I would love to see the double-decker Airbus A380 and its newer future variants continuing in the aviation world for at least another 30 years. Such a breathtaking piece of engineering, human ingenuity, and bold endeavour to be marvelled at!
this is a cracking first video on this channel love it lads...I've flown the a380 with emirates many times and having flown the 787 and a350 as well it's still my favourite to fly on the space, comfort and how quiet it is, is amazing. Would love to see a Neo version if that were possible in the future.
Cannot compare the 747 with the 380. Different times ETOPS etc. But just because there is a great need for point to point, there is also a need for major hub operations. Just less. And there is a plane that can do it. One shoe does not fit all. The bigger, the less needed
The 747 is a dream aircraft, and one that I have flown on many time between Australia and Europe. The seating was much more roomier than today's aircraft.
The 380neo isn’t going to happen. EK pushed Airbus for the original 380-900 but with new gen engines but because nobody else was interested, Airbus said “Non!” The 747-8 was flawed from the start, airlines didn’t want 60s design - which is why the vast majority were cargo versions. Simply put, the 380 won the battle of super jumbos, but I can’t see another one coming in the next 10-15yrs
I think cost wise the 4 engined 380s are costlier to maintain because of the huge infrastructure that is required to keep them running. Passenger numbers are not going to always remain high. With the post Covid boom in travel is more likely due to revenge tourism. What ever may be the case the very fact that when airbus launched the A380 the demand for 4 engined super jumbos were already on the decline and unless there is a radical change in the commercial travel industry which is dependent on maximizing profits and minimizing costs then we won’t see 380s entering the sector in droves.
If the Boeing 747 and airbus a380 comes back into production then they should make them more efficient and also modernize the old 747 variants like 747-100, 747-sp, 747-200, 747-300, 747-400, and the 747-8 to 747 max,
For economy class the a380 can't be beat for its level of comfort on long flights, and If you ask nicely, you can usually go up to the mini bar that so many airlines equip for business and first class passengers.
A really good video, you got my sub Just a little note, how you explained many concepts were awesome for someone not familiar with the aero industry such as the engine bypass ratio, but the explanation was half done. You could’ve explained what it was instead of saying it’s “the bypass area of the engine” Little things like that alienate both the enthusiasts who already know and feel you’re talking down to them, and the new who will not fully understand what you’re talking about.
A380. Easily the best, most comfortable and quietest large aircraft in the skies. Just ask the public which would be their plane of choice longhaul. Even in economy.
One airline ie Emirates is not enough. I think you answered your own question when you said the hub and spoke is dead. Smaller aircraft offer more frequency also. So rather than a daily flight several or more flights per day are possible with smaller aircraft. Meaning higher aircraft utilisation. Tim Clarkes best chance is to re-engine his fleet.
Just finished watching (second time) I realise it was a team production, but good to see Martin front & centre. Slightly distracted by the arm movements and lack of dramatic pauses in continuous narrative, but stunning delivery More please! ❤
The Airbus made one of their A380's first flight last year (Mar 2022) with Sustainable Fuel, making it Airbus's 2nd Aircraft after A319neo (Sep/Oct 2019). Hence it is sustainable, and offers better range when compared to B747-8 AS WELL AS Boeing's latest Family Member - The B777X.
I flew on a Pan Am 747 to the States in 1986. Then on one of the last Virgin Atlantic’s 747’s in 2019. Lovely plane! I hope one day to fly on the 380! Just to compare as you do! 🤣🤣🤞🤞
Absolutely according to Tim Clark boss of Emirates a380 will be retired by 2040 airbus could sans will develop the a390 tripple decker wuth 3 engines on each side ultra first class and mire loubges and swimming pool and library so a390 will be out soon
No one is going to develop a new jumbo since oil supplies will be depleted in thirty to fourty years time. There are currently about 300 B777X on order. Those will be the last jumbos. The A380 was twenty years late. It should never have been built. Boeing rightfully argued at the time that the market was moving to a point to point model, and they designed the B787. Even the redesign of the B747 was a waste of money. As for e-fuels, those are far too expensive to produce. They are a smoke screen to convince air travellers that they should not worry about the environment because one day air travel will be carbon neutral. Air travel will become carbon neutral when the world runs out of oil because aviation will then largely disappear. So enjoy it while it lasts.
It’s to late. The design office is long closed a NEO option would require dumping close to 8 billion into a program that’s already lost several times that. Never Happen

Also, a new 747 max
Absolutely bring them back a380 and 747-8

Thank you! 💙
I better hope that the 747 and a380 will return into production/service.

yup she's a beauty. I travelled on em many times in the 90's and 2000's between Korea and LAX

An excellent presentation. Let's see the effect of the 777X.
Nice video guys! 😀
Thanks! 😀
Yes delta
I love this video for the planes! Hopefully will see you for the more exciting lads! 👍
Good luck with the new channel. Love the content. ✈️
Thank you so much 🤗
Great start to the channel's content chaps- really good video. The future for aviation might be more exciting than we think.
Cheers Malky, keeping our fingers and toes crossed!
This video could have lasted 1 m rarher than 9 ,not sure about the previous 8m added value.

Exactly the type of interesting video that I like to see ! Well done lads 👍
Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it - more to come!
great video
Glad you liked it!

The 747 Double Decker with revised RR engines would be a great option to have...!
Full Double Decker, not just an extended bubble....

I would not call it the A380NEO, I would call it the A38X
Great video guys, flown many Boeing 747`s first being with British Airways and later KLM, great flying experiences - Now for the A380 !!
cheers Mike! hope you get on one soon!

Any airplane can use sustainable fuel. Several airlines like United have been experimenting with use of sistainable fuel in Boeing planes.

If theres a new 747-100 max, i would paint it in old pan am livery

Excellent content even for seasoned aviation fans 😊
thanks Martin!
emritas can just refit new engines on the old airframes. they have got 150 or so jets so it could be worth it
A new A370
💙
Not anytime soon. Airbus and Boeing have both made that clear. It's wishful thinking. Technology and the industry moved on.
maybe?
🫴🏻✨👏🏻🤍✨🫴🏻✨

The Airbus A380 is too big and not suited for use.
Fewer Seats, not Less Seats !! 🤪🥴 Dear oh dear .. 😣
