those big doofus looking wheel arch flares. I get why, but I just think the smooth factory ones are a much tidier looking finish. Good on ya though mate, I reckon it’s a pretty sweet lookin 80
I reckon he could build some for it. Be like the A team van!
Good to see another episode fo the 80
I know it's royalty free music or whatever you call it.
But
When I heard the music start at 7:25 I thought of Shed Built. Since I recently rewatched all the videos.
when it's time surely check out JTX Lighting headlights for the 80
Loving it sSam , massive thumbs up 👍
Love the build mate keep it going
THIS WAS GREAT .. Plenty of everything all roll into one.. im a bitc...
mate . AUXBEAM. 6 or 8 gang swich pannel. game changer. great price. luv it . no more relay shit everywhere .
Yes! Yess! Yeeeessssss! Finally the 80!!!
You should look at using a cherry sensor top and bottom for the trigger system. You really need that controll with big power 6 bagers. Have a look at ben brays drag car on haltech 18 minutes in
Put a huge panoramic roof in.
You'll need some light in the back with no windows.
Starting to come along well
Finally no more boring videos
Bout time!!
Sam be honest have you been watching the skid factory, those boys love the haltech gear. A collaboration with those boys would be sick
I personally think this is a great build 🍻
about bloody time
Love the 80 videos
Most genuine toyota plugs will have 5 numbers stamped on them.
Put 90980 in front of those 5 numbers you have genuine part number for replacement plugs
LOVE THE VIDS MATE HERE IN PERTH
I feel like this is the fast and furious 4wd no drift.
I've been waiting soo long for this episode ahaha also early
Have you ever used the spray on dashboard flock it looks just like the finish you see on Rally car dashboards, it covers all sorts of evils and anti glare also.
Yeh buddy she’s coming along now!
This is gonna be an absolute weapon 🤙
It's got a Carolina Squat! You Aussies might have to Google that...
Going to be so wicked
Mad content 👌 keep it comeing
Good on you Bloke. 👍 Can you post a parts list?
Hey Sam, did you suss out EFI Hardware in Melbourne for the plugs?
They do a lot of OEM plugs.
MVP - didn't know they existed chasing some OEM plugs myself as some have become brittle.. 8 bux for a whole connector + water seal absolute ledg.
My brother has one of the last 1999 75 series land cruiser
You should 3d print your cluster to fit the dash
Finally! 🥰🥰🥰
F***ING mint!👌🏼
Hey man with the sensors etc that you can't find plugs for just solder some wires to the pins. And Araldite the plug. And crimp the a Deutsch plug to the wires.

Would be good to see this along side the hoontv 80 panel van.
Finally yes !
More 80s!
Sam, Go to EFI hardware for factory style loom plugs. 🤙
Have fun a Morton ya legend!!
Hi Sam, really enjoying the 80 build. I was just wondering if you may be able to post a link to where you got the 200 steering wheel with the bluetooth control please?
All over the place maybe, but wicked episode mate.
You should try and run a safari armax snorkel instead of a stainless
Looks like a 4 Runner
Looks like a Holden steering wheel, wow they look alike..
Good to see the 80 again, looking mint. Also isn't that the same music that grindhardplumbingco uses?
so the big question....how are you going to stop the front diff from exploding?? they are a weak front diff? I think some have placed a Patrol front disk to disk conversion.
Try Vpw in Victoria for Toyota plugs
Mate, awsome ep....n what a tuff 80 it's gunna be!!! I'm sure you have mentioned it before but what is your work background as in mechanical fitter or mechanic or....

Seems people prefer the 80 than the patrols 😝
Let’s gooo
have a look at EFI Hardware or EFI Solutions online for the crank and cam sensor plugs. If you cant find them there you probably never will lol
Good content 👌
Try efi hardware for the plugs
Wish I went the elite 2500 instead of the 750 . Where did u get the steering wheel from ????
just use the map port on the ecu as it will save the inputs for other sensers later on
@Built Not Bought
You have probably already sorted the issue, but for the plugs you can’t get; why not pot some wires onto them and run a Deutsch off that?
Makes it a pain when you need to replace them, but🤷🏼♂️
I wonder if the haltec can put out a trigger at certain speeds to raise or lower the bags...
I might have them plugs
I’m pretty sure you can buy plugs separately from Toyota, you need to look up on saris the ewd and the get the part number from it to order one it’s just parts department are lazy and those resources are Toyota dealership only
sheeesh!
Contact CarTune NZ does a lot with UZ engine swaps and has Toyota plugs.
