After watching this episode and the interview with Dr. Demers I started being aware of my posture and the position of my shoulders and neck. Thank you so much for bringing awareness to something that we can take charge of in order to keep our knitting going well.

This is probably my favorite show so far. I loved how you met and really appreciated the PT discussion. It's so important, especially as I age, to remember to move during long COVID knitting sessions. Thank you for all you do for this podcast and the best to Andrew. We are thinking of you daily.

Another wonderful episode from you, Andrew and Andrea - your sewing skills are superb Andrea - very inspiring! Thank you for a really enjoyable and informative interview with Carson. My grandmother was a fabulous knitter, and I remember that she used to take 'standing breaks', where she would take her knitting into the garden and knit while standing up, enjoying the sunshine. A dose of Vitamin D and a change of position - she was a very wise lady.

hi from Greece Andrea and Andrew. I can't wait for your next episode every fortnight. I've been inspired from your stranded knitting, Andrea. I am sorry for your injury but u r so creative that nothing can stop you create. The dresses you make are awsome. I adore the little dresse for your niece too. And I also love the colours on Andrew's new hat. The music you select for the different sections is wonderful!

I get so excited when you release anew episode of The Fruity Knitting Podcast. It is a top notch production. I so much enjoyed hearing the story of how you met and seeing your beautiful wedding photos. Also, congratulations to your beautiful daughter on her graduation and high marks. I truly hope to become a patron someday as your podcast is very important and worth the donation to me. Unfortunately, things are a bit difficult right now as I struggle with a disability and am unable to work. If and when my circumstances change, I will definitely become a patron to your wonderful podcast. Take care......Crystal.

This has to be one of my favorite episodes so far. I really enjoyed hearing the story of how the two of you met, the German course, and how you ended up in Germany and decided to stay. I had seen Carson Demers interviewed by Patty Lyons earlier this year so already knew he would have some good advice for Andrea before I saw this interview! I have always had trouble appreciating classical music (even though I've tried), but some of the other music that you play on the podcast is really enjoyable for me. The song by Montana Skies was so beautiful, and I'd never heard of them. Thank you!

I chuckled when Andrew said he was having trouble tensioning the yarn with his left hand. I'm right-handed but I was a crocheter for 36 yrs. before learning to knit 8 yrs ago so was used to a steady tension with my left hand. It's my right-handed-color knitting that I find hard to get the same tension due to not being used to winding the yarn between those fingers. Your work is beautiful!

Dear Andrea and Andrew, another fabulous episode! I really found the part about knitting injuries with Carsen was very informative and important to all of us. I also smiled hearing you telling your story why you are in Germany, as it is so much like ours! We left Sweden 2001 for three years-we thought... with three young children 9, 7 and 3 years old. Now our youngest son is only two tests away from completing his Matura (Abitur) another week of learning and then he will be done, hopefully! The other two have returned for Sweden to study there! Our kids also only speaks swedish with us and german "outside". We just kind of stayed on another year and another year, and still we do not know if we are going back or not...

Hi, Andrea and Andrew, I am delving back into older episodes that I’ve missed and this one was really terrific. Again, your choice of music suits me so well, I can’t tell you how much! I’m a symphonic musician and (no offence to some of my favourite podcasters!) I get tired of the music that comes from the ‘free music’ that’s available on RUclips. I really appreciate how thoughtfully you choose the excerpts. Also, I loved the interview with Carson, the subject is so important for all of us. I have had my share of concerns so I’m going to try to get my hands on his book. I could go on, because I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this episode (even the sewing, and I’m not a sewer!), but I’ll leave it there. Happy Knitting!

I was a sewing addict long before I became a knitting addict. To me knitting is so much more "scary" than sewing, so Carson's advice on relaxing and being mindful of relaxing was very helpful. I am sure, just as with sewing, over time knitting will become more natural and less frustrating (and scary) for me. I can sew the heck out of a Chanel jacket, but just put a complex knitting pattern in front of me and I feel my muscles tense :-) PS, I absolutely love your wonderful podcasts.

Great episode. Again I want to add that retaining good blood flow is important and you can do this with wrist and/or arm warmers. 100% angora is the best for this because it is thermal with the hollow core and is 8x warmer than wool . So the alleviation of pain is immediate. The warmth increases circulation and so increases blood flow that will reduce inflammation and alleviate an pain . Wearing these while knitting helps but also while resting especially sleeping and also hen taking a break from knitting as it helps with healing as well. Angora is the best fiber but wool and mohair or alpaca will help though not quite as well as angora.

Love your podcast… Greatly appreciate your mention of Dr. Sarno who I discovered in 2001 watching 20/20 here in the US And I had all the characteristics of someone with the mind body connection causing most everything they have experienced with symptoms. Recently, I overworked my hands trying to finish a project with double-stranded (unstretchy) yarn and did not stop when my ring finger and pinky finger were cramped so badly that I could not move them.... I took a break but it was very difficult as knitting has become my go to activity for stress relief. I am now knitting very mindfully and holding the needles much looser but having to go slower And for shorter time periods before I stretch… Which I do constantly after a few rows…and very frustrated that I do not have the skills to knit things that I want to knit so badly and constantly being told when I post or message that I will not be able to do something unless I know how to do something else. That alone creates more symptoms. I am sure there are people out there that will understand. Still, my pinky finger main knuckle is still an issue on both hands especially the left hand and I am an English knitter. I have been taping the last two fingers together and it seems to help but the discomfort has not gone away completely. I will not give up and your podcast with a reminder that I need to re-read Dr. Sarno‘s book… the exact one that you posted on the screen of your video. I have all of his books! Life changing reality to mention here because many people do not understand or even know about this from my own experience. I have spoken with people in the medical profession and they do not accept this most of the time. Again, I want to thank you for such a wonderful episode.

You both are terrific and I hope not beeing nasty here, but I can not stand the most knitting podcasts because I find it so tedious all these people showing socks and wool aquisitions and kals and prizes,. Of course, it is a very personally opinion and taste , they all are very valuable and I recognize how much work one has to film and edit a video. Anyway....It was a big surprise as I found you and I am wachting all episodes during my vacation, enjoying and learning.Thank you again and gute Besserung!

I believe the Shetland Isles were settle by people of Scandinavian descent that then were also populated by people from the mainland Scotland which means the descendants are a mix. The accents there are quite different from main land Scotland and you’ll find much Norse names over the isles. They are as close to Norway as main land Scotland.
