They make a special tool for pulling the valve stems through, and it's not that one. It's late ng like a pencil and threads on, the tip bends at an angle to allow better pulling angle. But hey that worked for now you also could put a metal stem in the has nuts that tighten down.

The rubber ones use a lever let you pry it on from the inside you put the valve stem in the hole from the inside and you pry it on the edge of the rim or you can buy the metal ones that use a nut
