Oh snap, you used one of MY photos of DCXL. The one with the measuring tape is mine. It's alright, it just surprised me. I got mine from Matt & Leah when they FIRST came on the market. A small plant cost me $50. I now have 8 pots of them!

Hey, I found your channel through shorts. Always adored flytraps and you're giving me some great ideas. Hope you enjoy doing what you do as much as I love watching.
This series is way too good, lol. I was able to get a venus fly tap about a week ago. Its such a tiny plant right now, but I'm hoping that it turns into a goliath after a couple of years. Currently learning about substrates and dormancy.
It’s a very rewarding hobby, have fun with your new flytrap 😁😁

I accidentally killed my Venus flytrap but I think it because I got too excited and fed all the traps at once which I later figured out takes too much energy. Now Bunnings keeps not having them.

Get a polarising filter for your camera. It will eliminate the glare on your charts. They usually rotate, so experiment for best position and the glare will disappear. Awesome videos, very informative.❤

Yoooooooo, new event dropped
Weirdly addictive to watch…….. I have both a DC XL and a B52 and they just keep multiplying!! I started with 2 of each, and now 4yrs later, I have what looks like 30-40 baby plants. They divided on their own, I always cut the flower stock off to prevent having seed formation too.
I got the fly traps to place in between my bonsai trees and help cut the pest numbers…….. but now I love em as much as my bonsais!!
i love them to, but i cant keep them alive! i use a mix of sphagnum moss and perlite for soil and giv only rain water.
I want to own a Venus fly trap coming spring time. Do you have a list of reputable places to buy them from?

Here's a tip for making a bigger flytrap
Step one: get the biggest flytrap you can find.
Step two: selectively bread the flytraps for bigger and bigger ones
Step three: continue step two until you are satisfied with the size of the flytrap
(I am not a plant scientist so this might not work but it also might, also it's a joke)

Would you cross pollinate B52 with any other of you Venus fly traps to create a larger trap or a larger trap with unique features?
My B52's aren't red like that. I have them indoors with no natural light. Is there a grow light that will work to make the look like this or do I have to leave them outside?

I enjoyed this, but don´t you consider making these events more like the first three? I liked how they were a bit faster paced. These are still great though! And my personal favourite is Brad´s Giant by the way.
Crosstooth may be the smallest VFT in the competition but he has the BIGGEST mouth and ego.
Until this video I thought you must be setting out to create a NEW competitive league (like the NBA or MLB) I mean, after all starting out those playing the first games of basketball or soccer or bad mitten must have looked cheesy and weird, but then in this video you said you know this is childish. Too bad you said that. You really have a good IDEA if you CULTIVATE it seriously.

be carefull when adding the bonuses right now, its not the same to add the bonuses in the middle and then get an average than getting the average and then adding the bonuses, it can skew the results, i think you should wait until the end of the competition to add the bonuses, that way is fair
Thanks for the heads up! Yes I am totalling their times and then averaging and then subtracting their bonus points off after I have that total, I have "automated" it on Excel and this way it is fair for all of the plants and wont lead to any mistakes :)
