That soap has changed my life no joke, i wish more people knew about it
It’s so good
Almost fall? Man, it must have taken you so long to make this. Not to mention, I can't even imagine all the time it took you for all the b-roll shots that you got. I cringe thinking what it took for you to organize all your footage. I love editing, but it can be tedious as you know. Fantastic work man. I wish I had the time and money to go on long adventures like this as much as you're able. Maybe one day! Your work is greatly appreciated. Btw.... Shelf roads are my favorite 😊
This was pretty easy to put together just because I had done a series summer of last year and broke it up by section. I wanted people to be able to see each section individually and easily for research. But I know people also love the full length movies so I combined all of them in this video. But the initial edit of the series was brutal lol!
Also, I have the time cause this is my job now. I don’t have the money though haha! But that will come in time. Thanks for watching!
@@OFFTHEGRIND sure thing man. I know what it takes to put together these videos so I know you spend a lot of time and thought out there. Keep it up!
I appreciate the effort it takes to solo film and edit these videos. Well done.
I’ve done a lot of the BDR for work, but at some point I’ll take my old landcruiser from too top to bottom for pleasure.
Nice film work
BDRs are seriously the best! I can’t wait to do more of them!
I grew up in section 6. It’s always calling me home. So beautiful and quiet there.
I know exactly where you camped in section 6. One of my favorite places growing up
damn! couldn't have had better timing with this! the wife and i just got a raptor bronco and are itching to get some offroading done this year. can't wait to watch this with her later
Hell yeah man! Congrats on the new Braptor! I hope you guys enjoy the video
I just finished it solo last week in my Toyota FJ Cruiser, equipped with the rooftop tent and awning! Loved it and I agree the beehive washout scared me too!
Where?
Very cool video. Thanks for showing another adventure to try in WA. Nice job driving the Bronco and drone in unison!
Haha thanks! Love the drone so much. It adds so much to the video
It’s speachless… all those views and the really hard work you do for make it possible to show us that amazing experience! Ohh man this make me go to an adventure! Thx for all
The night sequence around 25-26:00 is something else!
Excellent video work. The drone shots are ridiculous! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Premade food and simple meals while camping are the best. Less time doing kitchen stuff and cleanup are always a bonus. I used to love intricate meals while doing trips. I'd rather spend time playing with the dog, or going for a walk around camp before dark after a long drive. Did this whole trip last spring and it was awesome.
What the nature and the beautiful landscapes! Wuau, astonishing absolutely astonishing!
Appreciate the work you put in to make these videos happen.
Thanks man
Love your videos man. I'm an a big fan. Keep them coming.
Thank you!
I love this Bronco
Yeah it's nice to live here in Washington State and that's why I go back and forth to two pieces of property
I just finished it solo last week in my Toyota FJ Cruiser, equipped with the rooftop tent and awning! Loved it and I agree the beehive washout scared me too!! I’m so happy that it was dry while I was on the route!
You actually had great weather for it then! Lucky. Glad you were able to get out and do it for yourself!
My Range Rover sport 2011 and brother in law 4Runner trd are so ready for our first off road trip in great Seattle area. Mad respect for this movie, love it bro!
What a fun adventure that was! Jake and I are stoked to do some more adventures with you this summer.

Great video! Camera and drone work were top-notch. What a beautiful trip. Can't wait for more.
I did this trip last year in September. It was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. I can only imagine the amount of video you had to edit for this!
I know that feeling at 38:00 all too well lol. Great production. Keep it up.
As a Washingtonian, I've always wanted to try this trip. Thank you so much for showing what I can look forward to! Also, thank you for the heads up about the roads.
I have done BDR as a kid I am looking to do it again. I am originally from WA and have been to every time you are at and camped a few places. This brought back many memories as a kid, thank you man!
How did I miss this episode? Glad it played as suggested. Thanks again man for taking us with you!
Beautiful video. Thanks for working so hard so we can enjoy this awesome countryside.
Amazing content for a whole crew of people, let alone one guy doing it himself. I am planning on doing the WABDR next year. I live on the west side. Can’t wait!
Thanks so much! Lots of work but I love it! The BDR is pretty fun! You get to see all of what Washington has to offer in one trip
Love the WA BDR! Solo trips are good now and then. You tend to approach things differently and learn things you might otherwise not. Cheers!
Cheers! Yeah I like the solo trips every once in a while. Definitely push you a little differently
Great job! Traveling through all seasons of the beautiful nature.
A lot of very familiar roads. We did Bethel Ridge this year.
hell men that looks like the best trip ever !!!!!!
Thats one hell of a movie bro. Excellent videography and cinematography and superb editing and music choices. Well done. The BDR looks like an awesome trip. Washington and Oregon are beautiful states.
Great narration, drone footage and camera angles. Well done.
Amazing video, you deserve more views, man. Fellow overland enthusiast from China, I have a friend who also drives a Bronco in the US.😁
Thanks so much! Do you get to get out much in china? What’s the scene like over there?
Great video. Your production and filming is amazing. Very talented with the drone. Thanks for sharing your great adventure.
My wife and I just got a 2024 heritage. Looking to build it out like yours. Wondering if a rooftop tent is a good move as we have a 5 month old who would sleep with us. Prob will ground camp for the time beeing.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Beautiful video! Beautiful family. Blessings!
Thanks so much!
Awesome video bro, I can't wait to get the 4runner out and do this. I'm still learning and being inspired by your content. Thank you for the example. This video was a treat.
What are the widow makers that kept you from camping on the first creek , the first night ?
……you said 3 days on the trail, had a shower….. had to re-organize the Bronco… WALK ME THROUGH IT ❣️❣️❣️
Great video. Did half of it last year and I can't wait to do the rest of it this year.
My EcoFlow glacier wiring pattern: Bronco inverter to extension cord, EcoFlow AC adapter provides 200w to my Anker 757 anytime I’m moving, usb-C from Anker 757 to glacier. This ensures my glacier is always 100% full and all extra power production is dumped into the Anker’s solar input port. If I stop moving I deploy a solar panel and continue dumping solar into the Anker.
Loved this video! So neat that you put the whole trip together!
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it.
Another awesome video I am starting to plan the NOR CA BDR....I wish that I had the video skills that you do...
this vid is amazing. I have been on the fence on the new Bronco. I have owned 2x 90s full size 5.0 broncos and also the PSI lowering gadget is awesome. Love the scenery too!
My dad had and early 90s bronco with a supercharged 351 in it and it was freakin awesome! I loved it and that was part of the reason I got this one.
Amazing that you can cover all of this back country alone and have never sighted any cryptides/sasquatch as other utubers have talked about on their channels!! I have spent a lot of time in back country areas and I have never experienced anything like that either! Myth or fact??
Bro I’m not in to that clickbait BS. I tell the story how it is. If I see Bigfoot you’ll know lol! Which by the way, I’m hoping I do. I think we’d be buds
Cinematics are phenomenal. You dialed them in. What camera and what drone are you using? Quality is top notch.
@OFFTHEGRIND What exhaust do you have on your Bronco? Sounds good.
I am excited to try the BDR out... but as it looks... we can only do 1-3 sections with Rivian due to charging availability.
Solar. Lots and lots of solar 😅
@DiamondDirtBikeDuo oh iiiii have a way to get me range and solar... but instead of a week it will be a month trip lol
Haha yeah I don’t imagine you could get enough from solar to charge quickly. Love the rivians though
@@OFFTHEGRIND oooover the month lol unless someone carepackage drops a generator lol
@@dominicwilkersonI don’t see a problem with taking a month off work just to take your time on the WABDR. 😊 the struggles of charging would be interesting video to watch.
Can you do a video on how you keep safe over landing alone? Tips tricks. Things to avoid? I find traveling by yourself so intriguing. Just got a 2 door jeep JL. How you plan the route.
You are literally living my dream :')
Question!!! May be a dumb one but o well!!! Will a full size truck fit on the bdr or is it for mid size. I have an off-road capable F250 and love to off-road. Great video, love following your journeys. I frequently go to Packwood and explore the Gifford as much as possible!!!!
Great video!! Thank you!
New bucket list goal. Any scratches in your paint? If so how bad were they?
Mods to tires or suspension? Ground clearance?
great video. great idea. great gear. great drone footage. my question is... how many times did you have to refuel?
5 times. Between each section except for 5 and 6
the drone
shots and editing are choice brother. GREAT video.
Thanks man!
great video. thanks for all the hard work
Of course! Thanks for watching!
Hey...I told you in your last video that I actually appreciate your reviews of various products, such as tires, inflation systems, rooftop tents and most especially, the IceCo fridge/freezers. And just like I said in that previous video chat, I just ordered my first IceCo fridge, thanks to your reviews! I tried to use your discount code but the website wouldn't let me, as I placed the order within their 5 year anniversary window. Ordering it during that short window was also, thanks to you!!
That’s awesome man I’m so glad you were able to pick one up! Yeah I don’t think my code was stackable during that time, but if you used the link it still helps! I’m really glad you get something out of me talking about products though. Makes me feel better about doing it
Great video ! We ran the Beeehive Washout the summer after it slid and I still have ptsd moments about it - what was I thinking ?!?
Oh man, I heard it was insanely sketchy after it first happened. I think I was through it two season later and it was so much better. Still didn't like it though lol
SWEET Bronco. What trim is that one and approximately how much was it prior to upgrades and accessories?
38:00 HAHA went through in my stock Silverado with a utility box towing a trailer couple summers back. Just need to learn to trust the truck. That bronco will go sooo much further than you think if that little spot makes you nervous. Good video. I have some footage from my trip but way rough and cant be bothered with all the work you put in editing.
Oh bro I know it’s easy. I’ve just almost slid off too many shelf roads so now I’m just super sketched out by it. And I love off roading and tough obstacles. Just different when there’s a hill to one side lol. But thanks man
And solo…
My husband just got a Bronco badlands. Which specific Morrflate do you recommend
The TenSix PSI pro paired with the quad hose kit is the way to go!
What exhaust do you have?
It is a Corsa Sport exhaust
How often do you air down? It can be a pia doing it one wheel at a time, and more than once a trip, but I am not sure doing it just once on a typical weekend jaunt would justify an elaborate setup. And may I ask how much time you save compared to doing it one wheel at a time?
this is so cool! great video.
You could run the paved sections at 18 psi with no issue. My group doesn’t even consider 18 aired down lol. We’ll run 10psi for hours on the hwy sometimes.
Just makes me nervous. I know when tires are under inflated, with all the flex and movement in with and between the plys, they get really hot which can in turn make the inner liner bead and break away. I think you’re right, probably not that big of a deal at 18 psi, but I’d still just rather air up to make sure I get all the miles I can out of these.
What do you mean widowmakers at the first camp site?
He’s talking about dead branches in the trees overhead
@ I see
What pistol is in your door? On my camping trips i have my FN FNX .45 with me. I am debating strongly for a 10 mm in time
It’s a CZ P10c. I LOVE that pistol. However, I’m picking up an FN 510 this week 😎
@OFFTHEGRIND that's what I'm leaning on as well. I have a .357 but capacity I feel is best
@ericleitch1871 agreed. And the 10mm has proven itself as a great woods gun.
@OFFTHEGRIND thanks for your input for sure. And the scenery in this video. Amazing
Beautiful video!
Question: are you able to open your right rear door with your Trax mounted??
Do you find it difficult riding alone? Great video. I have not any overlanding but will do in future. Thanks.
That turn off you had at the 6:30 mark is me to a T. Never have been able to resist those off branches.
Gotta get technical when given the chance!
What are your thoughts about taking a lifted camper van on the route? The Beehive washout looked like a no-go, but otherwise? Fun trip.
2:44 door interior - Sig?
CZ actually!
8:50 will that cup be on the store? I’ll buy asap!
No my brother hand made those for me! But I’ll let him know
What is that camp chair that you use?
Love the trip … very nice
I'm curious, what kind of drone are you using for your footage? I'm in the market and your follow me footage is awesome!
Nice Bronco! Do you have PPF on your truck (or any other type of protection) or do you just eat up all the pinstripes?
Not trying to throw any shade. Just wondering… does it ever get lonely on these solo trips? My fav part of going out on camping trips is being with friends.
Yeah it certainly can. For the most part I really like the quiet. My world is hectic and loud most the time so it’s a nice reset
Wow another awesome adventure video with great content. One quick question which ammo box fire setup is the one you are using. Thanks for taking this Old man along with you on this adventure.
Hey! It’s from ignik. Honestly I would not recommend it. It doesn’t take up much space, but it also doesn’t put out any heat. Which is why I haven’t used it since
That was a great video, awesome views from the drone. Just curious how much fuel you used on that trip? Thats a lot of miles.
@28:48 is what dash mount are you using for the inReach? Thanks!
Hey! It’s from Ram mounts
Is there a gps track of this route anywhere.?
Yup! Ridebdr.com
Thank you for sharing 🫡
so the road @21:37 says closed... did you just say f-it and keep going anyways?
Looks like pinstripe central on some of those narrower trails 😬
Oh yeah, the Bronco is tore up lol
Great Video!
Any tips for getting through the beehive washout? I'm in a modestly lifted Astro van... we will be doing the WABDR in August this year.
I'm like you... I dont like heights or shelf roads. I'm having some anxiety about the Beehive washout.
Just take it nice and slow. The climb out you’ll need some momentum for, but the off camber low point just go nice and slow and use a spotter. I think my bronco might be more too heavy then an Astro van (unless you’re running a rooftop tent) but it’s also wider. You should be able to hug the inside a little more and give yourself more space. If you get there and you’re not feeling it though, bail. It’s also way easier to turn around coming from the north, but I’d rather have the hill on the driver side, so approaching from the south, so I can see where my tires are in relation to the edge of the trail
Could you have drug the Mammoth overland through this trail?
I do this trip every year with a group of my work buddies. I happened to look at the route on OnX last week and it said the first leg was closed? Obviously it’s not. How were the trail conditions?
Oh I did this in the fall. But figured it was going to open up sooner this year so I wanted to put out the full length movie to get people excited! I have no idea what the trail conditions are now
@@OFFTHEGRINDgot it! Appreciate it bro!
Great video.😍
I’m not a guy who can sit and watch many videos on RUclips longer than 10 minutes long, but your video had me hooked the whole time. Amazing editing work! I have a Wildtrak Bronco and would love to overland it. What exhaust do you have?
what do u mean by BDR?
BTW if u add in your video when u took lunch and dinner ,how u cooked it .
moreover if there would ve been some fishing to catch and have it for food .that would make the video more awesome .
BDR stands for backcountry discovery route. I believe there are 20 states that have official routes
Hey dude! Love your vids.
I've been building my 4door bronco and running into payload limits real quick. Have you had issues with exceeding the GVWR fully loaded for long trips like this?
wondering if this BDR is doable w an off road trailer in tow. Any tough sections?
The only section I’d be weary about is section 3. Maybe section 4 too since it is tight and would be difficult to let other vehicles pass with a trailer in tow. But 1,2,5, and 6 would be easy
Very cool video. Thanks for sharing! Hope to take that trip someday. Had to cringe watching you chop those veggies though. :) It would suck to remove a fingertip. Just tuck them under…
Haha I’ve tried to do that and I just can’t get the hang of it for some reason. But I’m glad you liked the video despite the obvious danger of losing a finger lol
sorry for my ignorance but what is a widow maker?
That’s not ignorance. Widow makers are dead trees or tree limbs that could fall and hurt or kill you
Great video as usual. I'm curious why you, and some of your fellow creators, don't invest in APEX valve stems for airing down. I have them and absolutely love them (can be completely aired down in about a minute or so and not even be moving at combat speed). I know the one drawback for them is they are rigid and can break if the location of the valve stem on the wheel doesn't provide adequate protection, so carrying some emergency valve stems would be wise. To an extent, I'll go through what is necessary to get where I wanna go, but I'm not hardcore, if there's a bypass, I'm taking it or turning around lol. So for me, investing in the valve stems was 100% worth it in the time saved airing down, though I'm never in a hurry, but I prefer the convenience. Anyway, just curious is all. Keep the videos coming brother and stay safe out there.
