Duo olm is a really fun experience with you + a buddy!! I know I said its like 1/15 for a purp but its more like 1/17 or so. Still amazing money, and a great time!
I watch a lot of your guides. Always well thought out, put together and informative. The Chambers of Xeric / COX guides help to understand a lot of the mechanics in an in depth manner. You deserve way more view La for the effort. Thanks man!
Brilliant video man, me and my buddy have been looking a succinct guide for Olm guide for a while now as we both know nothing, tonight we did 4 completions 3 of which were deathless!
Hey GameBot, been getting into TOB recently and would love if you had more advanced guides like 1t off Verzik P2, or Sot's flinching, or maybe just a whole tob guide. I know you are very busy but I think it would help introduce a lot of people to the content and help improve those who are already familiar with it. I know there are other guides but I simply think yours are some of the best I come across, thanks and have a great day!
@@VideoGameBot I basically got it on the first try but took a few more to get it down and remember how to recover if either of us messed up. First raid was no deaths though so that goes to show how easy to digest this was.
If you watch Swizzy do mage while videogamebot is doing melee you may notice he lets the head set on the mage side, steps middle, attacks, then immediately goes to the melee side. He does this to avoid getting stuck in a flame wall if Olm was to cast flame wall. In case anyone wanted to know why hes doing that or wanted to do that to avoid the flame wall. You should probably just always do the flame wall skip so that you don't have to worry about doing it vs not doing it but it is only needed during phase 1 and 2 if it says olm rises with the power of the flame. It is also needed during phase 3 because he can do any of the specials available.
During head phase whoever isn’t being targeted should step over to the middle to force Olm to look middle, then step back out to the outer sides. This can help mitigate a lot of damage especially in lower tier setups.
i've found that skipping specials on the meele side is very good for duos you can get some damage on the meelehand before magehand goes down that way. The movement is the same as 4:1 solo olm
@@VideoGameBot I sure was! Going to start doing duo's with a buddy who's only recently gotten into the game to get him kickstarted so this came at a perfect time. Hoping all it going well for you man!
I mean you explained it in a way that a casual gamer will understand and can follow, in a way I couldn't. 👍 There's a lot of fine detail that's missed out but I guess this works for people with low KC. The duo head method isn't correct but again it works and it's not "wrong". If you're running duos often, it's worth bringing a BGS though. You can easily get Olm's melee hand to 0 def this way, by having the BGSer going second, in a way that you can never achieve with two hammers. The person with the elder maul can also bring a ralos, both to use on the melee hand (it's equivalent to a BGS or better in scales), and for headphase. That's the only glaring thing that looked very odd.
Thanks for pointing out how this guide can be understood by casual gamers. My vids (for the most part) are geared towards first timers who have never tried content before. From my experience one of the biggest turn-offs for first timers is the complexities of the most efficient strategies, and getting bogged down with information overload. That said, you are right and I agree with you, especially for more experienced duo teams who are looking to be more efficient. I occasionally make guides for intermediate strategies, but I think the simplest methods are often the best way to get people to get their feet wet with new content.
For range phase, the meleer should stay in the melee position and the mage skipper should start running head, This will cause the head to turn from the melee side to the middle. It ends up interacting the same as if its turning left and right during the earlier phases by going attack turn attack turn and is far more reliable than 1 person on each side.
We do that occasionally. Book it all the way left right after the teleport and get back on melee hand so it skips the heal. Usually depends on how low we get the melee hand through first cycle. Def a useful strat to know and use!
May I ask what's the cue to move and set Olm's head as the mage skipper at 7:30, after phase 3 portals? I'm trying to count the 2 attacks after a special but can't catch the momentum.
@@casserh good spot!! The head was actually not set until about 7:40 after he spawned his crystal special attack. He uses crystal special > range basic attack(1) > throws exploding bomb crystals(2) > run right to set

excellent video just a shame it came out 3 weeks after me and my buddy started duo. one thing i started doing on the final head phase is pulling the head middle as much as i can and running back to my side when he goes middle. its not much but it forces him to constantly do 2 turns to auto attack which I think is a big damage mitigation and i hate to be that guy but 50k pts is about 1 in 17. doing 2+1 makes it a 63k pt raid which is 1 in 13
does this method work for 3 man? if doing a 3 man do you recommend 2 people running in middle or one person sitting on each hand and a runner in the middle?

@barkirion oof that task is frustrating >.> my strategy was to bring significant prayer gear that allowed for 11 ticks of "mistakes". But you basically have to prayer flick nearly perfectly for like 20 mins :/ that task sucks
@@VideoGameBot what’s the tick cycle between each run? Cause if you have a 5t weapon and you wait for 2 shots before running wouldn’t you be running at different times than with a trident?
@ally4131 olm turns his head on a 4 tick cycle. Regardless of the attack speed of your weapon, the MOST IMPORTANT thing that matters is that you move correctly in accordance with his head turning. Priority 1 is always moving correctly, priority 2 is getting hits off as often as possible. As long as your head dancing is on point, the attack speed should not matter too much (other than losing a dps tick or 2 here and there, which isn't a big deal when learning)
@@VideoGameBot I see, I’ve been struggling with skipping. So the attacks are on a continuous cycle right? For example if he attacks one on melee side, then one on mage side. But in this case I don’t run to the melee side he would use that special right? It’s not necessarily two attacks on the same side to proc a special attack?
@@VideoGameBot good to know, last question what about when he’s supposed to attack but nothing comes out? Not the regular null attack that happens between hits. It’s like I run to middle waiting for an attack but nothing comes out?
