Paolo Banchero is the MAN! Magic are going to be very happy with him over the years. I love the way this guy is developing.
No one watching them. But the defense is no joke. Issac should be defensive player of the year.

New Language In NBA Rule Book Regarding Traveling Violations
October 1, 2019
See below for more information about new language in the NBA rule book that governs Traveling violations:
The NBA Board of Governors has approved new language in the NBA rule book that governs traveling violations. The revision will not change the substance of the rule but will help eliminate the gap between the rule as written and how it has been applied in NBA games.
The official NBA rule book will now have a section that formally defines the “gather.” The text of the rule will also be revised to provide additional clarity regarding how many steps a player may take after the gather occurs.
The changes to the rule book are below:
Definition of the Gather
The following definition of the gather will be added to the definitions section of the playing rules:
For a player who receives a pass or gains possession of a loose ball, the gather is defined as the point where the player gains enough control of the ball to hold it, change hands, pass, shoot, or cradle it against his body.
For a player who is in control of the ball while dribbling, the gather is defined as the point where a player does any one of the following:
Puts two hands on the ball, or otherwise permits the ball to come to rest, while he is in control of it;
Puts a hand under the ball and brings it to a pause; or
Otherwise gains enough control of the ball to hold it, change hands, pass, shoot, or cradle it against his body.
Incorporating the Gather into the Traveling Rule
The gather will be expressly incorporated into the traveling rule to clarify how many steps a player may take after he receives the ball while progressing or completes his dribble:
A player who gathers the ball while progressing may (a) take two steps in coming to a stop, passing or shooting the ball or (b) if he has not yet dribbled, one step prior to releasing the ball to start his dribble.
A player who gathers the ball while dribbling may take two steps in coming to a stop, passing or shooting the ball.
The first step occurs when a foot, or both feet, touch the floor after the player gathers the ball.
It is indeed. You are allowed to take three steps but only if you dribble during the first step. But Jalen took no dribble at all, so its a travel…
@thehighground327 That's simply not true. You are allowed the exact same gather plus two steps when you gather the ball while "progressing" which is running without dribbling. Read. The. Rules.
@@cpataxprofuck the rules. This is a slippery slope ... whats next 5, 10 steps allowed?
@@steefvanburen7985 No. The same rules have been in place since 2019. They try not to be picky.. like a case could be made that Jalen gathered on his right foot instead of his left ... but that would be too picky to call. They are instructed to give the offensive player the benefit of the doubt with close calls like that.
Flynn dropped the most unexpected 50 piece in league history, setting the record for lowest career ppg to do it, and doing it off the bench, can you couldn't even put him in the top 10? we see dunks every single night, but never seen this.
Seriously. He definitely deserved to be on here.

@alexschmidt3034 why do you refuse to ever actually read or understand the actual rules? They are easily accessible with a simple search.
After receiving the ball and controlling it, a player only gets one step before they must dribble. They get two steps after the gather to release the ball if they decide not to dribble. If they are already dribbling and stop dribbling ("pick up their dribble") then they also get two steps before releasing the ball.

Nope. One gather step and then two before the dunk. Not a travel.
Travel in the traditional sense but the NBA allows players to get extra steps while they fumble/maneuver the ball about for some reason. Its travel-friendly league. You see moving/dragged pivot foots all the time and refs never call it. We are supposed to believe the players are just that skilled.
@@junsinator971 Not true. Americans crave action and the NBA gives it to them. The league purposely used the word "step" in the 2019 travel and pivot foot rules. There is nothing that allows a ref to call a split second travel foot violation or a pivot foot slide or drag ... it would need to be equal to an actual step (very egregious and significant) to require a whistle and a violation call. Face it, this is action and entertainment ... not some silly fixation on whistles.
@@cpataxpro That's fine. As long as we are honest about it. The NBA prefers not to be very strict on travelling so they change the rules and figure most don't care. I am typically a traditionalist. I don't mind adding new elements to the game as long as fundamentals aren't changed. Allowing some vague "gather step" violates the fundamentals which is why you cannot do this at any other level of basketball.

Puts two hands on the ball, or otherwise permits the ball to come to rest, while he is in control of it;
Puts a hand under the ball and brings it to a pause; or
Otherwise gains enough control of the ball to hold it, change hands, pass, shoot, or cradle it against his body.
The league rules. One gather step and then two before the dunk. Not a travel. Same rule since 2019.
