I love the McRib! Idk if they make them the same way as they did about 20 years ago when I worked there but I'll tell you how we made them. They come frozen, we cook them on the flattop. The sauce comes in a jug, we pour it in one of the warming trays. When the ribs are done you're supposed to squeeze all the grease out of them or else the sauce won't stick to them. After they are squeezed you stack them 2 high and 6 total in the tray of sauce.
Back in the 80s we would put the cooked patties in a deep stainless steel tray filled with barbecue sauce. Each tray could hold 15 patties, the trays were put in something they called a marinator. It could hold three full trays of patties.
It's the texture that kills it for me too. If you try the Banquet Frozen Backyard BBQ Boneless Patties, they have that same texture. For those who just totally like it, buy the Banquet family size, add pickles, slivered onions and get your favorite rolls and you can make 6 of them for under $10.
@@princessunicorn669I agree with the original person! Same with banquet Salisbury steak. I actually like banquet better than On-Cor. Both cheap but I think banquet is a tad better.
The hype is real… It’s all about my childhood…. If I had never had it as a kid, I probably would be standing in your court on it… but for me, it’s an absolute blast for my past, I look forward to it every year…
I few years ago, they gave me a double Mcrib by mistake. I LOVED it! I haven't had it since, but I always hope they will mess up again. I've had a few already this year, and to me, it's my favorite McDonald's item.
I have always loved the McRib !!! Gotta go double now that you’ve done it. Thanks for the idea Also this is my only disagreement with you about anything ever, the McRib is the Bomb !!! Haha
HOLYSHIT I DIDNT KNOW YOU COULD GET IT DOUBLE 🤯 i absolutely LOVE this thing and I get it every year…it’s just the combo of the pork flavor, onions, sauce, bread all coming together
I never knew there was a double. I use to Love them then I didn't because it seemed like they gave me the one that was sitting under the heat lamp for a hour. I got one last year and it was the BEST one ever ! I was going to never order another one again to leave it on a high note but now I just might have to try a double.
I don't know how they do it now but back in the day you couldn't get it without sauce because that's how it was heated. We had like steam warmer that held the sauce. The mcribs were heated in the sauce.
How in the hell did he get one so soon? December 3 is when it is released. I am so jealous right now. Dude, to each his own. I love McRib don't hate on it.
I had one last night after over 15 years. It was great, but it didn't hit the same as when I was a child trying to devour such a sandwich. The messiness is part of the fun.
What you need is to kick it up a notch by using a green habanero hot sauce (El Yucateco) brand applied on top of the “ribs”. Then you will love it 😍 🤤 the combination of sauces work in harmony together…trust me 👍
The only time I go to McDonald's is when they bring back the McRib. I would never consider McDonald's a culinary experience. My son and I always get it every year.
If you go to McDonald's for a culinary experience, I feel for you. The Mcrib, fish sandwich, and Mcmuffins are just different, a change of pace from sub-par average burgers, and it works.
I really do like the McRib, if I can get it as ordered. I have one in front of me now, ordered and double-checked as NO PICKLES that has no less than 7 pieces of pickle on it. Leaves residual pickle taste, but otherwise I like it a lot. Love the onions.
Believe it or not, I actually like the "rubbery" texture of the McRib. It's the similar texture as an original Harvey's hamburger up in Canada, which I've always enjoyed, along with the taste of its unique seasoning. The McRib has that texture along with the nice tasting BBQ sauce and the onion slivers (I order it without the pickles).
I get the McRib every time it comes out. I like the way it tastes, but it never tastes as good as I remember it from back in the 90s. So I guess it’s a nostalgic thing for me
McRib has always been one of those foods for me that fits into that category "it's so bad its good" Kinda like hamburger helper, instant ramen, kraft mac and cheese and those types of foods. Just things that I grew up with that I know as an adult now I shouldn't like but still do.
The problem with the sauce is that their assembly procedure is to tip the entire slab into a vat of the sauce than sling it onto the bun. Then add the fact that 98% of their employees are poorly trained and lazy, and they don't allow any of it to drain back before slapping the mess together, and this is what you wind up with. McDonalds is an absolute embarrassment nowadays, a once-proud fast food chain that was laser-focused on consistency, value, and cleanliness - now they have none of those traits.
I got one yesterday it wasn't bad if you can get passed the fact you are eating a constructed pork patty with enough preservatives to stun a mule then its not that bad I get one at least once a year.
I love this sandwich soooo much!!!! My only complaint is I can never get enough onions from the micky-D NO matter what I try or ask for. Please, please, please don't take it away ever again. I eat them daily and sometimes twice daily when they come out. Stop thinking about the composition and enjoy the taste!!!
I love my McRib! Yummy 😋. Going get some now!! I always get it when it returns. Sorry you don't like the texture, it's definitely for me. Cajun country.
If someone can eat a McDonalds burger the McRib is a higher level with good sauce to throw you off the grind up. Like it with no onions. How much was the double mcrib?
I had my first and only McRib about 5 years ago. My wife Meade me try it, she loves it. I don’t. I would rather take the McRib bun and put the equivalent of 2 Big Macs on the longer bun. Picture it 4 beef patties, special sauce , lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a McRib bun.
The McRib, you either love it or hate it. I happen to like the McRib. But because it is such a love hate relationship for most people. McDonald's won't keep it on the menu full-time. I do agree about the texture of the meat. Probably why they douse on the BBQ sauce. For a short time, Burger King offered real ribs. They were actually really good. But didn't stay on the menu long. Seems to be the same story. For most fast food chains. Anything good gets the axe.
I'm trying hard to figure out if it's a trick of the camera or is your sandwich way bigger than the one I got tonight. Mine looked slightly larger than a slider. I swear the bun was 4" long and 2" wide, two tiny pickles and three slivers of onion for $5.39. I feel so taken 😡
That’s so funny!! 😂 You have this high hope that one day you’ll actually like the McRib! Dude I am right there with you, and many more I’m sure, the built sandwich looks “so good” yet it’s from McDonald’s. McDonald’s is crazy! It’s like in its own world of food! A LOT of people like it! It’s one of the, if not, biggest fast food chains in the world🌎 I want to compare them to like in-n-out, five guys, shake shack… but we can’t!..It’s McDonald’s!..It’s in its own category!
I had one McRib about 10 years ago. Just not a fan. I had a Big Mac & McDouble yesterday for a quick fix but no to the McRib. I thought you'd give the McRib about a 55 but you went even lower. I believe your review is fair.
Im with you that texture is so odd. My sister in law use to get so excited for the day they'd return. Not a fan and definitely not on board for a double.
O, I don't like a lot of sauce on anything, when I use to get one at McDonalds years ago I would ask them to shake off the excess sauce instead of how it comes out of the warming pot. I see nothing wrong with the texture of the rib patty & would prefer a McRib patty on a sandwich rather than pulled pork. Jus never been a fan of BBQ, guess because of all the sauce. Believe the last time I went to a BBQ restaurant was on a vacation in 2016 at the beach, we went to a family owned homestyle restaurant in Murrells Inlet. Luckily they had other items other BBQ on the buffet like oysters & fish but their seasoned collard greens were about the best I've ever had.
I rather have 2 single McRibs than a double, its too much. lol but I dont eat pork anymore I wish they'd come out with a chicken or vegetarian version. I love all the BBQ sauce.
Sorry but I would only make my copycat McRib at home for a fraction of the price McDonald's wants for one ($5.79 & $9.69 for the meal) on my local McDonald's app. I haven't been to McDonald's since September 2022, McDonald's lost me a weekly customer when they started raising their prices regularly. There are 3 frozen brands of rib patties I've seen (Corky's, Banquet & ON-COR) with BBQ sauce in a tub ready for heating or jus the frozen rib shaped patty in a bag without any sauce. You can buy almost the perfect size & shape of bun/roll on the bread isle & they come in a pack of 6 like the tub of rib patties. You easily make 6 homemade ribs with onions & pickles for between $8 to $10 max.

My late wife loved this sandwich. So once a year I eat one in her memory.
Cheers to her memory.
I dp this for my Deddy
Your comment made me tear up. Truth be told.😢
Planning on getting one this weekend in memory of my dad, so I get you on this.
It was my Mom for me…she loved them.
I LOVE the McRib! Soft bun, tender rib patty, so saucy, the crunch with those onions, wow! That double looked like a dream to me! Mmmmmm!
I got one for lunch and dinner the other day, I love them.
I love the McRib! Idk if they make them the same way as they did about 20 years ago when I worked there but I'll tell you how we made them. They come frozen, we cook them on the flattop. I worked at McDonalds in Germany in 2016 and this is exactly how we made them. Permanent menu item in Germany.
I love the McRib!!!
Back in the 80s we would put the cooked patties in a deep stainless steel tray filled with barbecue sauce. Each tray could hold 15 patties, the trays were put in something they called a marinator. It could hold three full trays of patties.
Usually, I'm not too fond of the McRib, but the one I had on Wednesday was the best one I've ever had. In Michigan, we got a great batch this year.
I totally know what you mean. Those joints taste great over some rice tho
@@christopherwatkins2047I like em lol.. sometimes that processed stuff hits
Thanks for the Tip about the Banquet Backyard BBQ Boneless Patties for homemade Mc Ribs. What about the On-Cor boneless rib patties?
@@princessunicorn669I agree with the original person! Same with banquet Salisbury steak. I actually like banquet better than On-Cor. Both cheap but I think banquet is a tad better.

Got one for lunch yesterday and it didn’t disappoint!!! So happy it is back! McRib forever!!!

Came to say this
They grill the patty first now. then just dip in the sauce.
So, doesn't like the McRib, doesn't like the texture, knew this going in and so what does he do...Double Please!
This year's McRib's seem better than usual. My wife and I had them twice from 2 different locations, and they were amazing IMHO.
How in the hell did he get one so soon? December 3 is when it is released. I am so jealous right now. Dude, to each his own. I love McRib don't hate on it.
Love the McRib but I’m not sure why. 🤣😂 Cool review, enforcer. People seem to have a love/hate relationship with this sandwich. 😃😎
I love the McRib, I wait for it all year. Love the sauce! It returned the day before Thanksgiving here and I've already had four of them!
Careful it can pack on the pounds lol
They should put it in a wrapper too like some of the smaller sandwiches making it easier to hold while eating and catch the sauce 💦 drip. 🤔😮
Texture. Yes.
The texture screams processed.
It's a love or hate item.
Personally I like the McRib
Every time the McRib is launched...I crave one, so I buy it and I'm always left disappointed.
Never to buy another one until the next McRib launch.
I used to buy a McRib and a McDouble. I'd shed the McDouble bun and then stuff the contents into the McRib. Wonderful flavour!
3:30 before he even takes a bite. U talk too much
Lol I mean...imagine....for an item review....you were to talk about...what you're reviewing.
Everyone knows the Mc rib is best around 11 PM when you’re blackout drunk in the drive-through in your car

Never had one but I have diabetes and live without meds for it so keto doesn't allow it. It looks tasty, though.
That’s a TV dinner pork Pattie dipped in McDonald’s BBQ sauce
Yep ! Taste exactly like them
Ive seen them in the meat section by themselves with no sauce. Pre cooked.
I don't know. The Hungry Man is better than this. LOL
Love the Mcrib!😮 I'm not on board my guy!😔
this tastes like lunch at public school.... feel me?
Heck yeah. I agree with you New! Hope you are good and have a great Holiday!!

I can't wait get some.

Love the McRib! 🤤😋😊❤
So how did he get it before 3rd
Central Virginia does not have them yet??
I'm so glad u took that white shirt off 😂 ha ha messy 🤣

What is that mean?
I know i made a comment about the McScary but should i try one? 😮. Mr Endorsement gave it a score of 25! I scared to try it. LOL.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! ITS BAD ASS

I tried a McRib last year. Couldn't finish it.
A local chain of gas stations in my area has a similar sandwich that’s 10 times better.
If you love it you love it or you hate it. It’s fine for me I always get it a couple times at least. It is what it is it’s McDonalds!
It’s “flooded” with barbecue sauce to mask the artificial “rib” premise!
Exactly 👍
I buy the Oncor ones at walmart and make them at home if i want, but even those are just ,ok
mccrib always slaps
