im never disappointed with the time spent watching the fruity knitting podcast. loved the interview with romi hill, a total inspiration and such a lovely individual. thank you once again for being a part of my evening, i couldn't have spent it any better :)
Hi Lynn. Thanks for watching and for your feedback. Romi is lovely and her designs are most definitely inspiring. You can find the program notes at: fruityknitting.com/2017/06/27/lace-knitting-romi-hill/ - I forgot to add the link to the RUclips description! A + A.
What a wonderful podcast. Thank you Fruity Knitting for giving me a glimpse into Romi Hill's beautiful designs. I have a copy of her book and look forward to knitting the cardigan or sweater. I hope to meet Romi Hill one day. Great podcast very informative.
Thanks Jeannie. It was such a pleasure for us to meet Romi in this way, and to share that with everyone. Thanks for leaving a comment and all the best with your Romi-designed garment!
Thanks, Sam! You might remember that Christie put in a video for one of our KAL collages. We were impressed by her worked and we happened to look up where she lived - then we had to ask her on. So glad we did. Love the creativity. A + A.
How lovely to see my ravelry friend Christie on here as the knitter of the world - Ive been admiring her coral reef work as it progresses And the interview with Romi was really good Yet another great episode!
Haha, Andrea, I loved hearing you say "go to town on" fabric selection. I thought that was an American south saying. I had a good chuckle at that! Keep up your wonderful work with the podcast. Thanks for all the information, entertainment and community.
Thanks, Nancy. It must be a more international expression - although the US obviously has a big influence on the world. And thanks for mentioning community - we love sharing the show with the knitting world. A + A.
Wow! Christie is quite the knitter and in such a beautiful little corner of the world. How fun it is to think about where in the world any one person might be knitting at any one moment, isn't it?
Hi Daphne. We were amazed when we saw where Christie lived, and her knitting is spectacular and unique, so we knew we had to feature her on the show. Cheers, A + A.
thank you again for another very interesting podcast , just love the dress that you have made for Madeline, I believe that the beautiful cardigan or sweater that you sometimes wear is also from the book Tudor Roses which I love to see you wear and I consider it to be a work of Art , so very talented all of you , can I also say how beautiful you looked to day that dress really suits you and I see that Andrew is getting along with his knitting ,also love the cardigan that you wore for the interview , any way thanks once again best wishes to you all xx
Hi Georgina, thanks for your very sweet comments.I love the dress that I'm wearing, you can't see it but the skirt has beautiful big tulips on it. It feels very feminine.
I just get so excited just hearing the intro music because I know what is about to come..... then cannot wait to watch. Okay, back to the podcast now :-)
Loved the Romi Hill segment- so many lovely patterns. Of course I had to immediately order the book! Andrea your interview style is wonderful. I really appreciate the insightful questions.
Hello guys: I wanted to thank u for the amazing work u do. My name is Hiromis, I am from Cuba and I am a very passionate knitter. I was told how to crochet when I was 6 and a year ago, I learn how to knit, thanks to RUclips. U and Mina from the expand podcast had been my inspiration, especially now, that i am back in Cuba (I was in India) and I cannot knit or crochet at all (is easier to find a glacial here than yarn), so I am very very frustrated right now but one day I hope I will b available to make beautiful garments like u. I wish u all the luck with the show and as I said before, I am really grateful for it, so keep it on. Bye!
Enjoyed the interview with Romi Hill. I knitted the “Happenstance” shawl designed by Romi for the Kate Davies Book of Haps and I am so pleased with it. Thanks for the fantastic podcasts
another great episode, thank you.Now I am not sure what I love most... fair isle or lace!I enjoy watching your extreme knitting and your happy dog also.Andrea, perhaps the portugese knitting style would be good for your arm.I have no problems anymore since I am using it, but I knit garder stitch purling exlusively. As soon as I get a new job I will be glad supporting you on patreon.Gut Besserung!
Another great episode. I did adjust my Beanie as well. and then just did two repeats and then the decrease. it is a great pattern. and I had had to unpick a few times cause of my count as well lol
Hi. I had another mishap last night - not concentrating. But I'm really looking forward to having the hat - at least once winter returns. Thanks for watching!
That dress is adorable! And such a clever design. I love that it is gently fitted with no darts. Christie"s knitting and crochet are very beautiful. I am wondering where she sources her yarn. I live in Thailand and sources for yarn are very limited. I suppose, though, since she is in Australia, ordering by mail is not a problem. Here, I would have to import yarn. I've compromised and started a project in hemp, which is locally available, but not the best for garments. Maybe one day I will try knitting in silk, but that will have to wait for a time when I feel I deserve a treat, as it is very expensive, even here in Thailand. I am wondering if you can put in a life line when doing FairIsle knitting. I haven't tried Fair Isle myself and I think I would need something to keep the row count and also be able to rip back rather than tink. And what about stitch markers. I never see anyone using stitch markers on Fair Isle? Careful with that ball of yarn, Extreme Knitter! I think Andrew needs a little wrist bag or over the shoulder bag for outdoor knitting. My, I am being bossy today! What is that thing Romi Hill said she used to block a sweater, a wooly...something?
Hi Joyce, glad you enjoyed the show again. Christie's work is very inspiring. If you go to our show notes fruityknitting.com you can get her contact details and ask her where she sources her yarn. I think you can use a lifeline in any form of knitting that you wish to, as well as stitch markers. Especially if it gives you more peace of mind. Happy Knitting. Andrea x
Andrea I would love to know what knitting patterns you are dreaming about while you are in this period of forced rest. for instance do you have books with pages turned down and yarn types and colors all imagined. and, thank you for your great designer interview. very good, thoughtful questions.
Hi Jane, I'm going to knit the simple Tee from Romi next. At the moment I'm not making myself crazy by looking at yarn and planning projects. I would get too depressed if I do that. I'm distracting myself with sewing until I can start knitting again. Glad you enjoyed the interview, thanks for your comment.
Your newly sewn dress is Beautiful-- I would have lead with "It has pockets!" but I understand the need for surprise. Did you sew the dress you wore this episode? I love all the colors!
Hi Shannon, The zig zag seams look particularly unique to me. The pockets are also cool but they're not the best part of the dress for me. Everybody has different preferences. Thank you for watching.
I really enjoyed this podcast. You do such a great job putting the videos together and interviewing, that your videos stand head and shoulders above the rest. I am definitely going to become a patron. Because I enjoy both lace knitting and sewing, this episode was especially enjoyable for me. Christie’s interview was delightful and Romi’s was very informative. Romi puts so much thought and artistic skill into her designs. I have this book and am working on the cover pullover. I want to make a couple of other items in it as well. Living close to Romi in Carson City, Nevada, I’ve run into her a couple of times at our local yarn store. She’s a lovely creative person and I love her work. Please continue with these outstanding videos. I love it that you and Andrew enjoy the same hobby and you two are so cute together. I ‘m off to patreon.com to become a patron. Thank you.
Hi Zandra. Thanks for getting back - we understand now. We do only have short sections where someone is talking with music in the background - that can be annoying. I'm not really sure what else we can do.
Hi Zandra. We realize that the music won't be to everyone's taste, but we have to accept that we can't please everyone. Hopefully you can enjoy the show anyway. Cheers, A + A.
What a pretty dress on a very lovely and pretty lady. I love your channel. You are both wonderful.
im never disappointed with the time spent watching the fruity knitting podcast. loved the interview with romi hill, a total inspiration and such a lovely individual. thank you once again for being a part of my evening, i couldn't have spent it any better :)

Oh my God, what a beautiful and peaceful place Romi Hill is knitting. I will like to be knitting next to her. Lovely podcast, thank you.
Hi Madelin, yes Romi's surroundings look wonderful. I would love to join her for an afternoon knitting on her porch.
What a wonderful podcast. Thank you Fruity Knitting for giving me a glimpse into Romi Hill's beautiful designs. I have a copy of her book and look forward to knitting the cardigan or sweater. I hope to meet Romi Hill one day. Great podcast very informative.

What a talented woman!
It is so fun to see Andrew on his hike in the forest.
Oh my! What an artistic and unique perspective from Christie! I was mesmerized. You never fail to deliver, Fruity Knitting! Thanks, again!
Thanks, Sam! You might remember that Christie put in a video for one of our KAL collages. We were impressed by her worked and we happened to look up where she lived - then we had to ask her on. So glad we did. Love the creativity. A + A.

When you knit again, have you thought about knitting accessory pieces (shawl, cardigans, or shrugs) for your new dresses.
Hi Karen, yes actually I've been thinking about it the other way around, making sure the material I pick suits my knitted cardigans.
Was that the new segment? Extreme yarn rolling? Thanks for sharing the bloopers!
Merci 🧶🇨🇦❤️

Andrew, you need a manly project bag for that extreme knitting! (keeps the wool clean.) lol
Yep - it got away from me for a moment there!

What lace?
27:36 for some reason there's more VM than usual in this yarn lol. Sorry you have a dog that likes to chase but doesn't fetch.
Hi it's not the fact I don't like the music but when your hard of hearing it puts you off
Hi Zandra. Thanks for getting back - we understand now. We do only have short sections where someone is talking with music in the background - that can be annoying. I'm not really sure what else we can do.
Sorry don't like the music
