MJ's defense wasn't underrated at the time though. He won Defensive Player of the Year and he's tied for the record with 9 first-team All-Defense selections. He led the league in steals 3 times, has the most 200+ steals seasons with 6, and is the only player with multiple seasons of 200 steals and 100 blocks. That's on top of 10 scoring titles in 11 full seasons with the Bulls, another record. Only 5 players won a scoring title and finals MVP the same year, MJ did it 6 times and his 6 finals MVPs are another record. MJ is the greatest player ever, without a doubt. 😅

Lebron plays in n era where defense has been essentially removed from the game. Think about it, today there is defensive 3 seconds (so no big bodies taking up space in the lane), no hand checking and a game that is essentially a 48 minute three point shooting contest. The lane is now no-man's land.

On your comment about Jordan getting through the lane just as easy as Lebron, keep in mind it was more congested in the lane back in he 80s-90s with less spacing and more dominant big men. Young Jordan was quick AF and could penetrate before dudes could react. Just see how many players are around him inside the key. Another reason you see some of these defenders not jumping - Jordan was at the rim too quick.

At 2:20, RIP to NBA’s greatest winner with 11 rings which can never be taken away. CONTEXT really does matter though. Bill Russell joining the Celtics in 1956 (the previous year’s 2nd seed) in an uncapped league of 8 teams and being fortunate enough to play with 12 Hall Of Famers just weighs differently compared to a merged NBA-ABA league with around 30 teams and a salary cap (which was reinstated back in 1984). I wouldn’t say Bill wasn’t exactly elite on offence either, but he was surely great.
Robert Horry being brought up in GOAT debates because of his tally of 7 rings is just plain silly in my humble opinion… I loved Big Shot Bob who was surely clutch and a valuable piece on those championship teams, but he was never an All Star, let alone an MVP.
The GOAT is a great topic if people can keep it sensible. Boils down to an individual’s preference though. To each their own.
Stay safe and God bless, all!

Every player after Michael Jordan got their game from studying Mike. At some point they each realized they would never be as complete of a package so they isolated one aspect of his game and mastered that. Kobe, Kyrie, Steph, Lebron, Kahwi, the list goes on and on. Those players are so dominant in their respective skill sets because Michael was dominant in all those skill sets. And without a doubt, if you had actively watched Michael Jordan's career, he would without a doubt been your favorite player. There were so many amazing players in that era but Mike is and always will be, that dude. In today's league he'd drop 40 to 60 every single game, I firmly believe that. Defense was allowed far more touching and pushing in Jordan's era. No one challenging him?? He's disrespecting every player, every team, every single game. Night in, night out.

i just want to say my opinion if kobe bryant was playing in the era of m.j. he wouldn't have succeeded even half because in Jordan's time, basketball was much more difficult, they didn't whistle for the slightest foul in the NBA. In general, it was more difficult, there were tougher players and with much more talent and not Plaka's Center and they played much better defense. Kobe Bryant had the privilege of being on the best team with the best players and the best coach from almost the beginning of his career while Jordan worked alone and won his first championship at the age of almost 30. I don't agree that kobe was the closest thing to m.j. because simply, as Phil Jackson stated, he taught him the movements of m.j. he was not as good a defender as m.j. let's not forget that if they played together in the same era there would be no kobe because he wouldn't be able to copy him. and of course it is no coincidence that m.j. that i wish i played in kobe's era. imagine m.j. with Kobe's team, the roster, I mean with Sakil and the players of the series, what things would he do!!! and of course he admitted it after both Jackson and Kobe retired that Jordan was much better because beyond the numbers he was a leader!!!

He never stopped coming at you. Mark Price was on Clevland... Jordan was playing 1 hank kerp away with him. He was the Damian Lillard of 1990. These aint scrubs. And you have to react to every fake becsusr he proven to be able to make the shot from there at several angles. Plus he got take off speed in his first step.
If you go back to the Paxton freethrow in the championship.... he kicked Stockton when he threw the ball and Stockton fell before he got to Paxton.

Love your reaction... Love how you noticed things and examined plays that were extra special. It's funny, I've always said, despite other people having big hands, nobody looks like MJ with tge one-handed play. It DID look like the ball was glued to his hand. His hands must have been really strong (not just big) to do what he did with one hand. The way he shoots with one hand sometimes looks so strange...the ball comes out of his hand with too much velocity for a one handed move when he didn't move his arm very much. I'm probably not explaining this very well... But there's a lot more examples of his one-handed inhuman looking moves in the Voyager video (part 1). It would be great to see your reaction to that video... personally I think its the best Jordan compilation. There's even a segment showing the hard fouls on Mike (go slow through that part ...there's a moment where Isaiah Thomas tackles mikes head and shoulders and Dennis Rodman punches mike in the upper chest...most reactors miss the punch because the head tackle is so distracting).
Thank you so much for a wonderful reaction... Best of luck to you in your pursuits! All the best wishes to you in achieving all your best goals and dreams. 😇
Oh...and here's a few other really fun videos...
    Michael Jordan passing highlights
Michael Jordan breaking backboard (this is a very short video, but arguably the most dramatic backboard obliteration ever...but since its short its great to pair with another short video like part 2 of the Voyager video).
    Thx again!

The very thinking of how the metrics are counted the points are not as important. Hondo is a legend for 8 rings with Russell on that Celtics team. He was a setious threat with great numbers ... but MJ did more faster than anyone. Ever.
Horry was a ring chaser Like Lebron... great move. Gotta follow the best path for your career. I woukd love to see you look into Mike in his entirety. I was in chicago watching him since his rookie year. It does not take long to pass the eye test when he hits the court. I'm gonna keep it a thousand! Not everyone needs to be as loyal as Jordan. Lebron should have left Cleveland sooner.
One of the problems with Lebron is that he is stigmatized for looking out for his best interest. I saw Jordan in his rookie year when he came to Chicago. TheY Built a team around him in Chicago.
They had no intention of building a championship contender in Cleveland until Lebron came back.
They were happy selling out seats.
The idea of taking the money 🤑 after buying a team 💰 then investing more on free agents was out of the question. So he had to go to Miami to experience winning culture, to become a leader. Hate on him being a student of the game but everyone can not be Jordan. Big shot Bob was traded from 1 great team to another... That shit was crazy. I'm not giving weapons to my enemies 😔.
