    The more I watch Winners at war, the more I am impressed by Tony. Like holy fuck he might put on a facade of being kinda happy-go-lucky, but he may have worked harder than any castaway ever. Busting his ass to be a good provider, being a legit challenge beast, and being a terrific strategist while searching for the idol at night. My biggest complaint about Chris Underwood is something not shown in the final edit. I actually respected his game somewhat for a while! Sure, he wasn't actually there for a significant amount of the show, but he still did the best he could with the resources at his disposal. He made every endgame play right, and was therefore not a bad candidate to win out of the final 3. Hooooooooowever...what made me kinda hate his game, was learning that his entire strategy was handed to him by other edgemates! The only reason he even knew his win condition was to get immunity, then volunteer for fire against Rick Devens and win was because others on the edge overtly told him that would be his win condition. He may have succeeded in play, but the strategy wasn't even his own. Very frustrating lol

    I'm not sure how much of it is an intentional tactic but Adam's manages his mom story expertly. He doesnt reveal it to the whole cast initially which prevents him having a big target, reveals it to Jay which if he stays makes him an ally and if he goes a jury asset that will influence other people on pondarosa. Then come final tribal he lets the cat out of the bag solidifying his position as the favorite to win.
    Of course there are other assets to his game such as allying with and managing two goats Hannah and Ken, making sure target is always on someone else and general social gaming but I think its really impressive how he manages the backstory aspect of his game

So when she does it, she’s amazing and she’s the best and she’s a queen, but when Tom does it, and in a much less intense way mind you, he’s too manipulative. Explain that to me because that’s garbage.

    I can never understand how Sandra's PI win always gets ranked higher than her HvV win. While both seasons are obviously top tier and she's very likable and a satisfying winner in both of them, she kind of wins in PI by default when all the big threats take each others out and she's left with an outcast in the final two. In HvV, at least in my opinion, she plays a much better and more active game and also has to beat what was considered at the time the strongest cast ever.

    • @OnceUponAnIsland
      @OnceUponAnIsland  Год назад +1

      I think it's because in PI everyone was on an even playing field and she came 1 vote shy of a perfect game.

      Because most of her strategy in HvV failed upward to where it was attempting to overthrow Russell which wouldn’t have been in her best interest. In PI, she actually succeeded in overthrowing her arch enemy in Fairplay, had a bigger hand in whom went home & was a much clear author of her own path.
      It depends on what you value. In HvV, she played a better threat management game and had tougher competition but I think her strategic & social game was better in PI.

He was so socially impressive that Sugar handed him the win, it doesn’t matter how dominant you are unless you can get the votes.
      >and horrific FTC
      what was so horrific about it? He literally told the people who voted for him what they wanted to hear and got their votes. The only votes he lost was from Kenny, because he was bitter, Crystal, because she was voting with Kenny, and Matty, who just liked Susie more, he didn’t do anything horrible! Even if you think it was bad tho, he was never losing to anyone at the F6.
      >burns Randy’s vote
      Bob told Randy in private that the idol was fake, those reactions from Randy were just cobbled up by the edit to make the moment spectacular, and his FTC was again editing and Randy hamming it up to add suspense. Also now it feels like you are saying he had a bad social game for burning his votes and that’s why he didn’t deserve the win when you said earlier that the fact that he wasn’t a strategic and dominant winner is why he didn’t deserve the votes. The Gabon cast was never gonna vote for a player with agency they all believed they were the toughest on the block.

    I'm going to get hate for saying Parvati is probably the most overrated winner, and her being so high is mostly due to her separate HvV playthrough. Even when I think she still played one of the best games, she would have lost Micronesia if either Cirie was at the original final 3 finale with her or Amanda answered her jury questions better and more honestly. Erik even said he was trying to force a tie, so if he knew Parvati would have had the majority votes, he would have switched his over to Amanda, and at that point who knows who would have been the winner.

      @kharihammon9784 Год назад +4

      You shouldn’t get hate at all for this.
      She came into a FvF season as a relative nobody which is already a huge advantage in itself.
      Every quit & medevac aided her throughout the entire game (Fairplay’s quit gave leverage for Cirie to swing to the couples, Chet & Kathy quitting also helped her alliance & Penner/James leaving saved her game losing trajectory with the F2 twist)
      While she does do good work in pulling over Natalie/Alexis duo to pull off the Ozzy blindside, once the Parvmanda duo get targeted with the odds against them due to the favorites banding together to take out Amanda, it’s ultimately Amanda that does the work to give the favorites the majority & Cirie convincing Erik to give up immunity. Two of the biggest hurdles that would’ve potentially put a dent into Parvati’s chances at reaching FTC.
      Based on how Eliza has said post-game about how atrociously they handled her questions, i’m willing to believe she won at FTC.

    • @rogerdodger1984
      @rogerdodger1984 Год назад +1

      I 100% agree here, but I also kind of think Amanda did fine at FTC too. Shes not an explosive personality but I felt she was being herself and answering the best she could. Parvati is just such an enchanting personality that she can pull people in. Cirie is also the culprit here because of her sour grapes that there was no final 3, and Amanda eliminated her.

    Interesting list……
    I hate Brian but he played an almost top tier winning game, he called the shots from beginning to end, won 3 individual immunities & had multiple F2 routes to get there.
    Chris U should be at the bottom no matter what. He missed out on 2/3’s of the game & benefited from a profound momentum killing twist.
    Jenna is underrated. Her & Michele practically played similar games with her playing arguably better than Michele. Being the author of her own faith while Michele bailed out by Joe’s med evac & she literally won 4 individual immunities.
    Erika is way, way too low. She had a hand in the Naseer vote out through her connections with Ricard, safe guarded herself with the contingency plan to blindside Shan at the F8 & was frequently in a power position by playing the swing vote from that point onward.
    Tommy is extremely too low! He & Lauren ran the merge while working his way out of situations that could’ve screwed him through no fault of his own (Elaine’s block vote, double tribal & Dan’s ejection) & had a fantastic social game.
    Danni & Chris D have similar game trajectories, going down in numbers at the merge before working their way into a F3 route & winning final immunity (Chris D was at more fault for voting out John K & putting himself into that position) & i’m honestly more impressed that Danni was able to break an alliance than Chris D taking advantage of an already broken one. I don’t know, I just don’t understand why she’s so low at 32 while he’s at 19.
    Nick should be higher. He ran a great chunk of DvG (Jessica, Natalie, John, Dan, Gabby & Kara boots) & won 3 individual immunities.
    Sarah’s GC is one of the best post-merge performances of all time! Flipping between alliances 8 different times on such a stacked cast. I don’t understand why she’s not at least in the top 15.
    Tom has the GREATEST individual challenge performance out of any winner, great social game & he ran majority of the game. Top 5 performance.
    Kim completely controlled every single decision that was ever made in OW, won 4 individual immunity challenges, had a great social game all while having great jury management. This is basically Boston Rob’s RI game on first go, she should be in the top 5.
    JT has the best social game of all time, ran the game with one of the most dominant duos, won in a 7-0 sweep with a fantastic jury speech, never received a vote casted against him throughout the entire game & won 3 individual immunities. In my opinion, this winning game is borderline top 3.
    Earl ran every vote he partook in, was a throwaway vote from a perfect win & had a great social game. I’d also say he played a top 3 winning game.
    Yam-Yam being that high is a recency bias and everyone knows it.
    Lastly, Yul shouldn’t be that high & especially Parvati considering they were heavily advantaged winners.
