Michael Walters Well, yeah. I can't exactly rock such a loud monster of metal in my tiny apartment. But, the desire for such an iconic piece of rock history burns like a fucking inferno, for sure.
As someone who owns that exact same Marshall from the exact same year, this one was definetey dropped from great heights (full stack punk show backfalls perhaps?) more than a few times to get those kinds of breaks. The re-fit looks awesome.
Damn I missed this video when it came out. I usually watch every video, dude. One of the best gear channels ever. And we look similarly (beard included) and play similarly (although Berklee and other music schools have me going to a neoclassical mode more often), so this channel is a must for me. If it sounds good here...it does in my home too, bruh! Thanks for the vids man, all killer.
Im considering re-shelling my 50 watt jcm 800 combo(circa84) into a head, cool vid, and yeh JCM800's, ultimate amp to just plug into, no pedals, and it just sounds devine
I know this will probably get lost in the comments below, but sometimes when I’m home alone, I like to go out in my garden and cover myself with dirt and pretend I’m a carrot.
I've always wanted a JCM 800, I would take a deal like that in a heartbeat if it was offer. Congrats! Looking forward to hearing how you make it sound.
So I recently got a Marshall JMD:1 head and it was shipped badly. The exterior shell was destroyed but the inside looks good. I so want to salvage it badly because Marshall themselves couldn't help me. Do you think they have a JMD:1 head shell?
Mojotone rocks, and they are in my home state to boot! About to score an 80's Peavey VMT 60 on a trade. Some say they are the poor man's modded 800, but I think they lean more towards a 5150, but with better components, and handy dandy freq response dip switches. I predict some loud BadMotorFingers in my future. Congrats on the new duds, and the swanky Orange endorsement. Stay Gold Ryan! Cheers!
Yo fluff! Speaking of cool DIY’s, I know you did an active pickup swap video AGES ago, but I’d love to see an updated one! A fishman install would be pretty amazing. Tried to get a set installed not too long ago and there’s not many videos out there on the process
it sounded magical with a smoked OT and running on 2 power tubes? wow...you probably killed all that magic by getting a new OT and fixing the power section lol Sounds like it had the Jose mod done to it which smoothen's out the gain by jumpering a diode in the gain stage...I just got a JCM900 4502 and am planning on doing all the tone mods to it, should be a monster when I'm done. Sort of considering making it a head and modifying the 2x12 combo cabinet into a stand alone cab...mostly due to the weight issue with the 4502 combo.
Colin I had a hot rodded marshall JCM 900 MkII Hi-Gain and a Full Stack of 1960A and JCM 900 1960B speaker cab's. Best sound, best tone of any amplifier on earth IMHO! I'd add the 2 1960's if I were you (get them used if money is an issue).
I'd go straight down to my local music equipment retail establishment and buy a pair of cabinets,...if only someone like Fluff could stick around and carry them into and out of the venues, and from my house to the van and back too...if he could sit in on rhythm guitar at the shows that would be pretty sweet too hahaha *all the craft beer you want Fluff* :P
Dude, i have a peavey studio pro 112 that i bought a couple of years ago, and the las owner painted the front cloth with spray the logo of the band that he played in. my question is, is there a way to clean that or replace that cloth?
Need a demo! I personally don't think it looks Blackstar, but if it does we know why. Blackstar is essentially past Marshall employees trying things out. I enjoy the HT5 but it is mos def not the best. Panama Feugo X is the affordable way to go.
Did anyone else thing this video was gonna be super complicated just to be in awe we he just yanked it out of the old headshell and threw it in the new one??
I've busted my wallet, sold all my shitty marshall'ish pedals and preamps and bought a JCM800 2204 clone with Russian 6P3S power tubes(kinda similar to 6L6's but less power and slightly different character). Waiting It from delivery now. This is my very first tube amp, I'm still can't believe I've bougth it!
If you wanted to impress us you should have retrofitted the JCM800 into a small plexi style chassis and then re-shelled the amp into a smaller plexi style shell.
i didn't know blackstar made JCM800s
just use the marshall emblem from old one
Words can't even come close to describe how much I want a JCM800.
It's on my want list, not my need list as too loud for most mere mortals (Apparently) VS100 will do me for now.
how about "really really really"?
Michael Walters Well, yeah. I can't exactly rock such a loud monster of metal in my tiny apartment. But, the desire for such an iconic piece of rock history burns like a fucking inferno, for sure.
Rudy Ayoub For super duper realsies, yo.
all the good thrash bands had them back in the day, albeit modified...
Mojotone also sells the Marshall amp/cab logos as well for those who were wondering! :)
So i guess it's a MarShell.
I'm not surry
I'm Suhr you'll be Suhrry later.
One thing I love about the 2203ZW, aside from me never being able to afford it, is the silver cover.
Man. The tension. The suspense. The drama. This was the most nerve-wracking Fluff video yet!
I could be wrong, but I believe "Splawn" makes a good replacement head shell for the JCM line.
As someone who owns that exact same Marshall from the exact same year, this one was definetey dropped from great heights (full stack punk show backfalls perhaps?) more than a few times to get those kinds of breaks. The re-fit looks awesome.

i can totaly see a market in Guitar amp chassi Replacement/Custom shells.
It sounded magical with a blown output transformer and two dead tubes?
Exit Riff is Dokken ? Unchain the Night?
It has 3 capacitors build on? Earlier models have up to 6 ive seen. Till 1984 i guess. Is there a big difference in the sound?
i am at this very moment getting my JCM800 4212 50 watt combo modified for the exact issue you were describing.
i want the old shell
Where did those ADAM A77X go? :O
Manu Haag I was wondering the same!
He probably had to send them back ... or he is trying new speakers for another video
Same
I think in a prior video he mentioned they went into a different studio of his
Im considering re-shelling my 50 watt jcm 800 combo(circa84) into a head, cool vid, and yeh JCM800's, ultimate amp to just plug into, no pedals, and it just sounds devine
Dropping some weight Fluff? Looking good!
*Amazing result*
can you do a demo of a 800 or 800 reissue?
I know this will probably get lost in the comments below, but sometimes when I’m home alone, I like to go out in my garden and cover myself with dirt and pretend I’m a carrot.
Let’s be friends
Can an 1985 2210 have a replacement shell? The 85 shell is much thinner and smaller. Any help would be great! Thanks!!
I bought one of these n returned it but will revisit it in the future it was voiced amazing tho wow and brutal loud
Hey fluff it's likely that amp was owned by L7 and that means in a crazy way, that amp has relation to Dave Grohl.
Very Nice.....wish I had my JCM 800 still.
You could put some rack ears on it and mount it in a rack?
Where do you get your shirts?! This blue one is exactly like the one I wore weekly since the ‘90s until it finally tore recently.
Man !!...........your demo entry riff tone is sick !!.........What head and cab was this ?............Cheers!
I've always wanted a JCM 800, I would take a deal like that in a heartbeat if it was offer. Congrats! Looking forward to hearing how you make it sound.
beautiful, when can we hear a video of her?
What happened with you gibson rd?
That’s a pretty darn good looking head there, Fluff!
So I recently got a Marshall JMD:1 head and it was shipped badly. The exterior shell was destroyed but the inside looks good. I so want to salvage it badly because Marshall themselves couldn't help me. Do you think they have a JMD:1 head shell?
Looks great! I've got a JCM2000 combo that I'd like to split into a head. Might have to see what can be done!
I wanna do the same with my jcm800 combo
Contact splawn. Scott can build anything.
awesome. 800s are really cool.
What's the point? You'll just get rid of it within a year like you do with literally all your gear
Better to put a working amp onto the used market then a broken one :)
Looks great
Hey Fluff, what about that white panels on the flor?
That looks clean as hell really cool
Fluff where have you been!
I love the new look, almost like the Wylde one (except its an original)
Anyone know that Grill Cloth code on MojoTone? I want it to match my 1960tv cab
Mojotone rocks, and they are in my home state to boot!

Stay Gold Ryan!
Cheers!
Distillers? Brody?
Did fluff ever make a bobblehead? I'd buy one.
Hmm, I live in Reno. I’ll see what I can dig up on this puppy.
Whats the intro song?
Who is your amp tech?
just retolex the old shell?
Would you sign my fender mim Strat???
How come you didn't just take the old marshal sign off tge old shell and put it in your new shell you got made fir you?
Rad cool video thx
I'd love to see what they did to mod it.
Nice! I want to hear it!
As Fluff was pulling out the amp from its old shell I was so worried that he was going to break off a valve!
Yo fluff! Speaking of cool DIY’s, I know you did an active pickup swap video AGES ago, but I’d love to see an updated one! A fishman install would be pretty amazing. Tried to get a set installed not too long ago and there’s not many videos out there on the process
hum..DEMO SOON...? 😀 Fantastic story and it looks amazing!
Oh man and we don't even get to hear it!!!!!!!! ;-D
Shame you couldn’t salvage the old shell, looks real vintage. Good choice on the new one though looks rad 🤘🏻
That new look is sharp.
can i reshell any amp?!
Liza Graves from Civet?
All females punkrock band from LA? The Donnas?
Good bet...
Donnas are still together. Maybe the Lunachicks? They're from NYC originally but they toured with Rancid a lot.
Donnas are from Palo Alto...just south of SF, not LA.
I was thinking Go Betty Go, but the guitar player still lives in LA.
Plus, the Donnas aren't punk
mmmm but is it true bypass?
I think I’m going to make a 10 hour loop of fluff grunting
it sounded magical with a smoked OT and running on 2 power tubes? wow...you probably killed all that magic by getting a new OT and fixing the power section lol Sounds like it had the Jose mod done to it which smoothen's out the gain by jumpering a diode in the gain stage...I just got a JCM900 4502 and am planning on doing all the tone mods to it, should be a monster when I'm done. So, owned by L7, then?
Come on, give us what we want. You doing a Blackstar amp review. Once we have it we will be happy.
Dude, i have a peavey studio pro 112 that i bought a couple of years ago, and the las owner painted the front cloth with spray the logo of the band that he played in. my question is, is there a way to clean that or replace that cloth?
Chris Gonzalez you can replace it pretty easy
When we gonna hang out man. I’m just down in Oregon ;)
D: Was here to hear the tone!! tease!
Dude, you should have re-logoed it and then painted the logo "Martial" or something parodied...assuming you're a fan of that. Looks great.
Looks awesome now but I would have kept the worn shell, it's got some serious mojo to it
It's so easy to recover an amp with a $30 staple gun and some vinyl from Spotlight or hobbylobby or whoever sells materials near you
Dear Fluf,
Please sell me that JCM.
please?
We need 2018 Studio tour !!!
Need a demo! I personally don't think it looks Blackstar, but if it does we know why. Blackstar is essentially past Marshall employees trying things out. I enjoy the HT5 but it is mos def not the best. Panama Feugo X is the affordable way to go.
Let's hear it!
Did anyone else thing this video was gonna be super complicated just to be in awe we he just yanked it out of the old headshell and threw it in the new one??
Guys, what's the song at the beginning? So heavy!
Марк Литвин I think it is a track Fluff himself recorded
+Ryder Grimes Yes I know but I want to hear a full version of it, to download it you know.
I love rancid!!!
Cool but how magical is it sound? I want proves!
ya hell prolly roll out a demo in a couple days
Cool vid! You should re-record your intro music using one of those awesome Orange amps you have! 🤘😉
Looks bad ass
the used look was soooooooooo much more appealing to me!
it looked authentic, now its lifeless and boring
i wonder what that punk band was
Missed opportunity to have a "Boxing" or "Re-Boxing" video. ;)
If you wanted to impress us you should have retrofitted the JCM800 into a small plexi style chassis and then re-shelled the amp into a smaller plexi style shell.
I might have suggested to just removed the Marshall logo from the old box you have.
Much prefer the beat up look. I need JCM800 ness in my life
Whoa, that thing is really beat up. Makes me glad I don't take my high-end shit on the road. Fuck that, lmao.
YES!!! Dad noises!!!
Really doesn't seem like you got that great of a deal. must sound really great.
That shit looks dope.
But y the old vintage used look is awesone
Sick!!!
i used to hate this head but now it's my favorite guitar tone but of course it needs some modding!
It needs an EQ or a tube screamer in front if you want to sound like 80's metal bands. If not, then nothings needed.
I think the grunting was the best part.
