  • This is just a short video snippet of testing and why you should test your gun. Not all barrels are the same. Not all guns like the same ammo. This video shows a brand new Tisas 1911 match fresh out of box in a Ransom Rest.
How will this gun do? What ammo does this gun like? We did not test all ammo, but we did a fast test of various ammo. This was to give us a fast reasonable expectation of what that gun may do.
This first test the conditions were not perfect we had very high winds. This is the first initial test and zero at 35 yards for demo and information only. In this video we show gun and ammo repeatability. We only show two types of ammo in this video, We show a range ammo that that we used and we show a Magtech ammo, more was tested just was not shown on video..
So far the test in those conditions the best ammo was Fiocchi 200- grain JHP ( for video time we did not show on video but was very close to the Magtech ) the other was Magtech 230 grain FMJ (that was the last group shown in the video) More comprehensive test is to come with this and another Tisas 1911. And we will do a 50 yard on this gun. So, stay tuned for more info and more testing.
Is it me the gun or the ammo? Have you ever shot at a soda can at 15 or 25 yards and say? I can't believe I missed that. Can your pistol even hold under 1.5" at 15 yards? If it can't, it may increase your chances of missing.
Accuracy matters. Sure, many guns can do an occasional 1.5" or sub 1" group but can they do it repeatable. Some guns may have 3 or 4 rounds that group good once in a awhile but not all 8 rounds. And are they Repeatable 8 round? Again, and again. What ammo does the gun like? Is it me the gun or the ammo?
We are here to find out. We do not cherry pick the rounds or groups this is real true results in our videos. This is why you may miss that soda can. If you are not testing, you are guessing as they say.
First shots and groups shown here. No special formula no tricks out of box stock gun and stock ammo. Not all ammo or tests was shown this time, but stay tuned for more comprehensive tests,
Ransom Rest test for repeatability. Many various types of ammo used to get a average base line of grouping.
Subscribe to channel to get notification, will add more tests and video soon. No special formula, stock ammo stock gun real world test in real world environment. You can do this test to.
What ammo does your gun like? What ammo do you prefer? Is it me or the gun? Ransom Rest helps you find this out.
We here at Ransom hopes this video will encourage you to look at our Ransom Rest. We hope this video will show you a clearly why Ransom Rest is the preferred way to test.

    • @Ransomrest
      @Ransomrest  Год назад +5

Thank you for your comment and here is some info may help your friend.
He has over tightening the gun in the grip insert. Most people over tighten the gun because they want rigidity, and they want it tight or snug for accuracy. Keep in mind the human hand grip is not that strong. And remember that girls shoot these guns. So never over tighten your gun in the machine.
Extend finger snug only, if needed torque it to 14-to-18-inch pounds for polymer or 21-to-25-inch pounds for metal frame. This is the military spec designed by the military.
Keep in mind the grip inserts are the durometer of the human hand. They are designed to mimic the human hand. So any over tightening the gun in the grip will deform a polymer gun it will also make the grip insert swell therefore the gun won't settle, or it could rock in the grip insert.
This problem is aspirated if he is running a polymer and especially a gen 3 Glock gun. Let your friend know to download our tips manual on the Master Series web page. This will walk him through how to properly use the machine.
Machine is very easy to use but please Don't re-invent the wheel have him contact us and learn how to use machine properly. This can save him a lot of time or him trying to redesign something due to a miss use or miss torque at setup.
He did very well by figuring it out, but the accommodating indicator is only patching a root issue of over tightening the gun in the grip insert. This is in the instruction manual.
Please remind him Girls shoot these guns and the human hand grip is not that strong. he has over tightened the gun into the machine. Chuck Ransom always said do not monkey the knobs tight. He always said use extend fingers only or torque using a inch pound wrench.
When you over tighten gun in machine the grip will swell and gun wont settle into the grip. This will be seen as vertical elongated grouping. Group should be round not elongated. If he over tightens gun, it will give him elongated group as mentioned in our tips manual. Hope this info helps some. We really appreciate your comment and please have him contact us so we can go over proper use of machine. It is easy to use but over tightening is a issue some do.
