After driving it for around 25k miles for around a year and a half i think this is a really good SUV from hyundai. It's great looking in the night and one of the most comfortable drives in this price range.
Great features, but It's 2 years old globally, not new, albeit a strip down version from international model and also missing basic features for the price. Poor show Hyundai.. Differences: 1. Alloy wheels 2. Shift by wire 3. Auto opening Boot 4. Storage space on side of the leg 5. Wireless Android Auto 6. Hybrids missing 7. Heated ORVMs 8. Sun Blinds 9. 19" Wheels 10. Sunglass Holder 11. Cooled Glovebox 12. Driver Roof Handle 13. Boot organizer by spare wheel 14. Tight spot parking assistance 15. Designer exhaust 16. Flow design element along shift by wire console 17. Empty buttons on gear console 18. Paddle shifters 19. Coat hooks 20. Warning light on door
I have been driving this car for quiet a while now abroad, Let me tell you, this is the best Car in India under 50 Lksh...But that all touch User interface system is a constant headache. It will test your patience and it can be a serious safety hazard too.
That’s some crazy torque (diesel) for a car this size. Frankly, Hyundai will sure sell well, there are quite a few who were looking forward for this. Personally I like this car in it’s diesel guise.
From last year, there was quite a buzz on TeamBHP about the Hyundai Tucson, suddenly many people wanted a car like Tucson, and they bought many too. Now this one came out but quite a bit expensive 🥱.
Amazing work Hyundai! As someone who drives a tiguan, it would be grrrrreat to see this segment of Value grow. Both tiguan and tucson have all the features and more than an Audi Q3 or BMW X1, and come cheaper than both.
That's a huge list, but I think if they add all these features for India spec version the price will be close to 50lacs. Maybe they will add a few features for the facelift versions in future
Owning a Hyundai i20 for many years and even driving plenty of other Hyundai cars, I feel the biggest downside is a Hyundais cornering ability and stability at high speeds.
Why brands these days giving white interiors? Don't they know how difficult it is to maintain specially if one has Pets or Kids at home? Atleast give option like all black or dark beige & black dual tone combo for consumers to choose from?
For the Indian market, they already are the premium (mass-market) brands: atleast Hyundai is. In a sense, Hyundai is to India what the Germans are to the North American market.
More expensive compared to Jeep compass which is king of the segment... Thanks Hyundai India for keeping up efforts to buy Jeep compass by pricing the Tucson much high than it deserves...
Suddenly the car market feel’s like a seller market with all manufacturers asking for a premium.. Not a healthy trend for the buyer as I feel nearly all launches are about 25 percent higher than their deserving price
I don't understand the audience it caters to, Jeep is great for driving and off-roading and costs lowest. Tiguan is for driving joy and european build quality, Kodiaq and meredian for 7 seaters, what does this accomplish?
This car will compete with citroen c5 aircross suv. In usa vw tiguan is a direct rival of hyundai tucson. Jeep compass is not direct rival of tucson if you compare the dimensions of jeep compass and hyundai tucson.
Jeep has less service centers, VW service costs a bomb, hence this is a natural alternative especially for diesel variant. I don't know about petrol though.
Tiguan and Kodiaq don't offer diesel engines and their petrol engines aren't as fun as Tucson's diesel engine. Jeep makes unreliable cars. If these reasons aren't enough then there are people who don't want to buy VW because they make unreliable cars.
40L on road is really expensive.... The cabin has been improved but is it really premium ??... engine options.. do people prefer Tucson over XUV 700 given its 200bhp??
The Design is very Radical and Very Bold with such Cuts Sheer brilliancy of the Die Maker for the outer Panels Korean and Japanses car maker can pull this Feat Simply Great
Priced itself out of competition, from both sides. Cheaper, Jeep Compass will get a boost in sales, as will the slightly more expensive Citröen C5 Aircross.
Tucson is not a rival of jeep compass. Dimensionally both are different. Tucson length is 4630 mm where as jeep compass is around 4403 mm. This makes tucson direct rival of vw tiguan and citroen c5 aircross.
@@manashmahanta4984 No arguments there but most people cross shopping these vehicles would find it hard to justify that kind of money for a Hyundai (no offense).
Booked tucson on 20th july...now cancelling it due to overpricing...not worth the price at all...buying jeep meridian which I booked earlier...bbye hyundai...👋👋👋
Meridian is nowhere as reliable as the Tucson, also interior space and features on the Tuscon are much better. Do try out both cars for before making a final decision.
Love your review.... I was one among the people to comment on your first review and wow way too good of a way of reviewing now.... Appreciate your homework done.... Lovely review of Tuscon
Good desicion to change from the boxy cheap looking designs. 👌 not a fan of current creta, even though it's supposed to be a modern design. Due to cost cutting it look cheap. In my opinion, cheap in the sense less solid. Unlike it's vw competition and their EU standard seem like a better option at that rate for a lot of people.
Old Tucson was unique and there weren't many cars with that power and torque at that time, but it has more competition now and priced over the top for the top diesel variant. Interiors look more like the Alcazar. OTR Rs 40L for the top diesel on the road is very steep and that lackluster petrol engine/gearbox is of putting...
The 6 speed gearbox for the petrol is a fail in my opinion. I owned the previous generation petrol. Had they offered the 8 speed gearbox for the petrol, i surely would have considered this new generation as my next purchase
I dont understand the problem manufacturers have with providing petrol cars with AWD. People in places like NCR has preference for petrol because of the stupid NGT rule and are left with no AWD option.
Great video and thank you! Just went and saw the vehicle at a showroom in the Cayman Islands. As I use an A1 & A4 Avant - my first impression - the Tucson is absolutely not classy and can’t never come near the interior quality of Audis “even from 2002 models”. Didn’t get a chance to test drive but the AWD would be the better choice for India (bummer that there’s no hybrid or Petrol AWD) Audio system quality - one need to check that thoroughly for a price above 20 lakhs. Waiting to see Telluride & Palisade launch in India. Best, Anoop Kumarakom/Cayman Islands
With XUV 7OO, it's 2.2L mHawk Diesel engine churning out 185HP and healthy 450Nms is more VFM. This Tuscon should've been priced between 24-29ish Lakhs.
Came to see this car in the showroom today, not at all impressed with this car. 1. Over expensive don't know why(would have projected 4 lakhs approx less for a good sale) 2. Small spare wheel 3. hand gear shift paddles are missing 4. back seats sunblinds are missing 5. Air purifier is missing which is a must 6. Round steering is not that good 7. Ac should have buttons, the current design of ac glossy area is not good can be improved 8. Digital meters are not that appealing as compared to rivals 9. Gears lever are taken from Creta and a car at this price shouldn't be coping the small segment. 10. Again it has bose speakers taken from Creta same number of speakers and the sound quality is the same. 11. the infotainment system is not appealing too. 12. At this price we expect 8 airbags at least but this car has 6 airbags only. Haven't driven it so till now this is what I felt also at the showroom we were not allowed to switch on the ignition so not sure how much noise this car makes.
hyundai needs to go for a dct in this segment. only way they will be able to compete with kodiaq. although Tc is good enough but is no match for the instant pull of a DCT
It's already launched Indonesia I thought about it'll launch as CRETA BTW in this segment In this segment In this segment Bla bla bla In this segment we can buy 2 XUV 7OO
Not sure what Hyundai's plan is this time in India? Hyundai Tucson's previous AWD version costed 32 lac on road. The new one shown above costs 40.5 lac approximately. A hike of 9.5 lac does not make sense. Plus no matter how cool the ADAS features might sound but its not a relevant feature for the Indian car market, where lane driving is still a dream. Pricing it higher than Jeep and it's sister company's Kia Carnival's Limousine variant not the best plan.
Hyundai has priced this car out of the segment. With a car like XUV700 in the market which offers more practicality with 7 seats, AWD and ADAS for at least 5-6 lakhs less Hyundai has really ruined its chances with the pricing. Indian consumers will wait for the car rather than pay more.
After driving it for around 25k miles for around a year and a half i think this is a really good SUV from hyundai. It's great looking in the night and one of the most comfortable drives in this price range.

Same as global model = 5,8,10,11,12,13,15,19
depends on trim level or options you get= 1,9,14,17
You forgot the most important thing 😂 missed from global variant but it's alright. People don't want most of this stuff. It's pretty well specced

How much might be the kerb weight of this, Tuscon?
Amazing work Hyundai! As someone who drives a tiguan, it would be grrrrreat to see this segment of Value grow. Both tiguan and tucson have all the features and more than an Audi Q3 or BMW X1, and come cheaper than both.
Hyundai knows to make a feature loaded car and they have nailed in the Tucson .
i wish they knew about good engine as well
a comparison between compass & tucson would be great.
Model S vs Tucson would be a reasonable
Everyone wants Tucson in creta price lol. Imo it's priced accordingly.
Half of it is tax ftr lol
Not creta, but in top models of XUV/SAFARI price range. It doesn't offer much more than these cars for the price they are asking.

If you consider service & maintenance over a period it will be way cheaper than Compass.
Jeep compass is more trusted.

It will overshadow Compass when the buyers drive both. That's only rugged but has a poor reliability reputation where this excels.
@@वैदिकधर्मसंस्कृतिएवंपरम्परा It isn't. Jeep is anything but reliable.

Its rotors look really small. Do the brakes do a good job on high speeds and frequent heavy braking?
Does the diesel variant have any offroading capabilities?
