It is so neat and I'm with Danielle I love an island. But as I have gotten older, I have noticed how uncomfortable bar stools without a back on them and a bar to rest your feet on is very bad on your back. So find some comfortable bar stools. That's if the amazing Jason don't come up with his own design lol. But I'm loving the ideas.
The large covered porch is a great idea. Bigger is better

The outside porch area extended the living space so much! Love the idea of an outside shower, would be amazing in the summer heat after being outside working or dealing with animals! Lots of great ideas in this one!
If you look close, that little shelf storage under the stairs looked like it opened to some secret storage. You could do pull out doors that have shelves at each level of the stairs. Ton of storage
Personally I would put a two piece bathroom upstairs where that chair is. Lots of room there. You may regret not having two bathrooms down the road.
I thought the same thing. Also, it's so open, you can't have stuff just sitting out or the place will be messy. Maybe make the rail upstairs solid, just a thought

A toilet upstairs ist a must have. You won‘t walk down all those stairs at night.

Personally, I would wall off that far side of the loft where the chair and dresser are and create a small two-piece bathroom and closet next to one another in that space. You might regret not having a bathroom upstairs later on down the road and having a closet to store clothes and other stuff would be nice.
You confirmed exactly what my hubs and I learned after living full-time in our camper,traveling the USA. We can thrive with much less. You rock!
It’s cute, but I would make a back door with-mud room / storage pantry/ washer dryer/ and any other thing you want back there! Extra toilet !

Only thing i would add is a closed in back porch to your place..mud room..for farm boots and jackets etc. I would definitely consider the outside shower 🚿 especially when you are done cleaning pens and working with the animals...just a thought
You should check size of loft. There is a percentage of how open it is to how much heat is in the loft. Something to consider. Also if you have a baby everything is open and you have to be quiet or you will wake the baby. You may want to close off part of the loft. One more thing a bathroom on the same floor as you sleep is really nice. It’s a pain to have to go downstairs to use the bathroom. I am excited to see what you do with your bin.

Definitely needs another toilet, maybe upstairs over the bottom one, and another exit, maybe build it out, extended from the bin, looking like an enclosed patio.

I LOVVVEEEE IT. I think my fav is the stairs,loft, the ceiling blew my mine. It looked like it would be labor intense but it was gorgeous.I also loved the outside set up which is close to y’all’s. Please do an outside shower,that would be the icing on the cake. Heck I like the whole dang thing. It’s going to be a challenge, but so is most of the things you do and you always ace it. Looking forward to seeing what you guys design will be. God Bless and Much Love.❤️❤️
Definitely have a tall faucet that pivots out of the way. If it has a retractable hose nozzle and soap dispenser, even better.
I had a stacked washer/dryer with 2 kids and found it very convenient for quick small loads that are easy to manage. More convenient than inconvenient.
The difference in the two styles really shows what materials and color can do to a space.

Underneath the stairs that shelving unit, you could actually have that on hinges and have that pop out for hidden storage underneath that’s great use of that space put your winter stuff in there boots heavy jackets and such

I agree with others that have mentioned having at least a 1/2 bath upstairs.. It will get old quick to have to go down the stairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. AND, if you are not feeling well (sick) it would be terrible to have to go down those steps.! And eventually having that porch area closed in ( or screened in) would give you more living area.

You could make that little shelf unit under the stairs come out on wheels to get to things all the way back under the stairs.
Hello Jason & Danielle, I think you both have made decisions by seeing this Silo Home! It’s beautiful and everything they did you should copy. Especially everything that they did inside and out. The outside options that they did are awesome. I love the washer & dryer option under the stairs. You probably don’t need the small table because you can sit at the center island. You might want to skip putting the chair option upstairs and make a small bathroom with a toilet and sink only. You would definitely have to make your Barndominium a little bigger with a couple of bedrooms and a bathroom for family that would visit! I guess that you don’t plan on having any kids because where would you put them with the loft option instead of 3 bedrooms? Just asking because if you plan on having a kid or two you can temporarily put them in your room for a couple of years. I think going to see this grain bin house gave you both a bunch of options that you are planning on doing. Good luck! Love you both! ❤❤

Thats great! You should make a little cutout at the bottom of the steps for a dog house/bed area. Maybe where the little book shelf was on this one.
Have you considered pouring a concrete (stained) floor into the silo over the decking... adding the additional support underneath to carry the load.. this would allow ankers through the silo base and into the floor slab. Also interior walls could then be placed anywhere for design

You could also make it bigger by just adding a little bit of extra room on the back part. Add an additional add on to put bathroom, laundry area. You will not regret it!
But look at all that extra space above the bedroom! Go higher!

Love to grain bin. Just food fof thought. Me personally I would try to figure a closet and 2pc bathroom upstairs. It's a pain going down stairs to the bathroom in the early a.m. plus if you get sick in the middle of the night you will never make down stairs. But can't wait to see what you two decide. Blessing. I believe that little book rack under the stairs opens because you can see space under and over it. It's probably where the electronics are stored. Cute space.

I would recommend more windows up top and maybe even a doorway that leads out to a balcony from the loft area. It would give you more usable space for you and Danielle to relax in the evening after a long day of hard work you can relax while looking out across the land and watching the animals. I would make the bathroom to be all shower. As in you put the drain in the floor and put the shower head and no wall. I don’t like showers with tiled walls. Even the glass wall would give you more space
