Gotta engage with all your videos. You helped me get my 1st kc months ago without even knowing team raids at all. Got perfect olm ~15kc in. Now at 145kc. I recommend you to anyone who wants to learn olm. We all appreciate your teaching. Thank you.
For anyone not in the discord, this got requested yesterday. Discussions were popping up about how to fix cycle in 4:1, and VGB decided to just make, edit, and release a full video on it less than 24 hours later. Disc has been incredibly helpful for people, and would highly recommend joining if you are a viewer. Great vibes, great help all around.
Using your guides I finally learnt how to solo cox on the iron, eventually deathless with no prep. Got rewards with a dex today. Really helpful the way you commentate it all
As always fantastic and informative. Best Chambers of Xeric/COX Guides out there. All the others are filled with fluff that doesn’t matter or rest of the owl meme.
If you need to 3-1 to get into cycle on flame/final phase you can do hit the first two hits like normal (thumb hit, run to tile below ring finger hit when you get there) THEEEN you hold control and click back to thumb to do your final 3-1 hit. That control will walk you to the thumb and dodge flame walls.
I learned all of cox from your guides, now I’ve done 100s of KC including lots of CM. My biggest issue is now I am completely reliant on the overhead tick counting to 4, if that’s turned off I’m useless haha
GZ! Thats awesome to hear im proud to hear of your success :)! Lol that visual metronome is so nice! I recommend it to everyone. Sadly, when I learned solo olm I didn't know it existed, so I had to learn without it lol... But I try to remember to always turn it back on for the guides, I know its super helpful
Visual metronome was definitely a game changer when I first learned. I recommend for anyone where it isn't working to maybe record yourself like with OBS and watch the ticks + true tile, that is what helped me solve my issues. That said, I had to turn it off ultimately. I'm not sure why, but the ticks get out of sync for me occasionally and olm moves on different ticks. I'm guessing it's lag? Also during different transitions I think he changes the tick too right?
wooo. always look forward to your uploads! when do you think the rdps vid for TOB will come out? been getting into TOB lately and you're the only one whose guides I look forward to. Also a guide on how to melee xarpus would be sweet. I can never figure out the timing or just get too flustered at the start and cant figure out what tick to step back on. thanks for all you do!
I have a melee xarpus guide!! Check it out :3 As for RDPS guide I ruined my RDPS footage, which is why its taking longer than the other ones to release. I need a chance to get my team together again to collect new footage lol. Sorry, mistakes were made :(
@GamaLimits it's coming! I've already been in communication with my team about recaptureing the rdps footage. I just need schedules to sync up lol. It's a unique boss of It's own
This is such good timing. I've been following your guides and I'm at about 20ish deathless solos now. I even got perfect solo :) Really appreciate these videos! Question about 4:1: getting hit by flame wall. I can do the footwork on the first hit, but what if I end up getting a 4:2, and the second attack is the flame wall? That's where I seem to get hit by it the most.
You want to move 2 tiles at the same tick that olm is attacking you in order to avoid being trapped in the flame wall. If olm is attacking on tick 3 like in this video, you’d want your character to be positioned on the tile immediately ”left” of pinky tile, click on thumb tile on tick 2 (so you are moving during tick 3 when he could throw a flamewall), click to attack the hand (your attack happens on tick 4) then go back to starting tile. Essentially you’ll do what you already do for the first olm attack of the cycle which is to move 2 tiles left, just making sure you end up on thumb tile after moving so you can get back to starting tile in time. I hope this helps!
You can find an example of this in this video at the 40:00 minute mark ruclips.net/video/q6InmQIIq7Y/видео.htmlsi=ipWpEps7Ss6TbW4Y. Obviously you’d only want to do this if you’re not already in the 4:1 cycle, because he won’t do the second attack if you’re in cycle.
Great vid! quick question: in 3:1 if we identify what tick olm is turning his head on do we want to click the hand from the middle engage tile a tick before or on the same tick to get into cycle?
You can do this exact same footwork that I show in this vid on either side! No need to change strategy depending on what side you are on. The 2-tick pinky lag will work on both sides.
So i know the number of tiles to the right of the melee pinkie differ depending on what side of the room olm is on. Does that change the flame dodging footwork?
Great video but I would love to see an acid walk and how to avoid flame wall when he does double auto during your first 4:1 to set him. Quite often I’ll cancel first flame wall and then the auto right after when I hit thumb he will trap me in there
The fancy footwork you see in this guide between hits 2 and 3 will automatically avoid flame wall 100% of the time! There are a few additional movement patters that we do at olms pinky that will guarantee 100% dodge rate
@@VideoGameBot I think he means how to avoid flame when you go to set up 4:1 and find that olm is in 4:2. How to avoid the flame wall on Olm's second attack
Hey man, with one of the CoX plugins there's an overhead tick counter with red 3, 2, 1 and then a green 0. It seems to go away as soon as I start the raid. Do you happen to know how to keep that on during the raid? I couldn't find much info about it but I was curious if maybe you knew what I'm talking about.
If you are running to the far left side of the arena (his left hand) you are most likely a tick behind. The reason to use the left side of the arena when you are doing 4:1 is to reset his cycle. By running left, then right again, you can create a window of opportunity to reset everything and get back in sync with your metronome, and get back into the 4:1 cycle.
Premo guide. I was basically the target demo for your first guide as i was in the process of learning solos. However ive still been lazy and haven't learned flamewall skipping yet so im still running watering can after 220kc. But 1 question, what I do when I see a special is that I do 1 extra hit at the end of my 4:1. Not sure where I learned it (might've been mudkip) but it tends to do the trick of forcing olm to stop using specials. Or is doing a 1:0 a more efficent way of forcing him back into cycle?
For me it was alot easier and more consistent to do 3 autos after the special than to do a 1:0. It’s not more efficient to do 1:0 because it’s 3 less hits and you lose dps, but I suppose it’s easier for some people to just do a 1:0 instead.
I'm a little bit confused why the flame skip walk works in terms of ticks, I tried both methods and they do work, but the first one has only 2 ticks of walking before the next attack on the index finger tile, whilst the flame skip walk has 3 ticks of walking before the next attack, so where is the room made for the extra tick? Also, would you be able to do a few example runs with DHL/4t weapon at some point? Like you did in that 3 runs in 60 mins guide?
Is the tick gained back on the move and hit on the index finger? Correct me if i'm wrong, but what I think is happening is that in the first vid, it walks and then attacks because the attack cycle hasn't reset, whilist with the flame skip walk it walks and attacks on the same tick (like to start 3:0 mage hand) because the extra walking tick has allowed the attack cycle to reset before getting to the index tile? Is that correct?
The goal of this guide is to show additional examples/techniques to perfect your 4:1! It assumes that you have already tried 4:1 and are running into complications. The goal here is to help clear up confusions and help you Kings cross these hurdles. If you are looking for an introduction to 4:1 guide, I have one right here: ruclips.net/video/_KruQfUdVWI/видео.html
Great cox guide just starting to learn and got to phase 3 for the first time today but unfortunately ran out of stams. Btw The discord link is invalid for me.
as a learner i understand the need to teach 1:0, however using it to set up 4:1 contradicts olm's attack cycle, and the fact that when you skip autos, nulls and specials incorrectly, an auto and a special may stack exactly like demonstrated in your video @4:15. aaty addressed this in his "4:1 but not really" guide 3 years ago. when you say "we got lucky" or "we got good rng" you're leaving it up to exactly that when you start your 4:1 cycle after a 1:0.

your first 4:0 guide was 10/10 so lets see this

What are you supposed to do to get olm in cycle if he hits you once while you are running to the left hand? Or is that just running too late?
