A remarkable lady. Devoted Queen and hardworking relentless champion of the underprivileged. Her passion for Iran and global peace and appreciation of culture was the envy of many. Iranians and western powers should appreciate such role model. She deserves a noble peace price.
I’m not surprised at all of all her achievements. I have many Persian friends since my time as a student in Paris in the 70s. I have been terribly interested in the history of Persia and that part of the world. I have always been a great admire of the great efforts applied by the Empress and the Sha in pursuit to modernize the health and education of a nation, especially women, which is located in the navel of fanatical religious society. Iran had reached such a glorious height but due to ignorance of its people thinking they knew what was a better change in leadership, it toppled. Unfortunately, politics is in the heart of the destruction of this former ancient empire.
Empress Farrah Diba, the Queen 👑 of Iran 🇮🇷 is sooooo lovely . Her deep & genuine love of her country is expressed in all she has accomplished, & still does as she can today.... I feel her pain of losses from her Husband, her two children, Her Country , being exiled!! Must be a deeper burden than anyone could imagine. @@joedias7946 How much do you get paid by the IR to spread lies about the Shah? The Shah was the best leader Iran ever had and there is nothing you can say to change my mind. The IR tortures people in Iran way more than the Shah ever did. The IR steals money all the time, while the Shah built schools universities and hospitals in Iran. It’s sad that you sold your country just for money from Khomeini who stole that money from poor Iranians. You’re worse than whatever the shah ever was
Agree! I knew very little about this amazing family! I’ve been an admirer of Persian/Iranian calligraphy for many years. It’s so beautiful. I wish her well!
She certainly was the only one of the Shah's wives to fulfill the role of Queen/Empress. The more I learn about her the more I like her, she was just born into unstable times and her husband could not live up to the pressures of the times.
Empress Farah Diba is a powerful role model to women of the middle east and the world. Thru her actions she gives hope, faith, love, intelligence, and prosperity with mentorship. We need more women like her to succeed portray professionalism guiding young ladies out of the bondage of a male dominated world. The Shah and males of the house of Pahlavi grant women power and freedom to rule it should be strongly noted. Love regards greetings Lady Canan Ulman Johns
A movie that was short-sighted in the depiction of the royals. They should have read Farah's memoir and interviewed other folks: Iranians, Europeans, Chineses, etc. to get their perspective on this royal family and their activities.
Clearly the Royal Family's take on the situation was not taken into account. In the intro it labeled the Shah as a "dictator" when it couldn't have been further from the truth. A despicable film overall.
Some of these so called facts are totally incorrect: Pahlavi University (formerly and presently known as Shiraz University) was created and developed by the Shah who was the supreme governor of the university. The only university which was under the governorship of the Queen was the Farabi University in Hamadan. There more errors which are outside the scope of this post.
Nothing shocked me at all. The Empress was truly a remarkable Iranian woman who did so much for her country. The massive betrayal of the Iranian people, particularly women, since the 1979 revolution remains absolutely criminal and shameful.
I met her in 1979 as I was told by an agent to stand on the top of the stairs and do not move. She stood before me and said you are standing in front of a queen. Then I was introducted and she spoke to me. She was so beautiful to look at. I was 19 and it was indeed an honor to have served her family in a certain situation.
Having studied journalism in an American school, a reporter must cover as many aspects as possible on their subject. They should, of course, interview members of her family and other Iranians, but also those who opposed their rule (and what was wrong with it), Americans, Europeans, and other Asians. One needs to get a balance of two or more sides to get others' perspective(s).

I am the 5th son raised here in the United States in secret. I was subjected to a number of abuses, some of which were authored by individuals within the United States DOD. Farah saw what was happening and demanded that a stop be put to it. However, a lot of the abuses were authored by individuals overseas. Notably the Turks and Saudis, possibly even radical breakaway elements in the old Imperial Military officer corps. I turned out okay, but hardly a success. Quite the opposite. But she did find a person I was deeply in love with. How that will end I do not know. Farah was afeared that I may have been malformed or damaged due to the abuses I was exposed to. None such occurred, but my motivation for everything just dropped off the face of the Earth. The Saudis, Turks and even the Russians, had hoped that I would return to the middle east as an avenger for the Shah after having been so abused and denied opportunities. No. Total nonsense. I was denied my own personal aspirations, they tried to turn me into an abuser, discouraged and destroyed my personal avenues of success, and otherwise made my life so miserable that I desired it no more. But my mother, in spite of our differences on personal philosophies of science verse religion, helped me. Her methods were not always agreeable to me, and had me cursing her name for a time, but I did come out from abusing a number of vices. Am I better man for it? I am not sure. I will be broke by the end of this year, possibly sooner, if something doesn't turn around for me. Like I told another RUclips user, I have no army, no navy, no air force. I was not allowed to go into the military, and therefore have no military training. I have no diplomatic training. I have no legal training. I have no law enforcement training. And I have never been a public service employee for neither Federal, state nor local level. I am simply me. I think Farah understands better what I went through, and perhaps some of the mistakes that were made in my upbringing. I still think of her as perhaps lacking education of how I see the world, what I went through, and perhaps even why I see the world as I do, but hopefully she understand that I did not turn out to be a social malcontent. It is unfortunate that I will probably never get to talk to her. I still have a lot of anger and bitterness regarding what I went through, and to be honest I would have just assume not have known nor have been bothered by her or her other children, my brothers and sisters. My mother was very beautiful, and men had good reason to envy the Shah not just for his status as Shah, but for whom he married. And, thankfully my mother's instincts finally kicked in, but only after I went manic in my own old house after losing my temper in public several times over. Which in my mind makes up her true beauty. I will add this angry admonishment, had I been raised purely in secret by a couple of NSA or DOJ personnel, then I probably would not be making this post, and I most certainly would not have gone through all of the dramas that Farah had to address from a distance. Each group of people wanted to turn me into a puppet prince, while individuals within both the Soviet and US military establishments thought they could steer my interests. Would you believe that the DOD wanted to turn me into a heavy metal rock star? Crazy but true. Presumably for some influence over seas in the middle east. I'm guessing Farah Diba Pahlavi put a stop to that as well, although there was no need as I've always found heavy metal drug culture repulsive. I do not know much about my mother. Like I say, I wish I had been raised in total secret and not found out about my true heritage. But, I have, and I'm posting here about it. And I guess I'll end this posting here.
