Yep, Firefox is still my favorite for security and privacy (and general add-in utility). But I've been using edge for 2 months now, and I have to say it's not bad. Much faster than firefox or chrome. An intuitive design with a lot of useful, modern features. If there was less telemetry data collected, and better privacy options, I'd make the switch fully. But I don't think those things are coming anytime soon, so...
But at least it isn't the dumpster fire that it was at the Windows 10 launch. Beats the snot out of Google Chrome. I'd rank it behind Firefox and Brave, but ahead of Vivaldi, Tor, Safari and Chrome.
But I will stick with Firefox for anything mission critical or sensitive.

since 2014 to now 2023 I tried all the browsers on my old windows 7 womputer and new windows 10/11 computer but the best is Microsoft Edge,
its smoothness makes it flexible and the ability to recover both my account and passwords is just amazing

After riding the hate train for so long, people should give it a shot! Edge is actually very fast and lighter than other browsers I've used. It doesn't use that much ram and has tons of quality of life improvements. Personally the vertical tabs and ability to group them is a game changer for me!

They say you can "personalize" your feed page, but you can't. It's their overload and their content or nothing.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I get my Edge Web Broswer to look like this? Because mine is still looking like the old Edge, is this coming out in a future update? Is it out now? I have an i5 7th gen laptop i use vivaldi all the time with custom themes and shortcut thumbnails and lots of extentions and i can't relate
I activated the Windows 11 Acrylic menius and when i restarted the browser the acrylic effect was not showing in the menius

I have plenty of reasons to dislike Edge, and the way Microsoft has been forcing it, is already enough. However. This is quite cool and it's trying to push what we expect from a web browser. I know plenty of others already do it, but they're not as mainstream as this one is. Vertical tabs is especially great and hopefully this means it will become a staple everywhere else.

Edge is my daily driver for the last few months, and I'm not coming back, several reasons:
1. Access to sidebar tools. Whatsapp, notion, chat gpt, bing chat, gmail. Everyting on the side bar.
2. Supports chrome extensions.
3. Multitasking in edge it's just a next level experience.
I hated explorer and edge, until I actually used it.
I could easily implement bing chat into a Firefox extension.

I'm honestly stunned at this. I'd been using Chrome for ages, honestly hated it... it's slow and bloated and I swear the blasted thing just never worked quite right... but so many people insist it's the "best" option, so I just kept using it (and yes, I'm aware this is a really stupid reason). I decided a couple of months ago to switch to Edge because I'm on a bit of a "try new things" kick, and about a week later, I just outright uninstalled Chrome (which, after so much time spent arguing with it, was VERY satisfying to finally do). The difference in quality and features is just staggering, and the integration of the Bing AI is just lovely. Also, it doesn't try to eat my whole machine, or whatever nonsense Chrome was pulling with that massive memory usage it always somehow did. Kudos to everyone who works on this browser, I love it.

While I respect those who didn’t like those schemes, they do realize that Edge works perfectly fine like any other browser and it will stop be annoying to you once you use it.

I am not getting this new look for Edge. I have tried updating both Windows versions and Edge versions. Even tried the Dev version of Edge, still can't get it. Any help would be appreciated.

You shouldn't. Other core Windows features expect Edge to be installed, and could malfunction.

Install it yourself? Mobile Edge comes with ADB Plus, I guess it will never come bundled with Ublock

ABP is for the Android app only, and it's not as good as Ublock Origin anyway.

Edge on mobile is a disaster, no matter how good your phone is. It seems that it uses a web framework that translates to mobile app. Google uses a native approach to their apps, which makes the user experience so great. Edge and Bing are very slow to everything you do. I bet they change their full architecture on future. Till then I'll stick with Chrome or Firefox.

I like how they developed this new look for about a year and even made this introducing video, then dropped this redesign and just made tabs a little bit bigger lol.
(Microsoft Edge Canary channel, version 117.0.2040.0, new material has gone, Project Kodiak flags does nothing, now here's just Mica material in tiltebar, as it was before this "new look". Meanwhile Google Chrome uses Mica Alt as the titlebar material and fits in Windows 11 UI a way better than the browser developed by Microsoft lol)
