Me and Akasha can't tell you how grateful and humbled we are that you guys tune in on a regular basis to see her lovely face and my annoying loud northern voice.

THANK YOU GUYS!!
I’m 29 and lost count the amount of times I’ve watched Only Fools and Horses, absolute legendary series
Same here, 29 too and have rewatched these episodes so many times I can literally quote half the script of the entire show lol
I'm 35 and same here
I'm 22 and same
@@paxtonpomykal5243 I think king boomer thinks of OFAH as an 80s show in a different era from the current one, but don't think he realises it ran for so long it went through changes in era and prbs will become more relatable to him
37 and same
I feel like OFAH really is one of them shows that doesn't do 'clips' very well. It's entirely based on the excellent writing and brilliant acting. You almsot feel as if the characters are people you know and like. It started off as just a sitcom but became much more than that. It became a comedy drama.
Greatest British show ever made.
Greetings from Staffordshire, England.
100% agree
By far the greatest British show ever made, its so British and so funny its ridiculous....brilliant
The character with the white beard is Uncle Albert, Grandad's brother. He was brought in when the actor playing Grandad died. The writer, John Sullivan, didn't want to recast the character, so he wrote an episode where Grandad dies, and at the funeral (filmed only a few weeks after the cast had attended Leonard Pierce's actual funeral) the brothers meet their Uncle, who other relatives then dump on them and he ends up living with them. One of the greatest Only Fools scenes, is where Uncle Albert has to act shocked at Rodney taking a girl to the pictures, well worth finding and reacting to.
Uuuurrghh! A girl 😂😂😂
Classic
That is my most favourite Only Fools scene!
I'LL WHACK YOU ONE IN A MINUTE!! 🤣
Came here to make the same comment... NOT Grandad, but Uncle Albert 👍
The cheeseburger one has me dying
I think that moment is funny because you can tell that David Jason is trying not to burst out laughing.
the chandelier was the best ever in my opinion, also, the blow up dolls, classis, and the paint
The Gary gang gets me every time
The chandelier episode is one of my favourite ones, also the one where del boy does the paragliding and the spring water episode was brilliant as well 😂
I've watched this show for 25 years and I still find it as funny when I seen it first time
Chandelier sketch. Funniest ever.
The best show to come out of the UK in my opinion! Definitely give it another try if you can
That's a big call to make when you consider how many good shows have been made in the UK
It’s certainly the best comedy.
It's not just the greatest comedy to come out of the UK, it's the greatest comedy to come out of anywhere.
Yuppie = Young, upwardly mobile. A young, middle-class person with a well-paid job.
Young urban professional.
A wank.r
Yawningly Uninteresting People Paid Excessive Salaries
I’m turning 15 and I’ve been brought up watching only fools essentially every week of my life and let’s just say its a bloody class way to bring a kid up to be a proper-en - Rodders, this time next year we’ll be millionaires
Del boy is one of the greatest character.
OFAH is a BBC sitcom about an underclass family who live in a council flat in a tower block. It ran from 1981-2003 & is set in Peckham, S London.
Just for info: The block was called Nelson Mandela House.
Working class.
Do You think people are stupid "mate?"
Stage Fright was one of the best episodes ever!
Y.U.P.P.Y= Young And Upwardly Mobile
The reference to "flexible friend" is a throw back to an advert for Access credit cards.
it might have already been said, this was not the last episode, they lived the life of luxury, but never forgot there routes, then they lost everything.
pure genius for its time
The greatest ever show made with the most lovable characters ever imaginable. No matter how sad you are feeling no matter what’s going on in your life you can put only fools on and it will brighten your day
Only fools and horses has 64 episodes, starting in 1981 and finished in 2003.
Yeah and British tv repeats the same 6 episodes over and over.
I was going to say that unless he’s a lot younger than I think he is then it wasn’t before his time. I was born in 81 (I thought the show came out a year before I was born but maybe not) and I remember growing up watching it. I’m 42 and it says in the video that these two are in theirs 30s so I don’t think it’s before his time :-/
Only fools and horses is timeless
The 80s had loads of slang like YUPPIE (Young Urban Professional Person In Employment), DINKY (Double Income No Kids), Lombard (Loads Of Money But A Right Dickhead) etc.
No, it was Young Upwardly mobile Person
Best sitcom ever
"Ivor hardy" 😂 only fools is the best 👌your wife is lucky to be seeing episodes for the first time.
Greatest situation comedy ever. You should maybe do a reaction to "Triggers best bits"from only fools and horses.
Alright Dave
Lots of people have reacted to the entire series on here. You two should do the same. EVERYONE in the UK loves this show. There's so much more than comedy. There are tears, drama, laughter. It's the complete package. And to watch these 2 from beginning to end and to see them grow older is truly a gift. It's an amazing show.
Exactly. This reaction is lukewarm and lacking. It's very drawn out with his explanation and they don't laugh 🤣 enough in the beginning
Yuppie was a term used for young urban professional. Usually dealing in stocks and shares. Always had a Filofax and said "Ok yar". Usually off their nuts on cocaine. It was a thing in the 80s but short lived when the stocks crashed and they all found themselves doing mundane jobs. The one clip they didn't put on there was the chandelier. You really must show wifey that one..... classic. ✌️♥️🇬🇧
YES.
Young and UPwardly moobile
On the Bar scene: John Sullivan wrote it as the night before production he had been at the local pub and witnessed someone nearly do exactly this; when he told David Jason (Del Boy) about it; Jason was adamant that unlike that man - del boy had to fall through the bar.
also years later when Nicholas Lyndhurst (Rodney) fronted his own Iconic Sit-com, Goodnight Sweetheart, as a tribute to this moment & John Sullivan, he included a scene whereby his character very nearly repeats Del's mistake only to break the 4th wall and give an old tap of the head to the camera before lowering the bar.
Only fools and horses never gets old. Even my kids in their early twenties love it.
Her reaction was PRICELESS I love seeing American's react to British or Australian comedy, so different from the American humour they grown up with 🤓 Hi from Australia 😇
Shame you leaving - Your content is brilliant & relaxing
The bar gag is timeless as the chandelier. Also a mention for the Wendy House joke that got the show's biggest audience laugh, so much that the cast often referred lines in the script they thought would get a big laugh as a 'Wendy'. 10.19 the famous Batman & Robin scenes were filmed in Bristol, not Peckham (the show's later seasons filmed a lot in Bristol).
When Del fell at the bar it wasn't actually scripted but David just went with it 😂😂
i must have seen the shows a 1000 times and they still make me laugh
I think you might be lacking intelligence.
@@andrewmay1299 be careful when you are thinking you might hurt yourself i know its difficult for you
Greatest British comedy of all time
Hey Fen and Akasha. Congratulations on 10k! Love the vids and keep them coming.
In America, we call a “council estate” a “project home” or “the projects.” Cheers!
Thank for sharing this, although you made me feel very old! There were a few more specials after the auction episode.
Never noticed before, the female robber is Sheree Murphy from Emmerdale, Harry Kewell's ex-wife. Looked on Wikipedia and she was in an episode in 1996
The three wheeled car was created to get around paying car tax on what was classed for licensing and tax purposes as a motorcycle and sidecar.
The best telly show ever!
Triggers broom and the chandelier scene are both classic clips!
triggers 20 year old broom “This old broom has had 17 new heads and 14 new handles in its time.”
Racquel giving birth and the one with the blow up dolls, Rodney ' winning ' a trip to Majorca, all hysterical but you need to watch the whole thing, not clipped parts.
Love seeing an English man trying to explain to his American wife about classic English comedy .... Good luck with that pal lol always like your video and watch, to help you out guys
Yeah I get your meaning. I've watched Americans react to English comedies when it's not explained to them. They just don't understand the humour still to be fair only fools does have alot of slang
yuppie... a fashionable young middle-class person with a well-paid job. the one where Rodney has to pretend to be 14 is a really good episode.
All the way through the show, Dels running saying was "this time next year, Rodney. we are going to be millionaires."
Mate loved this 😂. You need to make time and watch from episode 1 all the way through this epic comedy 😊. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! My most favourite show of all time, and I'm lucky and blessed enough to have them on original recordings from the day, so all with original music and unedited. But honestly give em a go.😊
You missed Del and Boycie playing poker at the flat."I knew you was cheating." Oh yeah, how? "Cos that wasn't the hand I dealt ya." Comic genius.
Flexible friend is a credit card.
A yuppie was an 80's Cockney word for someone who worked in a high end job in the city, wore a nice suit, carried a filo fax and a mobile phone, drank in wine bars etc.
Yuppie - young urban professional
yuppies are a word in the 80s for younger rich people, like people in their 20s-30s who were nearly millionaires.
The show ran into the 2000s. Its worldwide iconic. I was born in 86 and love fools and horses
Yuppies are an acronym for Young Urban Professionals who worked as Stock Brokers in the City of London.
Yuppie is from the 80s , young middle class people with well paid city jobs , always dressed smart and carried a filofax, which is a notebook/planner/Diary all folded up in a leather case normally with a pen.
Grandad was my favourite character.
Mate I still fall asleep to Only Fools and Horses today!
Pop it on Britbox on my mobile and soundly sleep away. Never fails 👌
One of the best shows of all time 🙌 sorry to the English husband here but you’ve given a lot of incorrect information 😂 ‘sort’ means a looker not posh
This is the best show ever!
Mate.... you gotta hit her with the classics..
Are you being served?
Keeping up Appearances
Vicar of Dibley
Up all Hours
Last of the Summer Wine
Mate, you said Uncle Albert was the Grandpa!!!
Well done on reaching 10k, really enjoy your channel. Fools & Horses is an all time classic, good montage. Should’ve included the chandelier clip too though. 😂
I wondered when someone would bring that up.
I'm the greatest fan of only fools & horses however I'm surprised by many of the comments saying its the best comedy ever. Obviously their are shows that have been overlooked.
Best comedy series ever
Little bit of info for you, trigger was originally not supposed to be in that scene where del fell through the bar, John Sullivan wrote him into the scene, as trigger wanted to be in it
Triggers reaction made it even funnier 😆
@@davebirch1976 sure did 😂
I've seen lots of Americans react to Fools and Horses, they can never REALLY get it like Brits, they may giggle a bit but to really appreciate this genius comedy you have to be brought up in England, better still London, only then will you relate and howl with laughter!
'Yuppie', was a term used in the late 80's for, 'young upwardly-mobile professional', business types who worked in the city and would carry a filofax around with them as a matter of principle with their contacts and business appointments in. Obviously affluent and spending most of their free time in expensive wine bars with other yuppie types.
It came back for 3 more episodes
They bought the pocket watch at the start of their career and put it away thinking it was nothing much - in each episode when things always went badly Del Boy repeated "this time next year we will be millionaires Rodney" as a morale boost - at the end after 10 years and 64 episodes when they were bankrupt they found that the watch was a bit valuable.
Awh man the job clip finishes before the best bits
As a bit of extra information. That "fancy dress party" they were going to (dressed as Batman and Robin) was actually a wake. Del boy had been setup by his friend Boysie, so there were plenty more laughs to be had in that episode.
I’m not sure that it was so much of a set up - I think it was originally a fancy dress party but that then became a wake because Harry had died and nobody told Del and Rodney. It’s been a while since I watched it though so I could be wrong.
I got to meet the whole crew on the day of Jon Sullivans cremation. He was cremated at Randalls Park Cemetery in Leatherhead. David Jason was a real gent, i took him for a tour of the grounds and could feel the sadness radiating off him. Nicholas Lyndhurst ripped the front bumper of his Range Rover while leaving as he was in a real state of upset, he was grey and looking very withdrawn. On a lighter note when Trigger arrived, being driven by Cassandra and Raquel. They were the last to arrive and when he pulled in, he leant out of the window and shouted "I would have been on time, but bloody women drivers", completely diffusing any tension. A beautiful group of people. I love them all deeply.
Yeah I think you missed a couple of episodes after they got rich in the Christmas trilogy in 1996. But I'll let you watch them ones definitely called strangers on the shore and I can't remember if there was one more. I'll have to check out my boxset collection of only fools and horses. It's been a long time since I last checked them out myself. So I give you a heads up on the title.
Best comedy ever
it absolutely definitely was not the final episode 😂😂😂
I think it’s the greatest sitcom ever made
Only fools & Horse's was on of my favorites, but I like Faulty Towers, Love Thy Neighbour, 2 Ronnies, Benny Hill, Porridge, On the Buses, Dad's Army, & comedians, Dave Allen, Al Murray, Jasper Carrott, Bernard Manning, Peter Kay, Peter Kay Car share kidnap a monkey, Have a look at some of these & you will be laughing 😂🇺🇸🇬🇧👍
Albert being questioned in thr Court room
The 3 wheelers were to save tax. They were classed as motorcycles. Cheap transport, fibre glass body.
Let's not forget they ended up with a second vehicle later on, the lime green Ford Capri (aka the pratmobile 😆)
Mate I’m 25 and only fools and horses is bloody hilarious
That's great and please tell me you don't watch The Office? I will take Only Fools and Horses any day
@@PR7-82 never watched it need to though but bet it’s funny aswell
Shows how good the bar scene is that even with the title spoiler, it's still hilarious.
Should have got a jolly boy’s outing clip in there as well such as the coach ‘incident’ if you know, you know
How could you not put the Chandler scene in there, also one of the top moments 😅😅
Sleepless in Peckham the final one.
Yuppie means 'young urban professional'
You totally have to show her some of the Jimmy Carr, to see how she likes proper British dark and offensive jokes 🤣🤣
Also Lee Mack and Ricky Gervais are more than honorable mentions too
I love family guy, but i use that to go sleep sometimes 😂
Initially I think that was billed as the last episode. But it came back a year or so later and i'm not convinced it should have. It was still funny but it had lost a little of its spark. The two other classic are 'a Touch of Glass' which the chandalier and the episode when Del sends a painting by 14yr old Rodney to a competition and it wins. So Rodney has to pretend to be 14 to go on this family holiday with his girlfriend Cassandra pretending to be his stepmum. The scene when he comes in after the skateboarding is so funny i wet myself every time
Nicholas Lyndhurst has a face that conveys so much emotion. Such a brilliant actor. That whole series was amazing finishing up with he tearjerker of Rodney's wedding.
Yuppie was a popular term at the time for the upwardly mobile Thatcherite youth. Young upwardly mobile professional.
I grew up watching Only Fools & Horses back in the 90s onwards, Fun fact at 21:07 the boxes you see behind them are actually covering a guy in the back who are there specifically to rock the Reliant Robin lol You can see the guy in the back rocking it if you look closely.
C'mon you big yin how can you not be a fan of only fools and horses when you talk about best comedies ever ofah is up there at the top of the tree I remember 1 Xmas special pulled in something like 24 million viewers I reckon that's half of Britain
When your feeling down or empty watch only fools and horses it's a cure x
Yuppie means a business person who walks round with their phone (that was when not everyone had phones) and talking about money
Congrats on your 10k. You two usually give me a giggle. You remind me of myself and my gf, except our relationship is long distance, me in England, her in Texas, but we still introduce eachother to shows the other loves, especially British comedy.
YUPPIE was a young "upwardly mobile" person with a well paid job.
SORT is an attractive woman assumed to be promiscuous. He pronounces is Sowt in a cockney accent.
The guy with the beard isn't grandad he was Uncle Albert.
In the early episodes Grandad was played by actor Leonard Pierce who died. They created a new character Uncle Albert and cast actor Buster Merryfield in the role.
In my opinion one of the funniest episodes was CHANDALIER where Del takes a job in a big house to clean two large chandaliers (light features) hanging from a ceiling.
Grew up on it, but father ted will never be bettered
Don't forget to explain that Trigger thinks Rodney is called Dave.
you need to watch a full episode for the full effect
The office v Only Fools and Horses, there's a one sided contest, The greatest tv show Britain has ever produced, against that Ricky Gervais crap
yuppie was the term for the young businessmen who came to prominence at the time.
I agree about there not being much good tv. I mostly watch youtubes, dvd or Amazon of stuff mainly between the 70's and 90's. One of the few current shows i do like is a Scottish sit com, Two Doors Down which has a lot in common with The Royle Family.
